I wasn’t a big fan of milady until I stuck wing stance on it staggers enemy’s nearly every time and I have low dexterity as I’m more focused on faith but it’s been incredible

I would also go as far to say running the sword of darkness as well adding a debuff to holy negation for bosses.

Don't forget the true combo, amazing in pvp. The first part of the ash of war combos into an R1 at close to medium range

This weapon is fantastic. Used for my second run with my char that used mohgwyn sacred spear in the basegame (80 arc and like 24ish strength when i started using it; maybe had to level strength some lol. By mid-late dlc had gotten to 54). Initially wanted to use dragonscale gavel but that's only accessible after bayle so wanted a weapon to use in the meantime. And ended up liking this one way more than the gavel and sticking with it. Made final boss much much much more manageable than first run (and now after like 5 or 6 it's pretty manageable period). Wish there were more weapons like this, amazing moveset and mobility. Good for deflecting too since its a heavy weapon meaning both good guard and good guard counters. One thing that i found really cool tech with this was white light charge -> r1 sometimes when not enough time or wrong angle for the explosion. Plus it is usually sufficient to kill normal enemies and saves some FP. Dont remember exactly the other situations I used that in but yeah. And congrats on 16 yrs, that's crazy

IMO the light greatswords are just all S tier. ledas sword has a purge/cleanse, relannas swords well theyre probably the strongest weapon for higher levels, and milady is just chefs kiss. nothing bad to say about it.

Blasphemous blade with offhand milos sword is S tier combo. The shriek buff stacks with everything as its a weapon buff so i start off the fight with shriek then go at it dual wielding hitting L2 whenever i need to heal

The guard counter on this weapon class is nuts! It can hit multiple times.

Backhand blades really make good frost weapons cuz it gets two Bs in dex and int which really makes them viable

I became a raptor of the mists addict the day the DLC came out (but just before it came out lol) and these with raptor of the mists was my go-to for any of the hard boss fights on my first run. Didn't work for final boss tho lol. Another really excellent part is how these do pierce damage on a lot of attacks which is way better than any other type. My most recent run I've been doing the old-style of this, dual curved swords, but tbh backhand blades are so much better, having almost finished that run at this pt. But yeah the successive hit buffs are actually insane (and I only ever use the physick tear and the rotten winged sword insignia so ya).

I can name like 10 better weapons. But it’s a nice little sword if you get it in early game

Farming tip: if you're playing the co-op mod, have your friends help. Sure, a few people can make cleaning out the Nobles faster, but the real kicker is that slain enemies will roll different drops per player. Enemies you kill might not drop anything for you, but they might drop something for your friends. Let's say you have 3 friends, not including yourself, so 4 players in total. If you all run through a farm spot together, then it's essentially making 4 runs instead of 1 at a time when you're by yourself.

I have never used it because F Malenia and bleed is lame...

I’ve been going through the DLC with no summons this time using a pure strength build. I’m using the Guts Greatsword with Heavy Affinity and Lions Claw. 80 Strength and 45 Endurance. Armor of solitude. Using the bull goats talisman, dragonscrest Greatshield talisman, great jar arsenal and shard of alexander. Not using any spells or incantations as I want to learn the bosses move sets with Melee only. And I don’t wanna spam Lions claw so I’ve set the mind at base 11 (samurai) Build is great so far! Very simple but effective

Glad to see people bringing more spotlight to this weapon, its become a fast favorite while im work shopping a Str/Arcane tank build. I've been meaning to hit NG+ so i can get a second one of these to dual wield for more status mania. For a rot weapon, it is surprisingly versatile; Stormcaller with Heavy infusion and buffing with Bloodflame makes it a monster if you have the armor to poise through some hits. Alternatively, it still maintains an A in strength scaling when blood infused so you can slap poisonus mist on top of Rot and Bleed and wear down tougher targets with 3 statuses!
