The countryside and the Strasburg Railroad that goes by is so neat to see. With a playground, buggy rides and themed restaurant it's a very nice place to stay.

We stayed here 2x when our kids were 2 and 4 then again at 4 and 6. They loved it! About 6 months ago I stayed (20 yrs later!) on my way through to Gatlinburg from NY. Still a great place! Thx for the video!

Stayed here in October 2020 for 2 nights... I had a great stay! The staff were super friendly, comfortable beds, good food at the restaurant, loved seeing all the animals on property, super nice gift shop. I think i stayed in one of the Blue cabooses. I love the one you guys stayed at. The stairs were awesome. Ours just had a ladder up to the bunk bed on top... no stairs,

Sure looks like a fun little place to stay a night, I've taken the train ride that Bobbi was waiting for, it was nice, we were there in the heat of the Summer but all the windows on the train were open that day so it was comfortable. We had stayed at a beautiful B&B when we were there, but I'd give the Red Caboose a stay if I ever went back. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Great place to do a vacation. Very nice people, family oriented nice atmosphere. Was there during the pandemic, a lot of places in the area had restricted hours but all in all, a wonderful place to stay. A hidden gem all the way

I have no idea how I came across your video, but I have memories/pictures of when I was very young (3yrs old or so) staying here. I’m 25 now. I have pictures of me and my grandparents staying in the red car just left of the 21 car.

Oh guys what a great video. I have been to the Red Caboose before and ate in there Restaurant. But never have stayed in one of there Cabooses. I loved yours that you stayed in. Wow!! Another great place you visited in this video. This place has a really neat little gift shop/museum that sells all different trains and trucks. My dad was collecting the old Hess trucks for my two boys and my nephew and this place had a lot of them, but he stopped after my nephew passed in 2018. But if you want nice vintage trains or trucks, this place has it.

This is so cool. I would stay here. I would love to stay in one of the train cars but I would really like to stay at The Shady Rest Hotel. It all looks so neat. My girlfriend and her 3 brothers were raised with one of those paddles that was kept on top on the fridge. She says just the threat of using it kept them in line. Lol.
It was fun playing with the paddle to see how many times you could hit the ball without missing . But it was not fun getting a spanking with it. Lol😎😎
Great Video. Our very good friends own this hotel. They will be pleased that you had a good stay there. The barn is being renovated to be turned into a wedding and special event venue. It will be very nice and will add an additional facility to the complex. They are also building an conductors quarters that will be like a small apartment you can stay in. They are doing a wonderful job . Thanks for the excellent review. You will need to go back again to see the barn once it is finished. It is going to be beautiful. I can introduce you to the owners. Their kids are our adopted grandkids.

My dad worked for Reading until it changed to Conrail, then for them until he retired. My son and my father loved to play Thomas the Tank together, as my son has quite the collection! Love watching the vids from my childhood and college days.

What a neat idea in Amish country. Your caboose was so rustic and welcoming -a lot too offer families with kids. ----PS. --I ordered tourist information from Lancaster city and they gave me the number for Lancaster county where most of Amish located. Everyone was so nice and explained the difference between the two areas. LC told me about there Discovery website. I think we will plan a trip in early October. Any suggestions feel free to mention. The main thing to see is Sight and Sound Theater. Worlds largest Buffet is close in Shady Maple. Remember hardly anything is open on Wednesday. Do a buggy ride and Kitchen Kettle is very popular. Make sure to try Shoo-Fly Pie it's very popular here. Our favorite hotel is the Fulton Steamboat. 😎😎

Thanks so much for showing us inside of the caboose. We rode through there last summer and did a short and was curious what they looked like inside. They did a nice job fixing it up and it does remind us of the Smokey Mountains. Hopefully we will stay in one. Thanks for sharing!
You would love it. Wait till everything is finished before going so you can enjoy it all. It's definitely worth it but it is a little small in the rooms. They have one other caboose like the one we stayed at. At the end if you watched we filmed a clip of all the rooms. Thanks guys for watching. 😎😎

I love my parents dearly but when I use to make my mom mad she use to stand at the bottom of the stairs banging a wooden spoon on the stairs telling me to come down stairs luckily it didn't happen that often

Love the trains for sleeping. So neat. One question, the ceilings don't look too high, would a person who is almost 6 foot tall have enough head room walking around in one of those train cars?
There is not a lot of room in them. I wonder before you rent one if they would allow you to walk in it to see how comfortable you would be. Thanks for watching 😎😎

We stayed there for our anniversary 40 years ago.Hubby was a train enthusiast. At that time they sold antiques instead of all those souvenirs. We stayed in a private caboose for 2. To me it was a little claustrophobic.

@@jbinthehillsactually stayed there in 80s, and they have done a great job inside the cabooses on rennovations. I usually stayed in the carriage house on 741, I would stay there again, as they are much nicer. thanks

Strasburg Railroad runs several Thomas the Tank Engine weekends....stay in a caboose and ride a train pulled by Thomas himself!!
