Well, you’re certainly not wrong! One positive of the Milady I haven’t seen anyone bring up is how seamlessly the heavy attacks chain into light attacks, whether it’s held in one or two hands. R2, R1, R1 was definitely my most spammed attack pattern when facing a tough enemy. Also, wing stance with Rellana’s cameo equipped made me feel like a Sith Lord while fighting.
Good boss loadout I been experimenting with has 2 miladys, power stance attacks for chipping boss health, one got wing stance on for fancy low attack dodges thrusts second has bloodhound's step to do sick dodges
Power stancing milady is fucking so fun and amazingly good. Dodge and you can do like 3 hits that do great damage and the end is buffed by twinblade talisman meaning you can reach peak damage with just a dodge roll. Jump attacks also chain into like 3 or something so its still great. Heavies can be chained into lights and lights can be chained into heavies. Put any ash of war on it and add affinities (I went frostbite and bleed build its fucking crazy good becaus it attacks so fast and hits so hard) and its looks sleek and sexy. There are zero downsides to this weapon type and i fucking love it. My favorite weapon in the game
Milady, like a lot of the DLC weapons, is optimally used in a quality build. Cold also works really well. It seems Fromsoft saw all the complaining about quality in the base game and went out of their way to add more in the DLC.
Just in case if you were meaning the patch note about "increased dexterity scaing when assigning ashes of war with the corresponding affinity" in 1.12 that was actually a mistranslation. When you check the Japanese patch notes it says they increased the scaling for Quality Infusions. Since Quality is nearly always the worst infusion until you are really high level. But for reference Impaling Thrust is a Keen while Wing Stance is a Quality. So it depends.
IMO the light greatswords are just all S tier. ledas sword has a purge/cleanse, relannas swords well theyre probably the strongest weapon for higher levels, and milady is just chefs kiss. nothing bad to say about it.
I love the new guard counter gameplay enabled by new tear in DLC, specifically with light greatswords for some reason, although it works with many different weapons
Started my first playthrough of the DLC with Milady just recently, this video's timing was perfect! Running this build with the boosted charge attack physick is destroying bosses
I wasn’t a big fan of milady until I stuck wing stance on it staggers enemy’s nearly every time and I have low dexterity as I’m more focused on faith but it’s been incredible
I love this weapon with a half caster build, I used to rock the twinblade with ice spear or flame spear if im doing incants but the Milady clears the two blades and has one of the funnest move sets ever. I prefer to have repeating thrust or even cragblade.
Tried 2 for a bit. Went back to one. While 2 looks sick (especially with wing stance) I’m mostly using the r2 attack since it’s so smooth. Rarely used the L1 when dual weirdly. Also hits stronger when using the new 2 hand talisman. Dual weilding weapons got a huge nerf this last update too.

Just beat final dlc boss in NG+2 with this weapon. Kept impaling thrust on it too. I was using the backhand blade for awhile but Milady definitely took over as my favorite weapon in the game. Not as much damage per hit as the standard greatswords but the speed more than makes up for it.
Love this weapon. My save used for the dlc is my first playthrough, on a str/fth build. So my max heavy Milady is probably not optimal, but it honestly works.
It is awesome. As soon as I found it, I upgraded it to +25 and put the bloody blade ashes of war on it and fell in love immediately. A replace the rivers of blood for me if you haven’t found out yet I’m a hemorrhage user.

