Baby gorilla Gandai and her keepers at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

- Four-month-old gorilla Gandai is being raised temporarily by keepers at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. She was removed from her deaf mother because of safety concerns, but they are expected to be reunited in a few months, when Gandai has met certain developmental milestones.
She is just adorable! Love her big eyes. Build up those muscles, Gandai! You have lots of playing and climbing ahead of you!
And eventually mauling some fools maybe? (Pounds chest furiously) ahhhhhh!

These animals aren't lacking anything they would receive from the wild other than potential harm. They are living in a hotel. If I were these apes, I would absolutely prefer being spoiled over being thrown out into the forest. Plus these types of humane zoo's give so many opportunities for the well being, and healthy breeding for the species.

I'd bet the keepers are very well versed at their jobs & are doing everything necessary for this baby.

Why isn't she with her mother? If she rejected her it's likely due to how stressful zoos are.
@@bellona6356 I don't know this baby's situation but sometimes mom can't produce milk so needs to be hand reared for several months and then can go back to their family.
