I suggest "Master Of Puppets" and then an original audio video "We Fight We Fall" and of course one of my fave original MVs "Mystery".... Sam just chills me to the bone with his guitar playing. He is now my fave guitar player and I feel he is headed for Legendary status.
Wendy dio asked them to do this song and vinne appice dio's drummer gave them this version of the song to do for the fund, this version has only been done by dio live never recorded so its a great honor for liliac.
They also do a cover of "Rainbow In The Dark" (officiall) it caught the attention of Dio's son then Vinnie Appice and from there Wendy Dio herself.she liked it so much they were asked to do "Last In Line" this version you just saw was a minute and a half longer given to them by Vinnie to do and yes it was done in a studio cause the benefit was a "Virtual" one cause of Covid.
I have heard them play this live . It was absolutely fantastic ! You can react to anything they have done , it's all awesome ! Try Mars Live , Dear Father or anything they have done . Current ages are 14 to 23 .
Great reaction. I am a huge Dio fan and this is my favorite song of his and Liliac absolutely crushed it. Definitely check out Holy Diver; that was the first Liliac video I saw and got me hooked on the band a year ago. Check out their originals as well: Mars (live) and Dear Father are great places to start. Rock on and rock hard! 🤘
They dropped out of America's got Talent because in order to go into the second round they were offered a contract where they would take like 99% of there earnings and they had to sign it for 5 years and they said "NO" to that plus they had to do the second round virtually recording the song they were going to go on a computer.
Those shows are so scripted.
They didn't drop out of AGT , Simon Cowell tried to screw them with a bogus greedy contract , but Papa Liliac had lawyers read it and they were blacked out on the program.
She used to play bass when there keyboard player was too young to join and the bassist used to be the rhythm guitarist.
Their current ages are Justin 14, Ethan 15, Melody 20, Aby 22 and Sam 23. The Cancer Fund Tribute was done virtually because of Covid. They were given this song and had one week to learn the music and make the video.

Long-time fan of LILIAC. They really did a fantastic job with this. MELO-DIA's vocals give me chills listening to her sing this. SAM is on pace to be a legend shredder. ETHAN and JUSTIN holding their own at such a young age. ABBY though...she is the heart of the band 🥁🏆 RO&RH 🦇 🤘😁🤘
Just discovered this band a half hour ago (Melody was singing Neon Nights w/ Vinnie Appice and Rudy Sarzo)! Made me want to check out Liliac! Glad I did! Then I saw your reaction video and had to hear your thoughts! Right on! You rock, Bobby!

The Cristas are a great family group. They are all very talented, super talented. As a group, musical group, they have excellent chemistry, which is what a band needs to be successful. As a drummer myself, I can tell you that Abigail is a very good drummer. She is exceptionally good. She is a powerful drummer. She drives the beat and is always in the pocket. Melody is a genuine contralto, she does not have to do anything to modify her voice to sing in low octaves.
They have the talent to become a megagroup if the stars align for them. The music industry does not get it. They do not understand that rock stations play old rock becasue there is no new rock to replace the old rock.
Liliac does have their own music, but, like them as a band, unrecognized. I wish them all the success they can glean as they deserve it. They have worked very hard to get to where they are now.
This was made for the Cancer fund show to play. They were playing a concert that night. They watched some of the show live on a big screen at Venue. They did a short interview before they played this. I paid to see the Cancer Fundraiser and to be honest. Liliac was the highlight for me. They didn't do enough Dio stories with those who knew him. The Dio house cover band was off all night. Justin at 10 played the Rainbow in the Dark iconic keyboard riff better. He was 10 when they were on the World's Best Show. I keep brain farting on the male voice that was mostly used. He was off too. He sang at Dios funeral. Only person who sang with the house band I liked was Lizzy Hale. Just a little perspective. One of my favorite interviews of Liliac I like is From one player to another. This was before they were sponsored by Sawtooth Chromecast. Best voice in rock on the planet right now. Best guitarist I've ever seen. That's saying it all .
One more bit of information they only had like 10 days in total to learn "Last In Line" shoot it edit it and all that stuff and had to have hit in before the 10th day to get it in for the "Virtual" concert. They didvall the work themselves they are an "Independent" band and do NOT want to sign with a record label. Now all the video's you will see they did them "All" themselves. Sam the guitar player does all the editing himself their dad Papa Liliac does all the shooting of the video's with an exception of hiring someone to do the drone shots he is also their manager and what not.
Holy diver, rainbow in the dark, master of puppets, are great covers, mars live Cummings ga, sailaway, and dear father are greater originals ❤
Thank you for a great and informative reaction this was recorded in their makeshift studio in their basement . But there's a video of them doing it live for a sound check which is just as good if not better , Melody's voice is any thing but soft although she can sing soft when its called for , she idolises DIO and loves singing his songs and whereas her voice is unique she does tend to model herself on his performances . Justin the keyboardist is the youngest at 14 as you correctly assumed and the band has been performing together since he was 7 , you should check out their earlier tribute covers which include DIO'S Rainbow in the dark and Holy Diver then check out an original , anything from their playlist , there's not a dud among them . I just found your channel and enjoyed your Liliac reaction.
To answer a few of your questions: Yes this was recorded, not sung live.
Currently they are ages 14-23, so that website bio note is a bit behind.
Third, all the kids are extremely talented and play better live than on recordings, in case you're skeptical.
They have lots of amazing covers and originals. Check out Holy Diver for sure, and I would also recommend an original called "Dear Father."