I would have to test it out for myself, but it sounds good to me! The only thing I would like to know is what the difference in motion values are between the 1 handed and 2 handed attacks
The Ash of War version is great if you have the extra carrying capacity for it, but it gives a lesser damage and damage negation boost than the incantation, along with having a 35 seconds shorter duration. So in a build like this that isn't too stat hungry, might as well go for the incantation version for the 15% buff!
Or you can take faith to 15 and take the faith tear wich adds another 10 ( this does occupy one crystal spot but for me its worth it).The ash of war comes very close with the incantation buffs buts its the duration (45sec to 90sec) that makes the difference
I was making a build around this weapon. At 60 strength it does 10 less damage then if I had 60 DEX. But the high strength let's me use a wider variety of weapons and shields. Before scaling for DEX on this weapon put your build in a calculator, and see if it's worth the investment.
I think light great swords should’ve had a higher crit rating like a 1.10 also the 2h running r1 is kinda slow on milady. I’m using milady on a dex/arcane bleed build and even with it blood infused it’ll still get a 3-4 dmg increase per point in dex and strength. Idk if that’s a bug or not cause 4 point of dmg per point in strength while blood infused with a D scaling in strength doesn’t seem right.
Great weapon even tho i didn't use that much (just while i was leveling stats for the twin light greatswords, which themselves are cool but honestly moveset has its pluses and minuses compared to Milady simplee yet stylish moves). Nice bc it's also a new weapon and moveset that can be given any ash of war, I was a big fan of raptor of the mists tor the DLC (though admittedly mostly on backhand blades lol not milady). I enjoyed wing stance a lot but yeah impaling thrust is likely just better. The cameo talisman is just too slow at least for dlc bosses at least, in base game may be really strong though to stack with shard. Also there's a lot of potential damage boosting talismans for this like the two-handed sword talisman; did you consider that for the build at all, maybe instead of millicent's prosthesis? Also realizing when two handing it's way better than the axe talisman.
I didn't consider that talismans, admittedly I didn't know about until well after I finished the DLC. Great suggestion though, I have a build on the pipeline that will greatly benefit from that talisman!
I just finished an all bosses run with it today! Some of the most fun I've had in souls honestly. What a sick weapon. Also you forgor two handed talisman, it's the goat ;)

I don't play Elden Ring so I wouldn't know the details for certain decisions but why do you raise faith to 25 when you can use an Ash of War for Golden Vow on an item like a clawmark seal?
Great question! I use the incantation instead of the Ash of War since it's overall more powerful. It gives you 2.5% more damage and damage negation, and (most importantly) lasts 80 seconds instead of 45. As for seals, clawmark seal is mainly for strength/faith builds because of its scaling. I will still work for this build. The finger seal is simply easier to get

I'm playing it in a Vampire Knight themed build with a Great Shield, Heavy armor and Blood Tax AoW, treating it as a 1-h longsword, pretty much. Build is 32 Str, 47+5 dex and a blood infusion on the weapon.
What would you guys do with the extra points w/ lvl 200 stats? I'm thinking about putting my extra points into str to lvl 40 bc it can get B/B rating, rest into dex i think?

What i think they need to fix about this weapon/class is just to give it some stagger . Heavy attacks and guardcounters for all weapons except small thrusting swords stagger. But this weapon doesn't. Making it not good enough for pve. And unless you use some talismans the damage output isn't very great. Stagger wise its like a dagger. Damage wise its close to straight swords.
@liamward4713 Depends on your stat investment. At RL150, keen or heavy will likely be better. If you want to know for sure, take note of your AR while keen or heavy. Then, infuse to quality and re-spec at Rennala if needed. The re-spec will show your AR before you spend a Larval tear. If the quality AR is higher, use that!
Of course! If you want flame skewer and a keen infusion still, just grab the iron Whetblade from Stormveil castle. Then you can have great AR and Flame Skewer!
One route you can take is add those extra points into strength and do a quality infusion instead of keen. For light armor, I would recommend the Noble's Armor. If you want medium armor, Lionel's armor or the scaled armor should work very well!

Having a 2nd channel when you only have 2k subs is pretty dumb man, you should focus on one channel. Once you get like 100k subs maybe you could consider another channel, but even then i'd say splitting your efforts is just foolish.

That's a great point about wing stance. Slap on Bloodflame Blade or blood grease, and you'll even have the right color!
That is the underrated overpowered mechanic for this weapon. Buying the dlc was worth it just for this weapon in my opinion.
Wing Stance has that wow factor of holding the stance. I feel like I am the boss, when I hold the stance and wait for the enemy to charge at me.

For my first playthrough of the DLC I used my "Free Knight Gael" character with the Marais sword but I'll be sure to try Milady with my dex character
Speaking of unrealistic ar numbers i got over 1500 ar on eleanoras poleblade in the dlc. Thats slightly absurd lol.
The combo I like to do is tap R2 for the double heavy, then R1 R1 for 2 light attack strike, then L2R2 wing stance lunge.
Got a second milady in ng+ today, my god the powerstanced light greatsword moveset goes so hard

Just an idea, you could get the Golden Vow Ash of War on a dagger and save those faith points for something else.

I would swap out Shard of Alexander with two handed talisman, since your probably end up using impaling thrust only a few times during a fight

Can I put this on a strength build
Of course! Your Ash of War won't get as much damage for the same stats on keen, but your AR will be just fine, especially if you 2 hand it!
