    Joey good tip to help you find short-circuits. Power each rail and measure the "current" drawn on each rail, compare the current draw with a known good board.if you have slightly higher current draw on say the 1.3 volt rail then you know it's a RAM issue, if the current is higher on the 5 volt rail then maybe it's the Wi-Fi module etc, if the current drawn is less on any of the rails this could indicates an open circuit somewhere. This will help you to isolate open and short-circuits.

    One thing I draw from all of this is not to own a PS5 at all, ever... I see so many times just how janky and junky these expensive machines are and Sony know full well their product is bogus and it surprises me not that their machines do seem to expire rather rapidly once warranty is over like there is a little chip in there that overjuices certain lines and bingo bango your 5 goes up in smoke and you gotta buy a new one or pay extortionate amount for after warranty repairs to them...

      I mean, there’s no way you find a working PS5 digital edition for less than £200. If your PS5 breaks, it’s out of warranty and you keep the warranty sticker intact it values more money than one with already attempted fix. You can ask maybe £170~200 for a broken one with intact seal. Maybe £100~140 if it’s attempted repair. This is my thought.

  • @Craider79
    @Craider79 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Ok so normally I'm against this kinda thing - but really it's INSANE how many PS5 consoles I see bricked and how little Sony cares! It WAY too often seems to be "just out of warranty" consoles - and when you then open them up it's simply just component failings - since Sony is pushing the hardware WAY too hard to - I'm guessing - compete with the Xbox Series X. The difference is - IMO -the better cooling in the Serie X here! So - here is my "don't do this you naughty so and so" thing. If the warranty sticker is intact, then buy one of the "official resale" consoles, take it home, exchange the side panels if there are too many scuffs on the one you have which doesn't boot - and then stick that one in the box and return it. DO NOT buy a new one and then try and pass that on as a new one - or at least wait a few months. It's VERY easy to see if a PS5 is used because of the shitty quality of the plastics - especially the "shiny black middle piece".
    - Frankly with the way Sony has been behaving ever since they started F-ing over consumers with their "Everquest Next/Landmark" hoax - and how they increasingly continue to be insanely anti consumer (latest with Helldivers 2) - and the fact that they seem to not give a flying F about the insanely high failure rates on "out of warranty" PS5s - you know what - I REALLY don't have an issue with people doing this! They are literally the most anti consumer corp there is these days - and they seem content giving the middle finger to the people who buy their stuff - so - go ahead - return the favor!
