Thx for the tip, Aaron. I live just down the road from you in Fremont, California. It can get pretty hot here.

It's really interesting how cultivars spread over the world over time! Im in the UK and it was pretty impossible to get a Red Sentinel in the UK until last year, now they are everywhere. I think you guys are actually driving the international market for Acers. Most of my trees are in pots too!

Hi Tim and Aaron! I live in zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast area, and I really want a weeping dwarf laceleaf "stays red 🤞" that can live in a pot. This will be my 1st JM. I also really like the Orangeola and need to know it's preferences please. TYIA

The issue for you is going be be that in a pot they will need a lot of shade. Shade can green up a red for sure but is required in such a hot area. My best choices for you would be ‘Tamukeyama’ one of the most heat tolerant. Also ‘Red Filigree’ which holds its color well in heavy shade.
