- Took a bit longer than expected. But, I didn't want to skimp. I flew ~130 packs of freestyle flying and drew conclusions from there.

Big thanks to @vcihobby for reaching out to me to try out their motors. They've got something good going here.
As well as @Gemfanhobby for the best Air Slicers around.
And to @captainvanover and #vannystyle for making the best carbon fiber sandwiches an FPV guy can buy.
#fpvfreestyle #fpvmotors #fpvcrashes #gemfan #vannystyle - Hry
Absolutely epic! glad you got some time to abuse them and test them! We will keep notes about the winding situation. thanks for everything booboo!
Thanks for the shout out brother
Super. Video my man!! Sounds like a pretty good motor. Thanks for the tip on the washers that was clutch!! 🤙🤙
great video as always. love the production value. the thumbnail is just the cherry on top! in my experience the winding breaking like that also happens with other budget motor option i had so far. so i wouldnt judge those motors too harshly on that. but good for you for mentioning that.
It's definitely worth mentioning the bad along with the good. Lets the people know and gives the manufacturer the chance to grow. All FPV pilots just want the best gear so they can stay up in the air as long as possible.
Dan Z is a national treasure
And an extra shoutout to dji action 2 still breathing as well
Awesome review. And its a killdeer bird! They are funny. They lead you away from the nest and make you think its injured
MY DUDE! Thank you! Do you have Instagram? Send me a message my hand is @thepolishcamera I got something for you.
@@DanZfpv ha ha awesome. Will do.
Great video dude, these VCI's are looking pretty good, love the way they take a pounding
Awesome work Dan! I love these kind of thorough realword tests.
Cheers man! After doing this. I fully understand why reviewers DON'T do this type of thing. It takes a lot of time/effort. It just so happened that this was the exact thing I wanted to do as I have been hunting for a new motor for a while.
that bird is called a "killdeer''. pretty cool I agree
I love my VCI 2207 2050kvs so far. Smooth, powerful (probably just the KV) and so far pretty durable, time will tell.
Annnnnnd I took a hit and bent a motor shaft today :(
Bent it back into place and flies fine rn, we will see if it smokes eventually.
Yo. Are those thw black ones? The 2207 pro? I am tempted to buy them. What do you think about them? And are they unibell?
The v1 tmotor pacer’s did that, I put an extra washer like you did and it helped to not snap more coils. I still have the v1 pacers on a beater freestyle rig that I usually use to check out new spots
Thats some proper testing and review. Excellent review
That bird is a type of grouse. They are ground nesters, and the male will fake an injury to decoy the predator away from the nest.
Don’t failsafe on the eggs!
Great testing. All my motor bearings get smashed eventually.
If that set of motors lived even one day with you, they are awesome. Take my money.you gotta change your o-rings from time to time.
Great video,
this is the stuff we need.
Thank you
Thanks bruddah
I’m here to watch Dan’s hairline get greyer 😂❤
I want my birthday donation back. 😂
If they are good enough for you then I gotta try em. Austinspired loves em too, buuuut I would love them too if I was getting some for free, but Austin did tell me they are honestly good and I'm hoping your also giving your honest opinion. I take your word for it 🤘🤘
motors are just like onions. I always caramelize them.
You do make them go both ways.
great video :) all the best Dan :)
The bird is a killdeer, they nest on the ground in gravel, thier eggs look like rocks, thats what they do to keep you away from the eggs, Hope vci does a v2 with some higher temp enamel and adjusted spoke height, i might actually buy my first premium motors...
Yeah I thought it looked like a plover!
have a fresh build with some on it still haven't flown them.... one day maybe.
Whaaaaat! Great video, DanZ!
Heck yeah Dan great review video and yes I’m stoked to rip theses VCi motors . I’m in process of building my new quad with them. Lets go homie 🔥👊🏻
i was on the fence about trying these motors but now i want them more than ever. such a good honest review and sick editing as always. ill use your code when ordering but unfortunatel i have no clue what kind of bird that is and have never seen that dance before lol
Nice dude! well put together video like usual 🤘 will have to try out some vci when zoe's 2208 comes out. Love the Y gap loop to trippy 🔥🔥🔥🐎💨
Unfortunately, I broke all 5 they sent (I believe from the same giveaway) with the exact winding/bell situation. All 5.
Great performance and took some damn good hits from the side.
They're some sexy looking motors at that
I'm not the only one then.
Shesh those are cool. Have you had the oportunity to use the 2207 pro ones?
If i didnt already have 5 sets of Tmotors id be all in, its a great price. If Mike decided to send me a set it might change my mind lol.
I’m loving my set also (when I can get the stack to work with me). I’m a little afraid for the positive publicity because wrekd is the only place to get them right now and we can’t have them always sold out. lol
Talking with Wrekd they are supposed to be in any day now.
