There is one thing I get very annoyed by. When a movie is ending, other screens pop up, obscuring the final screen of current movie! Ugh
Me too, it is very agrivating.
@@user-oj1lb2ht8hI'm with you guys ... very annoying!
I hate it too😢
ME TO
I'm too
James Cagney was one if a kind. Never saw him in a bad film. Thank you for all of the films he made. Im a babyboomer and starting watching him at 6 yrs of age. Always loved his acting prowess. Im 75 and still loving him. Thanks for the memories! RIP Mr. Cagney.
He made it all seem effortless.
Well said, @richardbrowning8221. I’m 77 and feel the same way. As a girl in my 20s, I had a crush on him! ♥️
I'm 74 from New Jersey. As a kid I remember " Million Dollar Movie " . Every Wednesday a new movie played ALL WEEK until Tuesday! You really understood a movie after seeing it all week!
That was on WOR Channel 9. From 7:30 PM until 9 PM. The background music intro was "Tara's Theme", from GONE with the Wind! The best of times! Every day was an adventure ✨!
I love his dancing to Yankee Doodle Dandy! What an entertainer! 💛
Cagney never made a bad movie. I love that guy.
Heat is a masterpiece, iconic film, kiss is still a very good crime film and Cagney, you still can't takes your eyes off him. A joy to watch.
Cagney may have been small but boy did he fill the screen.
I Agree!
The women are so pretty
Why is the brunette woman driving on the left side? Was this movie made in England?
@@debrabader806Duh, it's a British car. The steering wheel is on the right.
James Cagney certainly was the best
Nothing better than seeing Jimmy Cagney❤
Cagney was soo intense....same level as Edward G. Robinson....and that, decades before Method-acting^^
So was Bogart. He filled the screen.
I love these old classics
I enjoy this type of movie because it helps to remind me of being grateful for never doing crazy things that are depicted in this film . There was a retired Merchant Marine in my neighborhood and friend ly . He showed us kids to box and other things. He said it would help keep us out of trouble . He told me once you don't want to go to prison doing something stupid you go to prison for robbing a bank, jewelry store . I understood what he meant and took it to heart and it worked. I am grateful too this day. I am over 70 . Thanks for the memory and movie
A huge talent he made other actors shine
A Cagney Lover, can't believe I've bever seen this movie! Very familiar with Ms.Payton, another underrated Actress, in my opinion, with both, and All, playing their Parts to Perfection! A True Player, a Woman Scorned, finding out everything, the Woman, Only knowing the World, herself, brought up, surrounded in, knowing absolutely Nothing of the other 2!
I went to the cemetery where Cagney is buried at with his wife. I was 11 going on 12 years old when James Cagney died. I watched Yankee Doodle Dandy and I was blown away by James Cagney talent. I read his book and took off to NY to go do what Cagney did. I have a Cagney shirt and went to visit Cagney. I was the only person there and I was able to grieve. Cagney was a great actor and person! I'm greatful for what James Cagney taught me. We truly love you and your hard work 💕💋.
i had the recognition of his face and you put his name there, thanks a bunch from Eindhoven sunday may 5th we celebrate our liberation day from the nazis altough they did a bombing on 6th 1944, hi 5 to liberationmen 101stAirborne
liberation of my hometown was september 18th 1944 the rest ended may 5 1945 i mixed that up, Gday
William Frawley (Fred Mertz of I love lucy) was always the same. He was born that way. Never younger, a few things a tiny bit older but he never changed! Good movie so far.
A true gangster movie a great cast and story thank you for bringing all these great Movies they are true classics ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is not a full movie we didn’t get to see the credits
Copyright reasons, I know.😔
James Cagney is a tough dude. I know he’s only acting but wow he scares me shittt less
So far no one has come forward with anything about James Cagney except what an awesome person he was to work with. My personal opinion is that he was always interesting to watch. He’s a savage once again! And very few actors have had so many savage roles in their careers as Mr. Cagney.
Cagney was a real pro, he didn't carry his onscreen persona to real life and in real life was just another decent human being that did not draw attention to himself. He always supported his fellow actors during production, a team player.
Personally I think it's in Jimmy's top five movies. This never got its due! rip JC
@@hoodoo2001 Cagney, Robinson and Bogart were all total gentlemen in real life. They played shady characters but were first class humans.
Cagney was a dynamic actor - he was riveting - watch his every move - he steals every scene -
Wonderful dancer -as well - did he overact ? I dont know - it hardly matters he made many
Signature films over a long long career -
he was a boxer too
Yankee Doodle Dandy was one of the great films showing Cagney's talents!
@@Downecker He taught Michael Jackson how to dance.
Compared to the trash that they show on TV and in the theaters today, these old movies are solid gold.
I love this movie, actually it's in the top five Cagney made. Of course the dialogue doesn't hurt either. I'm with you 💯 so much better than the bleep bleep they show today...
You are right Joyce the old movie's had good actors and actresses in them, not like the trash Hollywood makes now.
He was one of the best actors in gangsters All😂
Yeah, this is one of my favorite movies interested the whole way through. They don't make them like this anymore, this is why I love classical movies.
She will never forget doing that scene with him, the one and only
This was one of the pictures that Cagney family produced as part of the deal by which they were required to make White Heat in return for their own control over other subsequent titles..this guy is almost as nutty as Cody Jarrett
Really?
Good call. You know your movies. It was part of a production deal.
Nobody dies like Cagney.
