i'm very much a country person, hate cities and crowds.
BUT i went to Japan snowboarding with some Aussie and Kiwi mates and we had a couple of days in Tokyo at the end.
absolutely LOVED it! never been to a city thats so clean, friendly and has such a positive atmosphere before.
its really safe for everyone, very little crime and literally buzzing all the time. highly recommended!

Certainly did. We did 2 weeks of snowboarding in Hakuba, Myoko, Nosawa Onsen and Shiga Kogen.
The powder there is unlike anything i’ve ridden before.
Like flour, barely any moisture to it at all and you can’t make a snowball no matter how hard you squeeze it.
We had up to 50cm of snow most nights and some days it snowed enough that when we did laps of a tree run through a gulley in Nosawa Onsen, our tracks were filled in by the time we got the chair back to the top.
Yeh we didn’t find it too hard to figure things out. The train station in Tokyo was a bit confusing but we got by. People were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier, and i was drunk on the last night, split up from mates and asked some Japanese guys for directions to my hotel. They hailed a taxi, gave the driver directions and paid my fare. Not many places in the world you’d be shown that kind of kindness.

roppongi is full of idiots and there are fights every night. But overall yeah, the night life in tokyo is so diverse it beats most megapolis in the world.

I was stationed on a ship out of Japan back in the early 80s and LOVED IT! I didn't see any clubs I used to go to in the video but this was so freaking cool. And the scary thing is you look almost exactly like I did back in those days.
I have been to Japan many times on business. Roppongi was a favorite place I liked in Tokyo and usually stayed at the Prince Hotel.

@@MrWalker1000 it's not but you need to be very careful about drinking in Japans red light district in kabukicho and getting your drinks spiked in Nigerian Japanese clubs/bars. Japan is very safe, just be cautious and dont get hammered especially by yourself.

21-30 year old me would have been all over this scene. Today, though, Japan nightlfie means hitting a konbini and grabbing instant ramen, onigiris, famichiki and a drink and heading up my room to have some quiet time. It's what me and my girlfriend did when we visited Osaka. But this video sure made me reminisce the good ol days. I miss Japan so much.

Although, my fiance and I are probably going to Tokyo after this whole crazy pandemic is over so we'll probably check out the clubs you recommended here, just to get a taste of the Tokyo nightlife. A club or two, maybe, probably around whichever area we'll be staying, but I am particularly interested in Omoide Alley so that'll definitely be on my list. The clubs, if we have the energy, maybe we'll hit Roponggi up and check out Tusk or something 😊 most probably before majority of the crowds rush in hahahaha.Thanks for this video. Haha that brings back so many memories- esp the famichiki. There 10 years 2009-2019 (28-38 yo) and it was hard for me to walk away from the nightlife like this, but I didn’t want to be some old gaijin in the club- don’t get me wrong if you are fit and have good style nothing wrong if you like a club and you’re a bit older, I know djs in Tokyo in 40s/50s, but i felt a bit like Peter Pan and you can’t stay in never never land forever.
Also had the chance to live in the Japanese countryside - quiet and serene . If I would’ve stayed I would’ve settled in a smaller town
