Thanks for the video and the demo images. I watched them on the Quest 2. Fantastic Quality! But not with Skybox. I recommend Pigasus VR. The best image viewer for Quest. Full Res! I use it for my XPhase Pro Pictures. I‘m glad that 180VR looks also great with Pigasus. To view 180 VR you have to set the mode to 180 and the style to stereo/side by side. Even on the old quest 2 it looks good to me, and i'm spoiled (xphase pro). It also loads fast (NAS is supported).
Thanks for the tips! You always seem to have workarounds for issues these camera/software companies just didn't think of or simply haven't fixed yet. I hope they are picking your brain before every VR product release... 😎 Skybox is my favorite VR player for AVP right now too. It feels way more polished than the others.

Good news! I've figured out how to fix the issue with overlightened skies, and it boils down to two key things. First, manual start settings are necessary for DNG-8 images. The first image should have a low exposure to capture the sky well. The following images seem to use a higher exposure, if I understand it correctly. I’m still not entirely sure if I grasp the DNG settings perfectly, and I’d appreciate clarification on the difference between DNG-8 and Auto-Exposure Bracketing. For me, Auto-Exposure Bracketing doesn’t produce good quality results at all-maybe I'm doing something wrong there. What’s completely useless, and I mean that literally, is the HDR mode for 24MP photos. The compression artifacts and distortions are so bad that I can’t get anything usable out of it. Personally, I can only recommend the DNG-8 mode and regular DNG images at 96MP. DNG-8 produces good results, where you can even read fine details that weren’t visible before. It works handheld if you keep steady and use a short exposure. But at night or indoors with longer exposure times, a tripod is a must. However, DNG-8 images rendered as JPEGs via Qoocam Studio come out with a very warm color temperature, which I don’t quite understand. If anyone knows why the color grading is off, please share. Maybe the JPEG export in the software isn't great; perhaps converting DNG to JPEG elsewhere would be better, though I haven't tried that yet. Currently, I'm limited in software for editing DNGs and have been using the free Lightroom app on my phone for post-processing, as I don’t have the paid version.
DNG is for outdoor moving subject and AEB is for old school HDR when nothing is moving in scene. That is the difference I tell everyone. DNG-8 is great but if you compared it to Xphase, yes, Xphase beat everyone else (same as the price)

Thanks for the tip. In Meta Quest 3 the pictures are very crisp but I have to downscale to 15360x7680 and compres a bit. In original resolution exceed the memory for the Skibox (Meta.)
Awww Meta suck lol. Thank you for doing it and now I know I can NOT go all out in almost 17K and half of the ecosystem can NOT even play it. Vision Pro do expect 16K photo tho.
Oh yes Skybox on Quest do the same thing. Even on PCVR. I think it is just resolution limitation on Quest like 15K instead of 16K so you do need to downscale my image a bit which is annoyting.
You think canon will update the 3D lens for full frame? Got the R7, but found out 4k still not enough resolution for avp. R5ii is so good, it’d be great if they update the lens to auto focus
The market is small I guess. People own AVP is still very small and creator like you and me are even smaller. Making an update lens is costly. But we all hope that.

Hey Hugh is there a way to automate the auto transcription subtitles to Text3D in da vinci resolve with new davici resolve update. You tought use how to add text but it is such a hassle to add subtitles to your VR180 project
I still need to update my own knowledge what all have been push on Resolve 19 official but yes, there is plugin to generate subtitle and there is plugin to use your template for those subtitle and I use on my vertical social media content all the time (no one has time to type everything - let AI do it). Is that not work for you? The only thing AI can not do is estimate scene depth for you to place your subtitle correcly - apple is working on a solution in MV-HEVC involved depth map generation. If that is AI or not we still not sure so it might come out later this year with the BM new camera launch
The exported files are round rectangular and are not looking like the sbs vr files I am used to. In your videos you have the 2 rectangular shaped left and right and mine don’t look anything like that, with a big space in the middle.
No I don't think iPad can handle 8K media and EOS VR Utility or even Resolve Studio is not on iPad so there is no way to stitch them into VR180 format unfortuntely.
@hughhou Hmm I made some further tests even on images sky is blown out all the time. Also AEB, there especially and I can't set the brightness there manually...
I purchased the Louvre photos......three times (2 of those times were for Kimchi). But when I use Skybox on my Apple Vision Pro and Windows computer, I can see the icons for the photos, but when I click on them I get the message, "This image cannot be rendered." Any idea what the problem may be? (I couldn't get Kandao XR to display the pictures either, but Reality Player worked for when I downloaded all the Louvre pics to my Apple Vision Pro)
Thank you! That is really strange. Did you try just download the photo onto your AVP and use Skybox to open it? Did it works? If Reality Player work - Kandao XR and Skybox should work.
Are you export as JPEG? Strange. I can do it. You might have settings in Topaz to trim your metadata? Check all your settings to make sure there is no custom settings that mess with your metadata. Also, I will go from RAW to lightroom then to Topaz instead of going straight to topaz in case topaz can see metadata in RAW file. Try that. Or affinity to topaz if you don't use Photoshop
@@hughhou Still working on this! I've found that I can use Topaz to denoise or to sharpen and EVU sees it just fine, but when I use it to upscale--no go! I'm using an R5 C if that is significant.

Will you try a 360 3D picture with 4 shoots at 90 degrees and stiched in Mistika VR? In 180 photo I miss the rest of the panorama because there is not action.

Yes!! I just don't know how to stitch them together. PTGui told me the software can not stitch VR180 sbs rig in to 3D 360 - I am like...wait, so what software can?! Mistika also use PTGui as driving engine - so I am out of solution.
@@hughhou I made the template with Ptgui loading each picture twice. Pic 1,3,5,7 Right eye. Pic 2,4,6,8 left. Then I use this preset in mistika VR with optical flow but the result have some issues. When I get access to my example I will share with you. I think the key it's in the missalingment. I follow some tips from Javi Baranao, the boss in stereoscopic rigs.
Edit: Fixed @hughhou On Qoocam 3 Ultra at AEB I can't set EV seemingly. Tried all settings there image was taken an 2-3h before sun goes down. The others I needed to gown to -2EV that it was somehow okey...

Only the new fisheye lens. That is a lens level feature not camera btw. We use the old manual fisheye lens as it cover the full sensor in true 8K.

No it does not. You need a better APS-C camera body like the upcoming R7 MK2 or something in this line

Yes it will work on EVO as well or any VR180 camera! I just use Canon as example!

Are you on EV 0 or EV -1 - what video or photo mode you are on? Dynamic Boost or regular or 10-bit or both?

The output of Topaz is fantastic! I can't get the exif to transfer though? EVU does not recognize the JPEG it outputs. Help!

ExifTool can migrate full meta data from camera jpg (just set taking photo with RAW and jpg at camera) to LR/PS export jpg
Wait, can you elobrate the workflow of ExifTool to move metadata? From RAW to JPEG or JPEGE to JPEG?

@hughhou Yes Qoocam 3 Ultra allows the steps but not the initial EV. Initlal is already too bright, so AEB does not recover anything from the sky

AEB is space the EV out I blieve in 0.7 per step - is does not allow you to set it?
