He wasn’t kidding when he said being on Comedy Central was an internship for Netflix 😂
Marka Cadey back in 2017 wtf I remember
That last answer he gave was so important and something that people need to really understand. It's easy for politicians to make it seem like they care about you. But if you actually hear them speak and listen to what they when they try to be inclusive you can tell what is genuine and what isn't. Whether it be Trump or Clinton or whoever else.
Hell yeah.
so very true, when he said what clinton said, i was like woah, say no more.
Exactly. And then they make the video title about a stupid outfit (I get it, YT algorithm, yada yada) and the description doesn't even mention his answer.
This Clinton anecdote how it inspired him to create his own show, was the best part of all the digital exclusives.
whoever's in charge of the music and sound department is killinnnnnn' it
And Graphics toooo!
S.R. Aman I think the Graphics department won an Emmy!
He is one of the best story tellers.just the sheer drama and emotion he creates is wonderful while story telling
varun reddy Mothe even if you don’t want to, you pay attention to him lol he’s one of the funniest newcomers
If you haven’t watched Homecoming King yet please do! Funny as hell but at the end he really does bring it home and make you yell ‘IM NOT CRYING YOURE CRYING’
I think that's what ppl don't get about his show sometimes, that yes it's a "comedy show" but it's not just about the laughs, what he brings to the table is the full on narrative, which includes a lot of drama too. Probably more drama than the other political comedy shows out there rn
Noooooooooooooooo
Hasan Minhaj is just so damn good. That Bill Clinton bit clinched it for me. I hope this show does exceedingly well.
it was awful
@Cant_Touch_This just awful, wanna make a debt it doesn't last 6 months?
you @@hamishthemack10 are in debt alright!
There's a big difference between what Clinton said and what Hasan heard. Considering that Republicans think all Muslims are terrorists, Clinton welcomed them as Americans and key partners in the fight against terrorism. He never said that was the only thing Muslim Americans had to offer. “If you’re a Muslim and you love America and freedom and you hate terror, stay here and help us win and make a future together. We want you.”
Yeah I remember when Bill Clinton said and I thought it was ridiculous. I'm a muslim american too, and glad Hasan caught that and was moved to make this show after that.
"I'm saving that outfit/item of clothing" is the exact thing u say when ur parents bought you clothes and wonder why ur not wearing it
exactly u spot on it hahahaha
I am from Europe but I just realized that every time a white American says that he welcomes minorities or that he wants to include them it means that he feels like he is the host and all other are guests. I think people like Hasan should start to tell white people that they are welcome and that they are a part of America.
HAHAHAHA that would be really really funny i agree
+
I get what you are saying.
I have seen white people treat many Indians who were literally born here as immigrants even if their family was living here for 3 generations or more.
I mean it's kinda stupid. They are as American as you
I love ya, OP.
@@gabbar51ngh Yep and that wont be happening when it's a German family that's here for 3 gens, double standards for whites and colored people.
Man!! he needs to be preserved.
Roni Roshni hhhhhhhh
I'd say a big enough jar is fine. But what preservative do we use?
That last part. I literally clapped from my room.
When I saw your show on Netflix I was like "ehhh... I'll give it a look." So glad I did. I love your work: you make comedy out of tragedy while helping to solve the problems we face as a country. Don't ever let anyone convince you that what you are doing isn't important. (Coming from a straight, white, christian, male from Oklahoma)
Andrew, have you heard of Sojourners magazine, the Christian social justice publication?
@@MegaKahili I haven't thanks!
Love you Hassan! As a Muslim, im so proud to be represented by such a smart & funny face.xx
I heard that the Koran had a lot of jokes and humor in it. Is that true?
Yes it's true
Not to mention a pretty cute face
@@ADerpyReality you commented this to pissed the other people! That's faslhood.
He's not really religious. He's married to a Hinduist, he's just blabbing about being a Muslim to play that card in his comedy
The final question from the audience, where Hasan talks about Bill Clinton, that sums it up on the Muslim experience in North America. Thank you for doing this show.
I hate that Bill Clinton said that about Muslims, but I’m so thrilled that it influenced you to start this show! You’re incredibly talented and what you have to say matters! Thank you, Hasan! 🙌🏼
Yes! More uploads of 'Deep Cuts'!!!
Here here.
The music keeps surprising me, more and more.
Yes this one is truly different.
It's Ludwig Gorranson he's a legend did a bunch of stuff for Childish Gambino (like Redbone) done the Black Panther score and all.
@@ZshacZap name?
@@ZshacZap wtf that is by ludwig. Now I'm not surprised.( ͡◉ ͜ ʖ ͡◉)
Because of you I want NETFLIX. ✊😎
I get it just to watch Dave Chappell specials and now I can't live without it, good luck :)
Edit: grammar error
That's exactly what Netflix wanted by uploading it here for free.
Charles Green Hassan I"m adicteeeeeed. to you.❤🌸❤🌸❤🌸❤🌸❤🌸❤
Get it, you won't regret.
