- The details of Path of Exile: Affliction will be revealed at 12:30 PM November 30th (PST) at twitch.tv/pathofexile!
In the livestream you'll learn all about the new challenge league and other content of the expansion. As usual, after the livestream, Chris Wilson will answer your burning questions live in a Q&A session with ZiggyD, also joined this time by Jonathan Rogers and Mark Roberts.
Twitch Drops will be enabled for the livestream. We'll announce the reward in a few days. Co-streaming is welcomed!
You'll be able to play the Affliction expansion for free on December 8th (PST) on PC and Mac and on December 13th (PST) on Xbox and PlayStation.

This new NPC goes around the Atlas "Afflicting" previous league mechanic (in this case Ritual) changing their encounter, making them more challenging and rewarding. Maybe there's a way to choose what type of afflictions / rewards you want as well, similar to Eater/Searing Altars.
makes sense. atlas tree is goated right now and the mechanics are pretty balanced. just hoping they keep tattoos

I wonder if theyll ever bring back old leagues but revamped/ additonal content. Like for example essence, what if there was more to essences beside the crystal statue monsters and there bosses and abit of lore/unique maps. Or delve but theres newer mechanics where you literally make your own path where you map out your way sorta like expiditon but on the sanctum ui menu. Or beastary but newer bosses and crafts and a new map like a "safari zone" you have a minute to explore the map and "catch" 3 beasts, all types of beasts are in the map you just gotta find them. Or a new final uber boss of the abyss thats as big as kitava. Or a clash between the breach lords like the legion wars. Or a clash between delirous mobs against harbingers depending on who you kill more the end boss you'll fight either a delious harbinger or a harbinger of delirium. Idk its 5am i should be asleep.

Hopefully a mechanic you can only encounter by running maps. The only thing I will remember from ancestral league was that it was 2c per map league with boring ancestral chalanges.

You pick up that banner at the start of the instance and get an "affliction" debuff to your character, as the time goes by the effectiveness of the affliction increases as well as the rewards you get from the mobs you kill, you can drop and pick up the banner at any given moment but when you do it the effectiveness (and rewards) resets back to 1%.
there are different kind of affliction banners and some of them are very special both in risk and reward!
So like a sentinel, instead of buffing enemies, players get a debuff. Very original.

nah I think it changes the way the current league mechanics work by "Afflicting" them, making them work in a different way than they normally do. It would make sense for this since they did say it was going to be an ambitious league mechanic.

Well, here is my take at the coming league mechanic:
In the trailer thus figure seems to notice the audience. And as soon as it does, it disappears.
How about that in every instance, tjis figure buffs all enemies until it is found by the player?

Affliction is the internal name for Delirium, is it not?
My guess, you find shrines choose debuffs and get bonus loot or something akin to this.

It really does seem like Ultimatum 2.0 because you'd be afflicting yourself to get loot, maybe even afflicting the loot too, that'd be fun.
Im thinkin that its an affliction on yourself, where itll give you a negative side effect while boosting something on your passive tree, like inc effect of physical nodes or something

Probably similar to afflictions in sanctum, but present in Atlas maps. More afflictions you stack, more loot from map

I don't recommend another blind run on league start tho, try to find a build close to whatever you played and enjoyed or a different one play style even but something that good for league start and can scale really well with currency later especially if you have time to play or willing to play for more than one month
Someone or something is afflicting Ritual mechanic change it drastically... Different league mechanic gonna be afflicted in someway altering them... that's my take!

Wouldn't mind if it's Ritual Revamp league (continuation of it) =), but seems like it will afflict "Content", sort of Sentinel but specific for extra "content".

you can collect affliction counters in the map and then summon a totem to sacrifice them and summon a huge evil beast, collecting its parts i get some metamorph vibes here. I hate the bugs i will crush them with a might slam!!! And then return to strikeskills .. :D
