"Symptom of the Universe" "Hand of Doom" "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" "After Forever" Just a small sample to take you further down the Black Sabbath trail.
Ozzy always had a way of surrounding himself with the best musicians. Tony Iommi was the guitarist in Sabbath, then when Ozzy went on his own, there was Randy Rhoads, Jake E Lee, and Zakk Wylde, all masters. If you want some more Sabbath, try Iron Man, Children of the Grave, or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. But you should definitely check out some solo Ozzy: Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, and Revelations Mother Earth are great ones to start with. Cheers!
Your just skimming the surface of Ozzy's career. He was very successful in his own right. His work with Randy Rhodes was groundbreaking. Ck out Crazy train...
The album came up short on time and needed another song to fill it out. Geezer and Ozzy went in the corner and wrote this and then they recorded it. Not like today with a dozen producers and record label people telling an artist what to write and how to sing it.
"Dark and soulful" perfect way to say it. Sabbath with Ozzy is my favorite group, been for 34 years now. Rush is dope too, Hendrix, early Metallica, Pink Floyd is good too. Keep up the great work.
Thereâs a good band called Electric Wizard who are heavily influenced by Sabbath. Their singer was asked in an interview once what his top 5 favourite albums of all time were and he replied âthe first 5 Sabbath albumsâ
Glad you are finding Black Sabbath! I've been listening to them since I was 12 or 13. I'm 63 now and still get that thrill when listening to them. Listen to all of their early albums, especially Black Sabbath (their first), Paranoid, Master of Reality, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Vol. 4, and Sabotage.
I love an Open Mind, I'm glad U enjoyed it- they basically were the start of heavy metal! The guitarist is like missing several several fingers on his fret hand- Impressive!
My pop raised me on vinyls... he had about 1,300 in his collection, so these songs, stories & rhythms are all ingrained into my soul. I'm kinda jealous that you are getting to dig into all this stuff with fresh ears, mind & heart: doorways upon doorways concealing treasure troves of gems await you :-) I love "Fairies Wear Boots' but my most favorite from Black Sabbath is 'the Wizard' .... lots of folks have done reactions to it, but it's still my most favorite jam from Sabbath. It makes me feel like I could slice unscathed straight through a city block throwing down in the middle of a revolution like a hot knife through butter OR emanate light to heal the world, depending... it's got gritty magic that moves me. Meanwhile, born in '77 on the outskirts of Philly, I'm a hiphop head too: in the spirit of reciprocation, I hope you share some of your favorites with us. I would love to know your top five
This song always reminds me of that scene on Dazed and Confused where there chasing down those freshmen to whip there ass lol. If you haven't watched that movie before you should check it out. Lot of famous actors got there start on there and it has an awesome soundtrack to it.
Nice reaction - I saw Black Sabbath in the early 1970's when they were a new band - they were so loud on stage my ears were still ringing when I got home.
Black Sabbath is incredible. Lots of great music to check out there. It should be noted if youre not aware, Ozzy did eventually leave Black Sabbath and started his own solo career after which has its own slew of amazing music. Black Sabbath also eventually moved on with various other singers at the helm, most notably Ronnie James Dio. So Ozzy and Sabbath have a very storied history and lots of fantastic music for you to dig into. Highly recommend. Glad you like it so far! Rock on bud!
Glad youâre loving Sabbath. They were legends. Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Wars were all great musicians. Check out Into the Void. Youâll love it.
Iâd love for you to see something live from back in the Black Sabbath days because I think everyone looks at Ozzy now From the Osborne show on MTV and obviously has Parkinsonâs and heâs older he still kicks ass on stage I saw him a few years ago but when you see him when he was younger itâs astonishing. Great reaction

