    Finally, someone that understands dirt riding and makes me think I am at least somewhat sane. I was looking at all the twin cylinder ADV bikes, the T7 being one of them and they just are not the right tool for the job when it comes to my riding on dirt. I have been looking at the 701 LR when I stumbled across this video so thank you and look forward to more vids from you.

    hi, it is not necessary to compare the AJPR 7 with the T 700 one weighs 160 kg and the other 200 kg a single cylinder and a twin cylinder.
    You can take the road together with the T 700. make long journeys even off road. where it becomes complicated, especially on your own, is to take very stony and steep off-road portions of very technical passages where the AJP R 7 will pass with difficulty the T 700 will require a lot of anticipation and driving experiences and in in case of a fall it will be very difficult to get out.
    I have a 250 WR R, a 300 BETA X-TRAINER and a T 700 Teneré. the 3 are very good bikes, but respond to different skills, there is no point in comparing them since they are incomparable.
    See you soon

    • @GregVillalobos
      @GregVillalobos  Před 4 lety +4

      Agree, to a point. Many people are asking how it compares to the T700 so it's worth talking about, even if it's just to highlight the points that you make - they are very different bikes.

    Great video and good information , I've changed the rear hose as my one had a small leak at the crimping drawing in air so a new hose and the rear brake was transformed .....Love the bike , easy to ride and goes great just watch out for the bashplate not protecting the exhaust or you'll flatten the pipe , lots of people have had this happen once the riding starts getting tricky.

    1. is it just me who thinks the intermezzo music is too loud? I mean at the level that I can hear you properly, the music in between you talking is a lot for me. But maybe I am oversensitive or sth :)
    2. It is possible to install the radiator guard without taking off the radiators. All it takes is to disconnect the upper small diameter tube and that will give you enough room to do all the work. It will not help you, but maybe someone else out there.

      Hi Richard. The tablet is a great feature but it's a very old model. I've already killed mine - it's not built for British weather! My advice would be to package the tablet and sell it while it's still new. Use the funds to upgrade to a better model that is waterproof as well as faster.

As it is, I am looking at a Husqvarna 701. Have you ever ridden one, or a KTM 690? I wonder how they would compare. I have looked into Adventure Spec because of your videos, and I have to say I am amazed at the amount of forethought they put into all of their products, and I am completely sold on them. I will definitely purchase AS products when the time comes. Ciao, Marco.

    So.... knowing what you know now, would you still pick the pr7 again? And, just how close tomthe enduro end of the scale do you think it is? Does it feel like a purpose made adv bike or an adapter enduro bike? I'm moving from a ktm 990 to a 500 exc with a view to adventuring it but to be honest, it's too small, light and enduro bikexlike if that makes sense? I wonder therefore just how close to it the pr7 really is?

    • @GregVillalobos
      @GregVillalobos  Před 3 lety +2

      OK that's a big question. Hopefully some of the other films will have helped. I rode a 2014 KTM 690 the other day and found that much closer to my EXC than the PR7. The 690 puts you in a race riding position and is v snappy, the PR7 is a bit more relaxed. I'll try and figure out how better to communicate this in a future vid. Prior to getting the PR7 I LOVED my KTM 450 EXC (and still do). I found that it was overkill for some of the TET riding I was doing though.

That way I'd get the tablet and controls I love and the ktm reliability and service parts availability, I'm currently trying the 500 on 15 /48 gearing to see if it takes a little of the "enduro" out of it?
