Honestly people wouldn’t make for of TSA if they didn’t have so much attitude towards people and freak out over items over 3 oz 😂
My parents once bought me a NYC snow globe INSIDE the airport but went through security and the tsa lady grabbed yelled BOMB and smashed it in the garbage can. So they had to buy one after security

No shit had a TSA agent in Mobile, Alabama tell me that I had "contraband" in my bag. It was a water bottle STILL SEALED from my flight from the day prior. He proceeded to tell me that I was lucky he was so kind as to only dispose of the contraband and not put me in cuffs 😂

Ipads and computers are required because the complex mechanics in it can confuse the machine, meaning people could hide knives and other weapons under it and the machine wouldn't notice.
The funny thing to keep in mind is that the Department of Homeland Security tested the TSA to see how effective they are to stop a possible terrorist attack, and they failed royally.
Its more a deterrent than meant to catch anything. The illusion of security does far more to prevent attacks than you might think. Bad guys will target things thatll cause less casualties because they appear to be easier targets.
Former TSA here.....quick tip if you want to keep your water or drinks just say you need it for medical purposes TSA cant legally ask you to present proof of personal medical conditions, they have to test it and if it comes back all good boom you got that 2 liter of mtn dew thru.