@@DanZfpv yeah, after Bardwell gave them attention, I’ve noticed they have disappeared. Which sucks for those that were in before the approval was given.
@@JuicySmullietFPV yeah. I know Wrekd is supposed to be getting a very large order in. I believe this week. 🤞
Oh damn, they make a 1950kv version!! Sold!
I’m flying the 2207 1950kv motors I’m loving them so far.
Even have a 2110 kv
@TomBlanckaert yeah, but I'm not a fan of the 2 piece bell design. I've never had luck with those.
@@MurdersFPV I was a bit concerned about the 2 piece bell but so far these motors have been super durable. I would like to see a 2207 Uni bell motors but I think VCI will be my go to motor for now.
@@MurdersFPV thx for pointing that out !
Of course f_core has great tips. The guy is a beast. 🔥
And it's a Killdeer
Dang those things took a beating! I just lost my esc on my bot5 but im due for new motorrs too
Awsome video bro
Thanks 🙏
It is a killdeer
Dang you beat me to it.
@@JuicySmullietFPV im hoping for some VCI motors 😉😁🙏
@DanZbreaksDrones I just realized someone did get it earlier but I swear I found it on my own. Do I still get something? I don't believe you said only the first person. I completely understand if not lol.
@@Smagsfpv I’ve got a set and love them. I haven’t durability tested them like Dan has but from my brief experience with them, they’ve been great.
Ah man. I wish I had more to give. I gave a lil something to the first guy that got me the name.
Amazing review Dan! Awesome tips too! Did VCi use 7075 aluminum? I'm actually about to buy F60 2020kv 2207 motor from T-Motor. I was told that it's extremely durable. After watching your video, I should hold off and rethink. What are your thoughts? Anyways, we should fly soon!
I’ve asked VCI and apparently it’s some sort of secret sauce.
@@DanZfpv Thank you for getting back to me and doing that. ☺
were the crashes from the reel all done with the same set of motors? if so, the shafts can't be straight any more, right?
In that crash reel it’s all from the same quad. I did have to swap two motors in the process. It was motors 2 and 3 (if I remember correctly).
In the process I did end up bending one bell that gave it a good bit of wobble. But it still goes.
hello , i saw that you use dji action 2 with dji o3 system. my question to you is that what settings do u use for the dji o3 for recording and transmission. also share your settings for action 2. i am planning to switch to dji action 2 so your inputs for settings would be really appreciated
Hey! Sorry it's been so long. Doing an Action2 Settings Video is on my to do list. But in a nutshell. Shoot at 30fps with a 1/60th locked shutter. And set your ISO to 100-1600max. And use an ND filter to get the exposure for your highlights correct.
@@DanZfpv which nd filters are compatible with it ??
@@kushangsolanki999 I personally use the TBS ND Filters on my action 2. Since I freestyle and ND Filters break. I find them to be the best in terms of Cost/Quality. They're not perfect. But, for freestyle purposes. They work good enough.
No 4s version.. count me out. Was hopeful it would he an option to slatt motors. But without a 4s version. Dissapointing. 6s doesn't interest me. Don't need the extra top end of 6s, packs are too expensive. Possible damage to electronics. I'm 4s for life. Oh well..
Quality content as always though! Thanks for that!
I'll be honest. I've been flying since 18' and I stayed on 4s up until last year. And I held out for all the exact same reasons. But, I finally decided to try it. And after having both setups for a bit I found myself going to 6s more and more until I just completely switched. My reason was the more consistent power throughout the whole pack. I throttle scale everything so that I feel like I fly with the same amount of "power" that I did on 4S because it suited me for proxy flying.
Pack prices is legit. It is ~$5-10 more. The electronics thing has not been an issue for me. I don't even run caps (lots of people face palm when they hear this). Electronics are designed to work on 6s and have a good bit of overhead to cover it.
Either way. Doesn't matter how many S's you fly. As long as you're having a good time. Thanks for watching.
@DanZbreaksDrones I'm already so invested in 4s. I tried 6s out and it really didn't draw me enough to switch. If there was a 4s version of these I would try em out. I don't hate anyone for flying 6s. I just know when I mention I love 4s people tend to tell me why I'm wrong 🤣 so I also give my reasons when I say it. I 100% agree with you. Flying is flying. I use Rline packs so sag really doesn't bother me. With Tmotor on the chopping block for import bans I'm really trying to find an option if it happens. Was hoping this was gonna be it.
I see that they actually do have a 2600kv version on the website. www.vcihobby.com/pd.jsp?id=180
I know that feeling. I remember telling people I was still on 4s and them reacting the same way.
@DanZbreaksDrones well if you will excuse me I need to go take my foot out of my mouth 🤣🤣
I'm gonna order some now
