For starter villain, Straizo is potentially more dangerous than Dio or even part 3 DIO. He doesn't toy with his prey, going straight for the kill, had a Hamon conductor that made it hard to use Hamon attacks against him and could regenerate on his own without needing to drawing life energy first, something the time stopping vampire couldn't do on his own. If this guy was the final threat in Part 1, he'd be a much bigger threat in Part 2, let alone if he himself had The World.

Dio was much more deadly in Part 1 than Straizo was in Part 2. Straizo regards Dio testing his limits as a weakness, but it's actually a strength. By better understanding what his new body was exactly capable of, Dio was able to mold himself into a threat the likes of which Jonathan couldn't kill even at his best with Hamon training and several allies who were also masters of Hamon. Joseph was able to best Straizo with much less mastery over Hamon and a little slight of hand trickery. If Jonathan had fought Vampire Straizo instead of Joseph, he would have demolished him. If Joseph had to fight Dio instead of Jonathan with the same amount of experience he had against Straizo, Dio would have killed him for sure. This is especially true when you take into consideration in Part 3, Dio was able to see through Joseph's trick of wrapping himself with Hermit Purple and charging it with Hamon. He wouldn't have fallen for the slight of hand trickery as easily as Straizo. Dio is a calculating intellectual who pays careful attention to his surroundings and thinks up the best way to achieve victory or slip out of a tricky situation.

The first it did absolutely nothing due to Straizo's scarf, the second time was simply used to injure him, not kill him despite the fact it was a head strike, and he had just been blown to bits by grenades, just injure him, it was an injury Straizo could've survived had he not killed himself. The reason Joseph won was because of his tricks, because at this point Straizo was irrefutably stronger than Joseph, if Joseph only fought him with brute force and hamon then he would've lost. Jonathan didn't have the same trickery as Joseph, so if he was to face Vampire Straizo, he would've lost. His Hamon couldn't do anything against Straizo's scarf, and if Dio's head can kill Jonathan only with SRSE then I'm sure Straizo can too.
I just realized that Straizo raised Elizabeth and probably sees her as a daughter so that's why he didn't finish the "you son of a" cause he didn't want to call his daughter a bitch
this is one of the dub scenes that is so much better than the sub. Straizo's scream is so satisfying. Benjamin Diskin also does a good job almost all of Battle Tendency. Such underrated scene.
