I have both. He should’ve mentioned the red wolf shoots airsoft bbs. They’re both unique. Both worth getting. Painted the airsoft version. It looks amazing. And shoots hard. They nerf will get the same paint treatment. I can see that one being a preferred cosplay gun since its so light weight and shoots safe darts.

I also was surprised he didn't mention that. And the fact that he didn't understand that's what the front battery port was for. This is probably one of the worst reviews I've ever seen because that's a huge factor in the price point and the difference between the two

Yeah i have the Snow wolf in olive and it is heavy , great fun to shoot. i deactivated the grenade launcher so that i could get a lipo battery in there, with the 26 BBs per second fire rate it feels even more like the movie rifle :). I certainly would not have done a review without a full demonsrtation.

Little late to the game here, but I have two of the matrix (snow wolf) airsoft pulse rifles. Mine are both kitted out to have red dots with one mimicking my Aliens:colonial marines loadout with a suppressor and is crazy accurate. The other is as close as I could make it to hudsons rifle while retaining the optic. Since I play airsoft and I had to rebuild the mag well so the guns can be reloaded without having to look in the magwell which makes the gun fieldable vs hoping you never have to reload, if only i could get some spare mag covers. I too also painted both of my olive pulse rifles with olive drab to make the color more accurate. Anyway I plan to paint my hasbro one that has yet to be out of the box in the Alien 3 treatment of black and silver to be different since I already have two green pulses. Pretty cool to see many others are like me with having both versions.

For us here in the UK the Hasbro is a blessing, moderately sure we can't own a realistic looking (imitation) firearm here without a valid proveable reason to need one, so the Nerf rifle is the closest we'll ever get. I generally agree with _why_ it's the case so no complaints, just nice to get something. No-one's really checking to make sure people aren't spraying them, as long as they're not being waved around outside.

You are a registered member of an active airsoft site and get your registration validated at least 3 times (getting signed off when you play). 3. If you can prove in writing with evidence that you are a member of a reenactment society or film/tv industry (armourer etc). So if you comply with any of these you can legally purchase the Snow Wolf or other pulse rifle airsofts in UK (if you can find one in stock lol).
The really daft thing in the UK is that you can buy a realistic looking actual airgun (not airsoft), so spring, CO2 etc that fires metal pellets or BB's just by being over 18. So if someone were to make a CO2 metal BB version of the pulse rifle they'd make a fortune lol.

I'm not sure that an M41A pulse rifle would really be considered a RIF, as long as you're not waving it around in public? Then again I've seen star wars fans in full stormtrooper uniforms waving E11 blasters and the DLT 19 (barely greebled up MG-34 machine gun) around at the train station and no one batted an eye lid. This was in 2019. Your mileage may vary.

I have both ( my Snow Wolf is 5 years old, btw ) and it is very satisfying to shoot the airsoft version. Yes, the Remington 370 shotgun in it did have a trigger in the lower front shroud. The Pulse rifle is based on a Thompson Sub machine gun and a Remington 370 shotgun ( the Snow Wolf uses a Tokyo Maru airsoft Thompson ). The front cage is from a Franchis Spas 12 shotgun, but turned around. The original props had the shrouds made out of fiberglass, and not aluminum as some else here had commented. There were only 3 that were live fire for realism. All of them were torn down after the production and used in other movies. For A3, they rebuilt one for live fire, but had a reproduction shroud that was black. It is the one you see at the end when the Bishop android was struck by an inmate and he ran, thus being shot. The iconic sound was actually the real fire in reverse ( inverse audio ).

The original did have a trigger on the magazine shroud. Which also worked on the "hero props", since they were based on real guns and the grenade launcher was a shotgun that was chopped to fit there. All were based on working guns because James Cameron wanted to be as realistic as possible when being used on set. If you see the gun used as the grenade launcher (Remington 870 shotgun), the trigger is in the exact position where that hole is in the magazine shroud.

About all the little details that they could have easily gotten right: It's an absolute rule that no toy can ever be completely accurate, regardless of there being no practical reason for it not to be. Even if it would be completely easy for the company to get it 100% right and there's no practical reason that they couldn't, they will always, Always, ALWAYS, make sure that there are a bunch of details that don't match the original.
Do you remember when the movie Small Soldiers came out? They produced a line of large-scale figures to go with the movie and I figured that since it was a toy line, based on fictional toys in a movie, that they would be just like the ones in the movie (minus being sentient). Nope, the toys looked like crap compared to the movie versions.
Full Moon Pictures had a pretty successful franchise in the Puppetmaster series, so of course they decided to put out "collectible" toys of the puppets. Since they're already pretty small in the movies, the toys were the same size and movie accurate, right? Nope, not even close.
A couple decades ago, the company Playmates put out a line of Star Trek toys that were supposed to be as accurate as you could get without buying expensive prop replicas. Two of the ones they put out were the classic phaser and communicator. Did they make the type-1 phaser detachable, even if it was only a non-working plastic piece? Nope. Did they make the communicator trigger the sound effect by just opening the lid? Nope, you had to press a button. Worse, instead of simply screwing a metal belt clip to the back, they molded a big, thick plastic clip, so that it can't sit down on a flat surface!

It's it really a rule and conspiracy in the industry or it just something that is hard to achieve and short cuts and cost saving tweaks are done?

      @lurkerrekrul Před rokem

@@mariuscinematicuniverse It's probably not an official rule, it's just something that always seems to apply.
Many years ago, some company put out what were for the time, large, detailed figures of Robocop and The Terminator Endoskeleton. They made some questionable decisions with Robocop, like giving him a "skeletal" hand with an extendable data spike, and covering it in metallic blue plating, but the Terminator figure was a little more accurate.
They made some decisions that make sense from a toy perspective, like making the forearms a solid part with the hydraulic cylinders just cast into it, and giving the biceps an additional support piece on the inside. Then they put a swivel at both the elbow and the wrist, which effectively do the same thing. They could have fixed the wrist to the arm and just had it swivel at the elbow, which would have been semi-realistic (you can't rotate your wrist without your arm moving too). However the thing that bugged me was that they didn't add any way for the arms to move from side to side, like putting your right hand on your left arm. They could have easily added a swivel joint at the shoulder, or even at the elbow. So they added an unnecessary joint at the wrist and left off a (in my opinion) necessary joint in the upper arm.
Oh, they also made his rifle a little too small and molded it out of clear plastic for some reason. And while they did release a chromed version of the figure, I could only find the "battle damaged" version, which just amounted to it having a dull silver finish with some dark paint to simulate scorch marks.

I have the airsoft M41A replica and it’s really good. Very realistic looking & heavy but expensive. I don’t have the Nerf gun but it would be cool for kids/teenagers or playing around with. The airsoft version is too expensive to risk breaking in play. The extending stock feature is cool but when I re-watched the Aliens movie I never saw the Marines put the rifle to their shoulder lol. Not good shooting practice.

The retractable stock is fun, and its nice that it's functional. But yea, they might not have used it in the movies :) It's definitely too heavy, and expensive to run around with. Unless you use it as an airsoft, but apparently its not great as an airsoft.
