Out of everything from all Oasis song, I think this is the best one that they had. It captures the vulnerability of someone who desperately wants their significant others to stay in their life but couldn't do much since their own life is a big mess. Yeah, for me this is the best song from Oasis.

Dad took my brother and I to the Logan Campbell centre concert in Auckland '96.
Man I had great taste in music since I've been as young as 5 😎
Dad still says it's the loudest, most crass concert he's ever been to.
Playing a stadium sized rig in essentially a tin shed.
Born in the 50s he was in his formative years in late 60s- early 70s.
He's seen an amazing line up of eclectic, world class acts.
Liam and Noel were arguing pretty intently while on stage.
The whole thing was highly strung even bordering people being uncomfortable.
Being a kid though, I still loved it.
I've had a rocky last year.
Bipolar disorder, specialist altering meds as they have had a lesser effect over time.
Weighed down by world pressures/problems putting particular stress on myself, especially around Christmas time and being self employed.
Been rude to siblings who have in reality only been trying to get me to simmer down.
Been kidding myself how good I've been to try and please everyone I guess.
Them thinking I was manic, I was infact still very depressed and only acting out due to frustration.
I should have been listening to the "teachings of oasis".
Seriously!

Worst thing I did was stop regularly listening to and enjoying music.
1st of Jan was great. Optimism for a new year and the birthday of my nephew.
That joy was great, but it made me feel uneasy about my own stages of life, insecure maybe?
2nd of Jan was a regretful day.
I was isolated and alone/scared and I was considering harming myself.
I'm glad I pulled myself out of it after hyperventilating for an hour like a panic attack.
Was listening to a pre made playlist and another band came on that didn't sit with me at the time, sending me into a major tale spin
I imagine them in 1997 thinking "Oh fuck, this is brilliant.", but seeing these effects today...

Underrated song...
The unrivalled Liam Gallagher at his mercurial best. Listen to the delivery of the last chorus and then the last line in the song with the little shimmer at the end and realise no one can touch him for power or delivery when he was at his peak. Totally unique and makes the whole song. His voice sounds so clear and pure here. He is why I loved them. He made them from a good band to a great one.

I’ve always interpreted this song about someone and their drug addiction and him contemplating to himself -> 1) get high on the drugs you’re addicted to or 2) stay strong and by choosing to stay clean & sober. Classic devil v angle on your shoulders trope done in movies when depicting the inner conflict of a character
Liam must chose one path to take while being persuaded by the angle and devil. The angel represents conscience & the devil representing temptation.
However, Liam talks himself into fulfilling both urges. He’ll get high but justifying it b/c it’s the very last time in his life that he’ll ever use drugs.
So now that he’s stoned…… the song represents his inner thoughts & him just talking to himself about his love and hate for his addiction and he actually doesn’t want this to be his last time on his favorite drug and he’s scared to quit
Ideally he’d love to stay high forever and not come down off his high…… b/c he can’t face reality knows he not quitting drugs tomorrow regardless of what he said before getting high

This song had Liam & Noel at they’re very best, Liam vocally & Noel on exceptional songwriting, just an amazing song. I heard Noel say he’d redo this album if he could go back in time, surely he couldn’t touch this gem👏🏻👏🏻

+Tales From The Riverbank I would say is the other way around. In the time it was heavely critized for not be as good as What's the Story Morning Glory, but now people sees it on its own and notice how good it was.

I was 10 when this song came out! I've grown up with Oasis in the UK but somehow have missed this song in particular. Love how you can re-discover music that you thought you had already rinsed back in the day! The lyrics are awesome and the sound is just Classic Oasis! I've been looping this track so much!

One of the most touching songs from Oasis or late 90s, isn't it? It never sounds old or out of date but awesome and touching! Love Oasis forever. (Also I love this video which paid homage to the surreal artist Ren Magritte. )
