Insight for young folks thinking about health care professions: I considered being a chiropractor years ago. Ultimately, I practiced optometry for 30 years...Optometry, chiropractic & podiatry are not compensated for the miserable 8 years of college & professional school. During the 4 years of grad school, my classmates from undergraduate, bought homes while I watched home prices rise. I bought a home for much more after graduating optometry school. Self employed doctors get no employer benefits. Self employed = no paid vacation, sick days, employer contribution to 401K, Liability insurance. Self employed doctors have to pay both sides of social security tax, while employed doctors only pay half of it. (12.4% for social security (old-age, survivors, and disability insurance) and 2.9% for Medicare (hospital insurance). Figure employer benefits as 30% of your compensation. My son is a commercial pilot and has great benefits and income of over $175,000. If you feel a spiritual need to be in optometry, chiropractic or podiatry, go for it; otherwise, don't put yourself through it ... Good luck and blessing to all.
i discovered your channel last night. thank you for putting this out there, this is exactly what i’ve been looking for. i have been going to a chiropractor myself for the past 10 years and interned by one for 6 months after high school. i decided it wasn’t for my and went to get a degree in another area. i am looking back into it. your channel is very informative. thank you

So inspiring to watch as I hope to attend Life University next year! I have been contemplating it for so long since it will be far from home and a disciplined career to work for. Did you graduate with a Bachelors, if so which degree? And do you know anything more about the Bachelors and Chiropractor degree at the same time because that was interesting to me! I am studying interpretation at Macquarie University in Sydney and once I finish my interpretation school, I am going to study Chiropractic! One question! How often do you do intermittent fasting? Aren't you hungry during the morning? I did before and my stomach was growling during the class and it's annoying lol.. anyway thanks for sharing again and I will see you in the next videos!
Hi!! That's awesome, so excited for you. I currently intuitively intermittent fast. It did take me a little bit of time to for my body to get accustomed to it since it was used to eating right in the morning. Drinking water or tea helped to keep my stomach from growling. :)

Hi! I'm supposed to be starting Life University a year from now (long story ). I am trying to get some information about the state exam. Do you know if the students take the state exam every year or is it one big state exam to be licensed? Please help! Lol
Hi you take 4 parts of board in order to get your license, and then take separate state boards depending on what state you want to practice in. I think the state exam has to be renewed every year.
I have a few questions haha 1) Do they have dorms or are you living alone in an apartment?? 2) When do you work? it seems like schools takes up so much time that you cant get a job haha. If one career doesnt work out for me I want to be a chiropractor so Im justlooking at a few college for that lol :)

Hello! We do have several classes on nutrition, but if you are highly interested in studying it I would recommend following what you love. I also am interested in nutrition, and do a lot of my own research about it outside of school!

How is the D.C. program cost per semester/year?
Always shocks me to see the sheer size of the American colleges. I study in Barcelona and we have about 100 students. I think you had that only in the KTC club haha

We have an undergraduate program with different degree options! There is also a track where you can complete undergrad and go to chiropractic school at the same time.
