- This video serves as an overview, walkthrough and tutorial for the realtime audiovisual software algorhythm.
algorhythm is a tool I've been working on for the last months and years, built and running entirely in TouchDesigner, which allows the user to playback generative visuals and media, manipulate them with audio and other inputs, fade between visuals and add a number of different post effects.

Steve Duda was talking once about being a 'meta' musician, creating the building blocks (with Serum VST presets and samples/loops) that tons of other musicians use to create music. Just wanted to say that I've learned so much from your TD videos over the last year and thank you for the time you put into sharing with the community! Algorhythm really looks to be that missing link I've been looking for to interactively perform with the TD projects I've created. Ableton Link for tempo integration would be next level. The ability for Algorhythm to be able to send data (OSC, MIDI) from the output section might create some interesting "feedback" type effects for a performance. Basically we are always using outside sources (Audio, Video, OSC, MIDI) to influence something inside of TD, but I'm interested in how to better extract data back out of TD to the outside performance world. Does that make sense?
Really amazing work! Will definitely try it out if i ever get a chance to live vj. Also im a huge fan of the slider which reminds me of a crossfader on dj controllers.
one thing that would be usefull is clock synchronization with external midi input e.g. syncing clock to a synthesizer or a dj controller.

Hi! great work, honestly! Have you made any further explanation on how to built our own tox files? couldn't find anything on your channel, nor website. Also I saw the help button on Algorhythm, but it would be great to have some extensive explanation too. Thank you and again, GREAT WORK!!!

aye homie so Ive been having trouble with finding the TOX files i put into the "toxes" folder, i cant seem to find any of the toxs including the ones you include in this software inside Algorhythm but I am able to see everything from the windows file explorer. can provide pictures if needed

Does anyone have any tips for how to add extra Tox's - i'm unable to load one of my own? I've got them setup in the Tox folder and they show in the Tox list, they are in a Base comp and have Custom parameters setup, and they have a bg null and an out1 null the same as the included Tox's which load ok. I got one to load briefly when mucking around adding and deleting the bg and out1 nulls but when I tried to recreate what I did it didn't work again. Any help much appreciated! Thanks

would this work with interactive kinect projects? i noted the external camera input but is it possible to recognize input from the kinect and generate live feedback using this tool? great work by the way!
I hava an idea that might be not that hard to implement - Lights in post FX - simple constant that can be switched with inputs

i am facing one issue that i cannot figure out - with any .tox that i create and then try to import into the setup, i get a blank screen. any idea what i could be doing wrong?
the node view of the container i've set to operator viewer along with the correct output. please help!!
i have added a null (bg) top at the end of my composition as well. no luck :(

Solved it! I right clicked it on the taskbar and chose fullscreen. Amazing tool!!

Irres Tool aber leider ist die Präsentation ein bisschen zu nerdy... statt erst mal zu erklären wie der Vorgang generell funktioniert schraubst Du an jedem Parameter und jedes dritte Wort ist ein a bit messy und there might be more features und I explain later .... nie kommt irgendwann mal was überhaupt TOXES sind. Und ob das Tool erfordert ob Du Touch Designer installiert hast oder ob Algorythm so läuft ... Bitte nicht böse sein aber aus dem Video wurde ich nicht schlau. PS: nutze Ableton seit Jahren zum Musik machen und kam von der Seite.
my tox files dont load properly - they just show as black with none of my custom parameters copied across - is this something to do with them having video inputs? is there a way to change the 'movie file in' input during performance? a a lot of the visual parameters are also based on data from audio inputs, to generate noise, displacement and speed etc - how can i maintain that whilst using this tool? many thanks !!
