OK, King Razah educate me. I am a citizen by investment of St Kitts and Nevis. I visited but not as a tourist but more like someone that wanted to really know SKN. I rent a room just west of the bus and ferry terminals and have walked all around Basseterre. I have eaten at the KFC in the back ground. I I knew there was a festival this time of year but was so Sugar MAS 52 mean? I know that SKN gained its independence 40 years ago? What is the significance of Sugar Mas 52? BTW, I plan to go back to SKN.
St. Kitts used to produce sugar and is known as Sugar City. Sugar Mas is a strategy to rebrand the carnival experience like Spice Mas in Grenada. We have had 52 years of national carnival.
@@kingrazah Thanksl I knew about the former sugar industry but the "mas 52" threw me. I though of 52 more weeks as if mas is more in Spanish.
ST.KITTS is having Carnival a lot more than 52 years, but in 1971 they NATIONALIZE CARNIVAL. Carnival was previously held under an organization called. CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES. Later there was an association called SOUL CARNIVAL formed. Sometime about 1968 to 70 confusion set in and we had two carnivals simultaneously. SO carnival was Nationalized. So we are having 52 years of Carnival under the National Carnival committee.