Yeah i cut netflix since they mostly have originals instead of hosting other programming like it used to
I often feel a bias or something unpleasant or judgemental in the way even the liberals talk about muslims, even if they are - on the surface - saying something positive. But I can‘t always pinpoint exactly what is making me feel that way. I have to say you do a great job at making those things explicit, also in a way that people from other communities can understand and empathize with! Keep up the great work 🙌🏼
Yeah and I think they are playing the game of: look lowkey racists I am one of you too, while playing nice. No one is gullible enough to fall for that ish.
What do u mean
Exactly my sentiments!
It's not just the religious thing? Like you orthodox? You babtish? Who's it popular to hate on
Same in Europe. The right actually hate foreigners, but the left has some weird ass attitude. I often hear abour people who: "support Gaza", "children of Syria need our help", "refugees on leswos (or something)" etc., but they would never allow their daughter to date a brown/+religious dude.
It was a survey done by the statistics bureau, and (i think) they dobbel surveyed it because they were surprised to find that the majority of ethnic nationals had this belief.
Very interesting. At first, I was thinking it was a nice thing Clinton said but realized after Hasan's explanation it was not a nice thing. I kinda just heard the beginning nice "stay here" and discounted the end. What is so surprising in the past couple of years is that I have changed some of my long-held beliefs. We are, after all, the sum total of our upbringing, experiences, race, religion, etc. It is amazing how much a person can learn, if they listen, no matter what age.
@Truth Seeker Duh..! Did the mods over at that Indian news publication FINALLY kicked you off their systems? If so, whatabout your "gazillion" other compatriots?
@Truth Seeker NICE...!!!°
7:18 - 7:25 YES. This is why Patriot Act is worth watching.
It is time for ALL PoC to reclaim their identities. Repatriation isn't just about taking back land.
All the way from 4:09!
When he was narrating the Bill Clinton story and in the end he said "and that's when I started working on the Patriot Act", I legit stood up and gave him an applause. Like that is commendable mate. That is fucking amazing.
Lindsey Graham would probably know a good recipe for a mint julep. I'd go with him.
But you could swim to safety on McConnell's back...
And if you tried hard enough he could give you avatar powers too.
And store food in his neck.
But Lindsey Graham would have the best John McCain stories
@@Ashtarte3D - I don't normally wish death or serious injury on anyone, even horrible people like certain politicians, but I laughed hysterically at your comment. 😆
Tryna decide which of the 3 would die soonest.
@@Ashtarte3D I hear turtle soup is a thing. Just sayin...
When a person is genuinely talented, success comes knocking on the door sooner than later. Dude kills it every time.
Okay, but we need to see those clips of uncle Najme roasting Hassan.
To seamlessly transition between comedy and serious matters and keep everyone equally engaged is an art form Hasan has perfected
Only 2 people laughed when Hassan said Bill Clinton opens for her 5:18 . Me and a lady in the audience. We need prayers😂😂. Good thing i wasn't there
You sure it's not at 6:35?
This show is so vital. So necessary. Thank you Netflix for giving Hasan a show. We truly needed his perspective. I am endlessly grateful.
Absolutely awesome! Brilliant! You've risen to a great challenge and raised the bar for the rest of us! 👍👍👍
Is it only me or does anyone else feel that Hassan's laugh is super hilarious? like it is one of those laughs that sounds sarcastic n leaves u all confused but at the same time is contagious so u end up laughing! 😂😂😂
the music on this show is 🔥🔥🔥
I'm going back to rewatch this and it's reminding me of how much I miss patriot act..... bring it back netflix!!!
I love these behind the scenes segments, funny questions and answers! The origin of Patriot Act being almost a response to Clinton's ignorance to muslims' experiences is pretty great.
I freakin love this show. I love this representation of PoC in the media. I will recommend this show to everyone who is open minded enough to engage in meaningful debate and care about PoC. The way he explains things is so brilliant! Keep it up bro!
Ive been wondering where the hell that outfit was Ive been so bitter
Got to know now?
I am an Indian muslim.. how do I learn how to speak like hasan..his oratory skills are amazing!
Keep practicing! Standup comedy is essentially constantly refining a speech (a set of jokes) to figure out what works, what doesn't, and just getting confident in yourself.
@Truth Seeker Stop believing everything your PM says..your logical thinking would improve!
I just wish all accents could be respected the same!
Are you sure you're not talking about accents? Because another fella 'just' expressed the same hunch I had.
Speak in your native language.
Thank you! So many of us white Americans are unaware of what others are dealing with. Thank you Hasan for taking the time to explain it to us. Hopefully we are smart enough to pay attention, and be grateful that someone is willing to take the time to explain to us our mistakes. I cannot speak for everyone, but I personally am very grateful.
i love these Q&A vids; keep them coming!
