- This Sunday I am so pleased to share with you all "Hallelujah" played on the Bagpipe. An utterance of the word “hallelujah” as an expression of worship or rejoicing.
This beautiful Modern Air was a special request from a Veteran's Family and one that I had been wanting to learn for a long while. It makes it more special knowing that this was a song that was a favorite of one of our Veterans. It brought so much peace and healing to the family and brought so much joy to me as the Bagpiper. I know that the Angels were singing the day I played this and I hope that it brings a sense of peace and comfort to all who listen.
Tune History:
"Hallelujah" is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, originally released on his album Various Positions in 1984. The song has been used in film and television soundtracks and televised talent contests. "Hallelujah" experienced renewed interest following Cohen's death in November 2016 and appeared on many international singles charts, including entering the American Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. Hallelujah also increased popularity after being featured in the film Shrek in 2001.

Kind of reminds me of the Red Rocks of Colorado. I’m a 11 1/2 year US Army Veteran & I served in Colorado.
About the only place I could think of to beat this location would be the Red Rocks Amphitheater with its acoustic brightness... you'd sound like a whole band. At least like 4-6 pipers.
I love that there were bikers passing by! Bet they don't often hear pipers on the trail!!
I live in Taylor az another beautiful place in az. Both of my dads parents who have passed on where in bagpipe bands in South Africa 🇿🇦. Many years ago. My grandfather played what I call the spinny drums, my grandmother was a dancer. I guess bagpipes r in mah blood!🏴🏴 long live Scotland

This was recently played at my fathers funeral. You literally just brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful song.

I heard some bagpipes players walking through our street in a posse against poverty. This instruments gives me goosebumps all over my body. All electronics Bye-bye, there is not one instrument that can give me this feeling. Bad English
Now that is one huge amphitheatre, the sound must have been fantastic.
From a first responder this is touching. I miss your songs. We had a funeral for a former fire chief in a neighboring department so sad. Your songs keep me going when I'm down.

I knew a piper in 2 SCOTT who played that very song in a small cafe bar in Gemona del Friuli. He's passed on.

Very nice. Thank you! This is a different arrangement than I've heard others play. I like this arrangement because you don't have to change octaves. I've played along and did my own thing with grace notes and embellishments but was wondering if you have the music written out for it so I can play it with embellishments as is done with a more expert player than I am. Would be much appreciated!!

@@joannedenison7650 so because I once had a great great grandmother that had Egyptian in her you think that makes me Egyptian 😳...I'm Scottish/Irish and it's just strange to see all these Americans harp back to some ancestor they never even met....why can't she be proud of her own country...I just think it's strange ..it's rather sweet that she admires my culture but I can't help but feel a bit strange...American people won't wear feathers braids and American heritage but this lady is happy to use mine....it feels like she is respecting one but not the other ...
