I got to meet all three of them at the Cinco de Mayo festival in Sacramento (Baby Bash, Frankie J and more were also there!) when I was 12 (2005), and I got to meet them and get their autograph! I think I still even have it somewhere. MC Magic was an absolute dick and it felt like a chore for him to say hi, whereas Zig Zag and Dos were great! Super sweet, friendly, thankful. I was freaking 12. So I never liked Magic after that. Dude was a dick.
Wow not surprised so many locally in Phoenix don't care for Magic the way he is revered outside of Arizona. Many believe its because the music genre has always been geared towards females fans being the primary focus. That is why it's a shock he treated you this way. How soon he forgot he came from making tapes at Park and Swap on 40th Street and Washington. Magic has a David Ruffin/Diana Ross complex thinking he was the primary talent cause he took advantage of the Roger voice box. Lyrically he wasn't anywhere near being Ice Cube of the group and females weren't looking at him like he was that dude all the females wanted to throw their panties on stage at. I recall on the streets of Phoenix his music was known as Eating Pu**y genre.
Ziggy lived a sheltered life growing up in Glendale, you 100% right homie too many real azz choose & gangstas in Phoenix, not sure why he said that bullsh*t that foo did plenty of cruisin on South Side Central Ave so I know personally he saw firsthand some real azz cholos. Ziggy might be a little delusional and misguided. Cool as hell but still not knowing the real or imo pretending and wanting to give LA their props by throwing Phoenix under the bus.
I like this podcast but i believe that hip hop should be united ...not just chicano rap.... nasty boys is different genre from ODM lighter shade of brown... But i feel that hip hop has seperate Chicano latino and treat them differently.... And it shouldn't be that... Chicano rap is hip hop latino hip hop Is hip hop...... Is not black hip hop or white hip hop.......much love to th pioneers who paved the way for the new generation