Yoo this is the best thing out there right now can’t wait for every episode
I am not gonna take my humanity from bill F. clinton.
that was great man.
"Your Dad crushed!" - "Yeah, ME!"
Right "He crushed my SPIRIT"
I never liked him on the daily show, but watching this show his personality finally comes through, his jokes are funny he’s v. relatable and I’m v. happy I gave this show a chance on Netflix.
This guy's funny... gonna have to watch these shows.
I love him. His Bill Clinton response was so spot on. Keep doing you, Hasan. We love it. 👍🏼💜
I'm loving these Deep cuts clips👏🌌
Love this! Especially the last segment. Can't wait for new eps.
That last bit... the beginning of your journey and look at you now! Such a powerful story!
Amazing levels of story telling. keep doing amazing work.
Sorry to be that PC guy, but as an indigenous person it is a bit disappointing to hear Spirit Animal in a colloquial haha way. It is something extremely important to out First Nations folk. I am not telling you to stop saying it, anyone can say what they please, I just wanted to add my two cents and remind people that Native people are still here and we hear these things.
I think he used that term as a joke for white people who use it. Hassan switches voices from his Bay Area accent to Valley Girl
thanks for letting me know, I honestly didn’t know that this was offensive or had any other connotation, I will make sure not to use it in the future
that made me pause too! i hope he sees your comment or someone passes it along that the term holds spiritual importance and shouldn't be used as a joke :(
Yeah I love Hasan but that stood out to me too. Most likely he didn’t know, because he seems very respectful usually.
Please don't apologize for being "PC" - talking about your experiences and asking that your cultural beliefs and traditions be respected is just asking for respect as a human being. I hope that Hasan sees your comment. Thank you for explaining about Spirit Animals to us and why Hasan's use of it was offensive. All the best to you, Kirby3585!
Brother hasan you are awesome ! Inspiring story
MORE OF THIS PLEASE!!
Much love and respect Mr. minhaj
more love amd success inshalla
Watching Deep Cuts on loop!
That first desert island question is easy... who'd you rather eat?
So... Turtle soup?
I see you everywhere lol.
You fooled me with you profile picture. Good thought.
We really need this kind of content
Hope they post more of these. Hasan is straight killing it so far with Patriot Act.
The last question about the origin story of the Patriot Act really hits deep. I'm so grateful that someone is finally telling the story from our perspective.
Wow! I didn't expect that ending. That was deep and so inspirational
You are an inspiration man!!!
It is a wonderful start of inspiration for others to look in different views. Love the show Patriot act.
Loved this! 👏👏👏👏👏
Hasan, Loved the shows!! You be rockin' this savant's patriotic old heart ~ thank you! Wishing you all good things your way.
Damn. This show is and will continue to be amazing.
Wow the last part was intense! You're doing a great job Hasan.
Hasan, please keep uploading these Deep Cuts, we need more of your unscripted comedic wisdom. (If that's even a term)
I just stood and clapped for the last answer. You know when you think about a certain issue a certain way and the someone just totally change your thinking about that. More power to you Hasan👏👏
I am really loving what you are doing with this show!
You are amazing. Loving your show so far
Wow that last bit really got me.
Last Q&A is really amazing..
I'm glad you got your own show!
I saw that sweater 😁, and the video is amazing. Brings me so much joy .
the last bit!
I could listen to him all day and not get bored.
This is Amazing!!
Cool format/technique
I've been wondering about the outfit too!!
I hadn't heard of Hasan before seeing the clip of him and Tan, so I wasn't familiar with him at all, and after watching the first couple eps of the show I liked him but wasn't quite sure how I felt about him beyond that. His answer to the last question in this clip was the clincher for me, and I'm sad it wasn't included in the episode, because now I feel like I have a better understanding of where he's coming from - that he's doing this from a place of sincerity and frustration that I get, that I think is really important and will be what sets his show apart.
I need this awesome sound track of the show
He is so quick on his feet!!!!! Just amazing!!!!!
Love, all the way from Egypt.
Good luck for the show!
Yep.
Here we are🙌
so much love from Dhaka, Bangladesh...……..love your show , did much marketing of ur show at my university mates
God, I could listen to him talk for hours!
Thank you
LOVE YOUR SHOW SOO MUCH !!!!!!!
Hasan ur killing it in the game .......keep on shinning 💖
I'd rather be stuck on an island with "drump".... I mean, having him stuck on an island would be enough of a reward even if I were there.
Wow! just wow! Much respect Hasan!
very down to earth. love him
I love this segment as much as the main one. Go Hassan!
Crushed it👏🏻
the beat at the end is AWESOME. Is there a full version somewhere?
I love these kind of videos. It reminds me of the "Between the Scenes" videos from the Daily Show, which are great.
Love you Hasan. Especially for this
i have so much respect for you!!
That last part. Respect tho💝
Love Hasan! This was super powerful
That last answer was so on point
Awesome 👍 keep going, May Allah bless you with all the success here after.
