I have been in practice 36 yrs. Started my own practice went into debt with x-ray, drop tables etc. The first yr or so was tough but now I work 3 days per week and have a great practice with lots of referrals and no advertising. 6 figures is easy. My home is paid for so is my office and all equipment, money in the bank, retirement account etc. I'm now ready to retire so my practice will be going up for sale. My biggest advice is treat people the way you want to be treated.
It was easier 36 years ago, wouldn’t you say?
Nice video! Be careful with associateships! A lot of the time you get taken advantage of and get overworked and underpayed! Although I am sure there are good ones out there! There are many sharks in our profession so you need to be careful! Opening your own practice with a great coaching group is usually the best way to go! I have also heard good things about Amped!
Thanks for the tips!
Retired optometrist here--- Chiropractic doesn't have a monopoly on getting taken advantage of and being underpaid-- I have observed that other optometrists are the worst enemies of recent graduate optometrists--- Know your worth and don't work for less than your worth. Do Well, then do Good.
Wow. After 35 years I know a little about this subject. When you graduate, go to law school. You will have hundreds of chiropractors referring to you. You can do law school in One and a half years if you go summers like chiropractic school. Paying back all student loans will not be a problem no matter how much you borrow if you go to law school. Dental school is easier than chiropractic school I was told by a chiropractor who went to both. It will be almost impossible to make enough money as a DC. The people who did the best were the super salesmen who only cared about money. If you don’t follow my advice, you will look back, years from now and say, “You were right, old hoss, you were right”.
Hi! I'm so happy to have found this channel! I'm from Belgium and doing a lot of research about studying Chiro in England (AECC). I still have 1 year to go but your videos really help simplify my choice!! :D
Aweee love it!!! Feel free to reach out with any questions!
Thanks guys! This video was very insightful for me. I'm currently in school now, but good to know for the future.
Court you seem so so chill. Obviously think about your future, but don't rush into anything. You seem like you have really good intuition, go with your gut girl!! ✨ you got this! 🌿🚌
Awe thank you so much for the love and support Aamaria
You both have Brains and Beauty, a hard combination to beat!
I graduated from Life 35 years ago. If I had to start over I would associate with a successful DC regardless of the pay. Learn then move on. On your own you have to be on insurance panels or you are out of luck. Your biggest stress will be how to deal with employees. A bad CA can ruin your practice very quickly. Best is to associate with a retiring DC. Also you can't travel around without a state license where you are. Also a big one is to not take a long time with patients like you had to do at school. They are in a hurry. Starting in practice I visualized what I would earn my first year and second year and I was spot on. Also I spent as little as possible on equipment buying used stuff mostly. Never had a lean year. When you go to get your CEs talk to others and see what they are doing.
Awesome, thank you for the tips!!!
I will be attending Chiropractic school next month so please understand that I'm absorbing as much info as I can before I go, LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! With regard to associateships indifferent offices, don't we have to be licensed in a particular state, in that respect how can one travel across the the country??? Of course, I'm looking at it as being similar to a traveling nurse
oh, I don't see Sidney's info. I'm sure you gals will be hearing from me again :) Still loving your channel!!!
Correct, you have to be licensed in what ever state you plan on practicing in! Thank you so much, so happy to be a part of your journey!
Hi, Court! I’m new to your videos, and I have a question for you! I apologize if it is too personal, but I’m really curious how you finance your life while going to school full time for 4 years. Like how do you pay your rent, groceries, car, and any other bills? Loan reimbursement? Personal savings? A job while at school? As someone who is considering going to chiropractic school, I’m so curious as to where your money for living during school comes from. Thank you for any information you can offer! You’re awesome, and I look forward to watching more of your videos 🤩
I have to take out student loans!
A 6 figure Chiropractic business?
Can be!
Every year since 1989 for me.