Always enjoy your reactions as you discover music that many of us have been listening to for many years. Great reactor with good insight. I agree that N.I.B would be a good one to do next.
The lyric that you said âWhat did he sayâ was often misinterpreted by people who didnât like Black Sabbathâs message - they thought he said â I tell you to end your lifeâ he actually said âI tell you to enjoy life, I wish I could buy itâs too lateâ
I can't believe you just now discovered Sabbath and Zeppelin. I'm jealous! You have no idea how much fun you're going to have listening to their catalogues. You need to listen to "The Who" as well, they're right up there with those two and The Stones, The Beatles, and Queen as the best rock bands of all time.
That's what I love, I didn't know Ozzy was the singer either when I first listened to them at 13 back in '86 because you're a real Sabbath fan not just an Ozzy fan. Sabbath is my favorite. Cool channel
Ozzy had that haunting spell-casting sound that fit Sabbath perfectly. I talked to a chick years ago that stocked their jet with food and booze in late 70's and she said they had a big treasure chest inside filled with every drug imaginable.
Ozzy continued to make incredible music, after Sabbath, Blizzard of Oz. Diary of a madman, and more. Dude redid Sabbath for year's in the late 90's 2000's. Check out the last concert in Birmingham.
Paranoid to me reminded me of when I used to smoke a little, I would get paranoid and if you're heavy paranoid those words ring true. Also, you've just not even scratch the surface. Remember like in The Wizard of Oz, it's best to start at the beginning. So start with their first album Black Sabbath and continue to you have finished Symptoms of the Universe. Then you can start on Ozzy's solo career with the Blizzard of Ozz. Glad you are enjoying.
Ozzy went on to make some great tunes too; 'See You On The Other Side', Thunder Underground, Shot in the Dark, Rock n Roll Rebel, The Road to Nowhere, Centre of Eternity, No More Tears, You're No Different, Over the Mountain, Believer, Suicide Solution, Perry Mason, .. (many more)
Ozzyâs solo work is also extremely strong. That man is an anomaly! I just adore him. Heâs been through a lot and definitely has been IN the rabbit hole and somehow has come through time & time again. It is definitely sad to see him age (as we all will) and the idea of him passing someday is heart wrenching.
Sabbath had finished recording the tracks for this album when their produced told them they were a few minutes short-so Tony went off and came up with Paranoid right there on they fly. Try to imagine today's popstars being as spontaneous as that. No friggen' way.
It's good you loved Sabbath before you knew it was Ozzy. Same for me in 87. Love Sabbath and Ozzy. Listen for geezer Butler in the songs, he's kiiln it. Like your channel, happy holidays brother.
The best early hard /metal / prog = GRAND FUNK RAILROAD , SABBATH, an YES, No collection isn't complete without these. lps. thanks, saw Sabbath first time in 71 on their first USA tour , then I saw their final tour a few yrs ago , = full circle. then Yes 2 weeks after Sabbath , then 4 months later saw GFR. Huge request: Would you please react to the live version of âWar Pigs,â Paris 1970. Trust me when I say you can treat it as a separate but equal experience alongside the studio version. My man, you NEED to see Black Sabbath in this video at their craft. Each individual member and their rendition of this song as a whole. The musicianship is off the charts. Oh, and Bill Wardâs drum playing is a on another level, banging and brutal! . . . trust me, your mind will be blown. The video and audio quality are great, the music is tough and direct. But those drums, guitar, the driving bass and Ozzyâs swagger are something to behold.

Paranoid was released 50 years ago. And it still sounds as good as it did then. Timeless.

Ozzy may be famous, but he and his career is easily misunderstood.
i believe the story of this song is that the record label wanted a radio single and sabbath wrote this tune in 30 minutes lol
Yup
The album came up short on time and needed another song to fill it out. Geezer and Ozzy went in the corner and wrote this and then they recorded it. Not like today with a dozen producers and record label people telling an artist what to write and how to sing it.
Love your authenticity and yearning for experience. Keep on rocking.
As a young guitar player many years ago this was one of the first songs I learned. Itâs still one of the first songs kids are taught to play today.
You NEED to listen to the original song âBlack Sabbathâ by Black Sabbath. They stormed America with it.
It don't get any heavier than that one.
That was the name before they were Earth but the 1947 Boris Karloff movie changed all that.
It's always awesome to see an open minded person who can really dig new music.
"Dark and soulful" perfect way to say it. Sabbath with Ozzy is my favorite group, been for 34 years now. Rush is dope too, Hendrix, early Metallica, Pink Floyd is good too. Keep up the great work.
