My daughter has been complaining to be me, that she has to use her high beams at night cause her headlights were dull and faded. So I tried your method. WOW! what a difference. Not only does it look new, its also safe for her to drive at night without using high beams.. Thank you so much.
Our pleasure Jerry!! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your stupendous results, we really appreciate it, hope you have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC

@@SweetProjectCars everyone has an air compressor powered buffer wheel.
I've tried every hack out there to restire the lights on my 08 tundra. Minimal results and repeating process made me order new headlight assemblies from rock auto. Long story short, came across this video and figured what the hell. New headlight assemblies are on way back to rick auto and my headlights look better than new. You sir deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for saving the millions struggling over foggy headlights.
Nick Stosz thank you very much we truly appreciate that my friend :)
Thank you for all the tips good job
This trick has been known for a long time I'm surprised not many knew about it. It's basically a compound.
@@ns671fr there is nothing like this amzn.to/2C18A9Z on the market my friend
Nick Stosz Rock Auto has little to no customer service.. No service after the sale.. They won’t answer E-Mails or Phone calls. At least they didn’t for a friend of mine.
It sure is refreshing to see an honest guy cut to the chase and eliminate the BS. Whenever I have a car/truck issue you're the first guy I go to. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks and saving me money too!
I nominate Sweet Project Cars for CZcams Creator of the Year Award. Your videos are great, never too long or promotive of certain "paid" products and truly honest. They wow me. Thanks!
Michael thank you very much my friend for your support, we try really hard to keep it real and to the point as novice video creators.
I second that!
I had some silver polish in my cupboard and thought what the hell, I'll give it a go on my extremely foggy vw Golf headlights.
Wow! 2mins later and they look like brand new sparkly clear headlights.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this info with everyone.
We used to use the (I'd swear it's the same stuff) paste marketed for polishing instruments back in high school for stuff like this. It's great for so many things. Do wear gloves, though. Also, it WILL permanently ruin most clothes it gets on.
Worked Great! I love how so many are getting offended in the comments, most of us are just trying to touch up the family minivan not our Shelby Cobra.
lotta mean jealous trolls out there
Sweet Project Cars is very good work and very smart
Thnaks
Lol my family van is my work van 😂
It's not so much they are offended, some of us are professionals and know first-hand that Mother's aluminum polish won't work on most headlight deterioration. At least not long-term since it does not contain any UV properties. But hands down it looks great!!
@@JC-mx1mk my friend we no mothers has no UV protection that's why we use the 303 and this czcams.com/video/hD2CKp9mco0/video.html for the ultimate protection :) TY mike

I will definitely try this on my dad's car. I've been looking into using the different grit wet sanding route but you sir has given me a better path :)
I had a plastic skylight that looked just like your demo car headlights. I decided to give your tip a try. WOW! What a difference. Thanks for the great tip!

Going to try this on my 2003 Honda Odyssey, they're famous for f'ed up headlight lenses. I have it really bad, if it works on my headlights it should work on any headlight assembly. Just curious, you suggest just some Aerospace 303 as a polish after restoration?? I would think that unless it's specifically made for clear plastic, 303 might actually speed up the reclouding, but I'll follow your lead. I'll report back once it's done.
can i use turtle metal polish?

Just did this with my 2010 Toyota Yaris! OMGOODNESS they were so completely yellow covered, you just couldn’t even make out the lights behind them. This worked so well! Some things I discovered though is since I’m a small framed female handling that large buffer took practice! My headlights were so bad off that it took about three applications on each headlight, but so proud of myself for accomplishing the task, and so grateful for your experience, guidance, and expertise to get both headlights done in 20 minutes flat! YAYYY!!! Thank you so much again!
Awesome, Ambur! So glad we could help, thank you for watching and sharing your fantastic results, have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Just did this today. It worked just like u said. Very simple & the results were just what I wanted!!
Sanding would have been quicker!
Had to replace drivers headlight assembly in my mom's '13 GMC Acadia Denali due to a jacked-up socket. (Yes probably my fault). Therefore the passenger side looked worse than its age. I followed the steps here on 12/28/23 and what an amazing result! Simply incredible. Even the smallest pitting was removed. Going back over it tomorrow. The LEDs are back to white as opposed to an amber color due to the yellowing. Need to locate the 303. Thank you for your video and saving me an additional $1400!!!
did this this morning to wife's Lexus and what a difference, I bought all those other kits but this is by far the fastest and easiest way. thank you for introducing me to 303
What is the 303
I just did this today to my Jeeps 17 year old yellow and faded headlights. They look new again! Amazing!
lowriderrt2000 They really do? I need to buy some and try this out. My Honda 6 years old needs this.
thurm101 I can honestly say this works. I thought for less then $8 what did I have to lose? It's way cheaper then buying new headlights. I even did my taillights.