Vinnie Appice's Sabbath Knights are considering playing again this summer since Vinnie has time to do it. I would get on the guitarist friends list OMEB/(Mike Carr) they are thinking of having Melodia front for them on this show.
Started following them years ago when they were known as the Cristeas and were only the 3 oldest. At the time Melody was 11, Abigail was 13 and Sam 14. In those days Sam was the lead singer and Melody also sang. I saw Abigail singing background in one video. She is a decent singer, but it is not her thing. Melody has since taken over as the sole leader singer and Sam sings some background vocals. Sam has a great voice also and I would like to see Sam and Melody do a duet in the future. They are all talented musicians. They all play more than one instrument. Abigail was playing accordion in the early videos.
They dropped out of AGT because AGT wanted them to sign a contract giving them most of the royalties their lawyer told them not to sign it was a terrible contract so they dropped out
Firstly, not live performance, 2ndly Melody used to play bass in their early videos, was I Enter Sandman or some other. Melody played bass, and current bass player was shredding guitar with his older brother.
Liliac is an amazing band

It was recorded in their basement as the tribute was virtual. If you look up the tribute everyone's submission was "a music video". These kids are great. Dad was a music producer by trade and when the kids said they wanted to play he encouraged them, took them for lessons, took them out busking to get their entertaining chops and the family runs the whole enterprise devoid of a label. This was the controversy with America's Got Talent. To advance, they had to sign a contract. Papa Liliac took the contract to a lawyer and they determined it would not be good for the kids. They pulled out. End of story. And good for Papa Liliac. He and Mama Liliac oversee things and their kids put out superb music. Watch the videos from the Cummings, Georgia concert a couple of years back, especially Mars. You will be "fanged" then! RORH
They crushed this. I suggest some Liliac originals Mars (Live in Cumming GA), Dear Father, We are the Children, and Chain of Thorns are great places to start. However if you want to do more Liliac covers I suggest Rainbow in the Dark (Official Cover Music Video) (Dio), Master of Puppets (Metallica), The Trooper (Iron Maiden), Symphony of Destruction (Megadeth). Or if you are a fan of Joan Jett try their cover of I Hate Myself for Loving You or if you are a fan of Janis Joplin check out their Piece of My Heart (Live in Cumming GA).
Great reaction it’s time to check out some originals checkout Sail Away and Dear Father. I saw them live at the Landis theater the same day of the fundraiser and they showed this version and then they performed live I thought the live version was better they are a phenomenal live band.
I have been aware of Liliac for a few years now. I have some reservations about what I am watching, and I've never seen anyone else make these comments. What are the odds that these kids are really all that talented, that one family should produce a complete hard rock band? Who teaches them how to play their instruments? Do they all have such perfect pitch and musical knowledge that they can figure out all these cover songs on their own? Something just doesn't feel right to me. Also, I read they are homeschooled. This instantly brings to mind some kind of family-based religious cult. I'm not saying they aren't perfectly authentic, but I am wondering about what I am watching. Every time I see them, I can't keep these thoughts away. It just seems all too good to be true. If this is all authentic, then wow and great for them. But there is a well-known saying that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. And this band is just a little too perfect, from the youngest to the oldest. If what I'm seeing and hearing is all real, then this family is musically gifted beyond belief and the world is theirs to take. But again, I have questions.

I think the cult thought is extreme. The reality is many homeschooled children excel. They aren't burdened by the social aspects of public school.
Our three children are all entrepreneurs, and never have stepped foot in a school public or private.
Just do a little research and your questions should get answered. Their dad is a music producer so they grew up around music. He got them started on lessons and worked with Melodies vocals since she was 8.

You can't go wrong with anything they do. Try covers The Trooper and Holy Diver, Originals try Nothing and We are the Children.
Their official video of rainbow in the dark is very good. Don't do the " world's best" version, it's watered down for tv.
If you want to see them live then watch Mars live in Cummings Georgia. It’s one of their original songs and you get Sam starting it with a guitar solo.

I realize this is an older post but I have a question about Dio. I'm not a diehard fan of Dio but I am familiar with his work with Black Sabbath and Rainbow. Here is my question, Dio left Rainbow to play with Black Sabbath when Ozzy quit, then at some point Ritchie Blackmoore left Rainbow to start Deep Purple but didn't Dio join Deep Purple at some point and time before going on his own?
No. Ronnie James Dio was never in Deep Purple. And actually, Ritchie Blackmore was in Deep Purple before Rainbow. He quit Deep Purple and started Rainbow, then later went back to Deep Purple. After that he started his own band Blackmore's Night then did a sort of reunion with Rainbow again. I don't think any of the former Rainbow members took part in that but I could be wrong.
