One of the best vids ever. This is what making images of people is about!

Chloe is such a breath of fresh air. As I sat here listening to her, I realized how similar her experiences with starting out are to my own. I am in that place where I've gone to all of the trouble to start a business, but have such a complete lack of confidence in myself, especially when comparing myself to others and thinking "I'll never be as good as them." I think it's good to hear about the failures and shortcomings of talented photographers.
Also, and as a photography novice, it has never occurred to me to draw on my own experiences as a human being to capture the shots that I wanted. I've been so preoccupied with looking for books and videos on how to pose people, that I never stopped to think "what would I be doing in this situation," or "how would the subjects normally react in this situation?" I think I forget sometimes that my goal as a photographer is telling a story, and as with any other kind of storytelling these are precisely the questions we would ask.
This video, for me, has been one of the best, most valuable, and most informative from B&H. Thanks Chloe!

Facing the need to define "life", most biologists say "Life is constant and infinite movement.".
As an actor (and photographer, and else) I can testify... there's no way you can direct an artist, even though she/he only just performs. Each interpreter has their own and unique way of giving the performance.
In my workshops, I try to teach to my students they won't be taught... which scares them first. Then they get to understand what it means : getting a point, somewhere on the "artistic horizon", and try one's best to reach it while making the most of the journey.
All that... the will + the start + the knowledge + the skills + the journey + the intention(s) + the flexibility + the observation + the acceptance ( + else) makes for the act of creation then, ultimately, the creation itself.

I really appreciate these videos, but I would expect better production (especially audio) from a company that sells pro audio and video equipment.

There are so many great photographers all over the world ! It's very interesting to read the story of the famous French sulptor "Auguste Rodin". Many of his most notable sculptures were criticized during his lifetime. Being famous or getting paid for photoshoots doesn't mean necessarily being special and excellent, although lots of those online lecturers state the opposite.

I had the same feeling. At the beginning, the advice given felt a bit cliche and mediocre, but by the time she was finished I was left really motivated and full of ideas. I advise to finish watching it, it's well worth the time :)