I didn’t have a electric polisher. But I gave it a try and used a micro fibre cloth to buff the mother’s Polish off. Bit of elbow grease, took about 10 min. Wow amazing, blown away. Thanks, greatest advice ever, can’t wait to see your other tips.
Good Deal glad we could help you my friend
I finally bit the bullet and cleaned up my headlights using this process. Mixed results for me but I think that's user error, so I've learned a lot! First headlight I didn't keep moving the polisher enough so heated up a small spot on the headlight too much so it burned slightly....second headlight looks amazing, so thanks for the amazing video :)
Sweet ! Just ordered some mama's to get my lights fixed. Cheers that man
Fantastic worked great after trying a lot of different methods
One of my favorite CZcams videos. Right to the point. Very informative. And this works very very well. I have had success using a micro fiber bonnet on my polisher but definitely recommend the waffle style foam pad so as to minimize the heat issue. I used to wet sand headlights to restore them. Not anymore. This just kicks ass
Thank you very much, our pleasure to help! Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC

Just did this on my 2001 996 yellowing “fried eggs” and it worked to get the yellow out. Definitely quick and easy. Can’t compare to the multi step sanding and then polishing since I’ve never tried it but I can definitely say they look better if not “perfect”. But sometimes “better” is good enough. Thanks for the tip! Cheers
Awesome Nick! Thank you for watching and sharing your results, we really appreciate it. Hope you have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC

You made it look so simple and effective there is toothpaste there is compound of polish in different Sam papers and you're absolutely correct everyone's got aluminium polish in Australia we call it Alto soul inner tube who would have guessed that's all you need thanks mate thumbs up great video
I'm digging my mother's aluminum polish out of the garage as soon as possible. I don't feel like taping, sanding, rubbing & smoothing and jerking the lamps off for three hours ' . Great news can't wait to try it ! 😉👍😎🇺🇸
Nice, you will love the results Toniche! Thanks for watching and sharing, we appreciate it. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Was inspired to try this. Got the Mothers Aluminium polish today ($16 AUD) and used my drill gun and rotary buffing pad. Both headlights on my car were lightly oxidised and hazy, all around each visor. Took longer than 3 minutes because I took the time to mask off the adjacent panels and wipe the headlights at various times to check progress before continuing on. Let me tell you, this really worked. No sanding at all. Took me 30 minutes to do both headlights. I'd never go back to sanding these ever again and I certainly wouldn't pay anyone else to do it. This works!
Arthur that's great to hear and thankyou for your testimony :) thank you very much for the great comment and we appreciate you being here with us...:)
how long does it last
You're a life saver bro. My 06 Accord definitely needs this.
Just bought a 97 Acura 2 days ago, headlights in sorry shape.
Foggy and someone sprayed black something to dim the sides of the light array.
Found you at sunset, found my Mother's and a rag and gave it a go for about 10 mins on each.
All elbow grease, and the current results are great.
It's even thinning the black over-spray.
I have more elbow grease for when I have daylight again.
Thank You, you Rock!
Dawn thank you very much glad to hear that and elbow grease will work well if you’ve got enough of it good job

I'm a professional dealer in UK, he's completely correct, you don't need umpteen products and spend half hour or more cleaning your headlight lenses, 3M cutting compound, or T Cut here in UK ( if only lightly faded ) and that GM pad on the end of a drill .... and hey presto! .....good enough to pass MOT and look a million times better, why waste money and time? great video and advice.
Broomehall thanks for sharing my friend mike
I used a pre packed kit when I 1st bought my AMG 6years ago, & the sanding back all the old clear coating properly sweating my R's off for about 3 hours, then the application of the clear coating didn't take long & I was wrapped with them looking brand new. Once a year I hit them with a buff & wax that kept them decent, but this last year I just wasn't happy with them anymore'. So was ready to do this major crappy job all over again, or spend 70 bux with a 2 step Maguires kit. Then I saw your video & this morning I went outside, grabbed my 3/4 tin of Mothers, & my buff, & in less than 10 minutes they have turned my lights better than they ever had, (brand new). Thanks so much for passing this knowledge on, & whoever passed it on to you! I Mothers sealed ,& glazed them, then Mother's Carnauba Waxed them, and am stoked with how perfect they are. Thanks again man, I owe you a beer.

YES BUT ! You Will Have To Sand It With 1500 Or 2000 Grit IF It Is Really Scratched Up...If Not Then Hit The Living Tar Out Of It will metal polish
if you do that can you get acetone or alcohol to remove oils from the wax to clear coat for a forever shine

@@SweetProjectCars definitely! sent lots of folks your way. Would you recommend any kind of coating to prevent this sort of build up?
Joshxt i would do this to make them last for years and years czcams.com/video/hD2CKp9mco0/video.html
I used mothers mag and aluminum polish on my friends very yellow headlights. Didn't even use a drill or dremel or any rotary device. Just a foam pad and paper towel to buff the excess off. Worked great on it and makes a huge difference just with some elbow grease.
Good to hear that smart thinking and with a little effort you have shown people that anything can be done have a great day mad Mike sweet project cars

I just tried this on my ‘95 Town Car and the results were amazing. I liked it so much I also did my ‘03 Honda Odyssey and that turned out great also. If time and money is short this is an excellent alternative. Thanks!!!
Nice work Chris! Thank you for watching and sharing your results, have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
We watched your video and thankfully we had the Mothers mag polish, unfortunately we couldn't find our buffing pad (5 sons). Husband used good old elbow grease, turned out beautiful!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Linda Shelton thats great to hear we could help and thanks for the great comment :))
What kind of cloth did you use without the buffer?
@@charliejones7585 yes Great question, how to do it by hand please peeps? What cloth works best?
Michael Paterson low GSM microfiber lol they have a more grittier texture
I think I used too much grease 😳
I have a 95 chevy k 1500 with extremely cloudy headlights. I was getting ready to order replacements when I came across this video. I had my doubts about this fix but figured I would give it a shot since I already have the mothers polish and small buffing pads. To my surprise it did an amazing job compared to what they originally looked like. They are not perfect but vastly better then before I did this. Thanks for the tip.
I tried this with the good old elbow grease mother aluminum polish and a soft dish washing pad and it still worked it’s been six months now.. thanks for the amazing tip.
Muhammad Ashiq glad to hear that my friend thank you very much we truly appreciate that:)
Thanks for this video! I was able to restore the headlights on my car to nearly new!
