These women helped define my Gen of women. Don't be afraid to say or wear as you like. Black women in control of what they want and who they want to spend time with without shame. Them, En Vogue, Mary J Blige, TLC... they all changed things. Women went from just being eye candy in videos to having their own eye candy in their own videos.

This song is great fun because they turn the tables on the objectification of women in popular music. It's rare that you see men being reduced to their sexual worth, and it's just so funny and raw. A breath of fresh air. I think it's a mistake to read this song as them saying they are easy. Salt-n-Pepa almost always has a clever feminist twist on their badass rhymes. Check out "Let's Talk About Sex" next!!!

Salt n Pepa. On this song, Pepa started with the first verse and Salt went in on the 2nd. The third lady is their DJ, Spinderella. They’ve been rockin since the 80s. They are pioneers of the female rap game. They have plenty of classics to choose from but coming off this, you should do “Whatta Man” next. They did that with En Vogue.

I hope Jay gets on Mary because she is a staple of the 90's. He needs to see & hear the reason she holds the title "The 👸 Queen of Hip Hop Soul!" After "Family Affair" I hope he reacts to "Be Without You" to really hear Mary's vocal range. My absolute favorite song & video is "No More Drama" (LIVE) where she is in the gold suit.