This movie is 🔥 , its definatly not "Public Enemy" or "Angels With Dirty Faces" or "White Heat" but definitely in Cagneys top 5 regardless in my book along with "The Man Of A Thousand Faces"
Other good Cagney films is
"One , Two Three" & "The Roaring Twenties" & "Each Dawn I Die" & "Underworld" & "Smart Money" & "Strawberry Blonde" & "The Lady Killer" & ofcorse "Yankee Doodle Dandy".... all legendary Cagney films ❤
"The Gallant Hours"
Gangsta frm beginning 2 end, classic. No technology, natural divine talent, piece of art of cast!
Wow, Fred Mertz when he was a prison guard, before he married Ethel and bought the apartment house in NYC lol
Do you think Fred Mertz was always a landlord? He worked in the " Big House" when he was younger!
🤭
CREDITS are important!
PLEASE STOP WITH THE ADS, It is just a waste your money .people don't pay any attention to them .
I like all of them ❤❤ Not todays junk . I don't waste my time trying 😂😂😂
Unusual lOve story with a twist: MEET JOE BLACK.
Try this unusual love story: MEET JOE BLACK 👍
Also love Cagney I watch all his films my favorite is Yankee Doodle Dandy
There is some fine fine acting on display here, even in the smallest roles.
🤔ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF TOP FAVORITE CAGNEY NOIR !!!
Wow, wow, wow!!! This is a good movie.👏😀👍
Great to go back in time
Golden years back then
Watching the great stars
We had plenty back then
❤
Johnny Come Lately (1943) is a good Non-Maniac Cagney movie.
Godspeed everyone. 🙂
Orson Welles called Cagney the greatest actor. He certainlly was good.
Cagney Classic ❤
i love james cagney movies😎🤩
You really have to suspend reality on so many levels. 3 guards are murdered on the escape and no one seems to recognize Cagney in the vicinity.
Cagneys death scene was brilliant. 😢
I’m 5.6 and should have been a actor,1 I do Cagney like nobody else, and Edward G😂😂🎉💰
Nice crew of friendly people. This film noir is briliant and Cagney at his best.
One of Cagney's best films
I'm 74 and watched all the great movies on TV as a little kid. I don't know of any actor who can play a tough gangster in one film then play George M. Cohan in " Yankee Doodle Dandy" , an amazing movie ! Can Bogart or Edward G. dance ?😂😂😅 and get away with it?😂
Humphrey Bogart became a tough guy in the movies after a stint in the Navy during World War I it's funny how all those great actors have one thing in common they grew up in New York City when it was a real jungle of immigrants from Europe. Jimmy Cagney used to be able to speak Yiddish.
Christopher walken.
My favorite Actor’s of 1950 ‘s fame were James Cagney , Edward G. Robinson , Rod Striger, , James Stewart , Robert Mitchum , and there classic film’s . On TCM ) Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye . I just watched for the first time .
Damn. THANKS so very much for letting the world know the thoughts of the ONE and ONLY louis badillo.
Cagney did the best death scenes
YOU AINT NEVER LIED TO ME!
My second Jimmy Cagney filum in two days haha, I watched him in the Irish film about the Black and Tans..❤Superb tanks
Great movie.black and white ar the best.
Thank you 👍 Always good to watch the great James Cagney ❤ Excellent cast 🥰That was a neat car 🚗🚘🥰
James Cagney was thee greatest actor ever!😊 I was a kid when CAGNEY died but, I just went to NY and went to James Cagney grave! 😢😢 It was just me at James Cagney grave. For the entire time I was there I visited his grave many times. It's a beautiful cemetery where he's at. Not sure if his grandkids come to visit him but, his kids and wife are dead. I went to restaurants he ate at, Grand Central station where he went, etc. I was going to honor James Cagney and I had a blast doing it. I educated the Cops and the property department about James Cagney. I feel like James CAGNEY is a great guy off camera too as well as on camera. I feel like he could be my second Daddy. He's awesome and I'm going back for Thanksgiving 🦃 to visit again with flowers. America loves you Jimmy CAGNEY. RIP.
@@mereoxendine193 Thank you for sharing ❤You are so kind to let me know 👍
Great movie! Cagney plays a good psycho. Ward Bond was great also.
Bond was brilliant, in his best form, for sure.
22:05. Cagney’s “drunk” about a litre of make-believe coffee out of an empty cup 😂
Yes!
One of. The best actor s ever him John Garfield .,Hunrpy borgat,.❤
Cagney was king at the pistol whip 😅
The only quote that comes to mind is "HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A WOMAN SCORNED"!😂😂😂😂😂 what a great movie! 2cd time seeing this in don't know how many years! Cagney is so dramatic in all his "death " scenes! 👏👏👏👏👏👏Bravo!❤
Why do I get the impression that this movie was Mr. Cagney's 'warm-up' performance for the movie, "White Heat"?
Cody Jarrett Made it ma,top of the world!!!!!
This came after White Heat
@@richspinaci8293 Okay. So Mr. Cagney, was still working "White Heat", out of his system, when he made this movie, and someone said, "We really shouldn't let this all this great Psychotic Gangster energy go to waste!" LOL
Just how many commercials can one suck out of a film ?
Yes, why do I have to watch this dishonest, annoying advertisement everytime I watch a classical movie? Just install an adblocker it is the perfect solution.
Thank you@@YowzaBowzaWowza
Cagney was typecasted. He was at one his best in Yankee Doodle Dandy. He has a sense of humor and would have been good in the old war movies. I'd like to have seen him in a love story or two.
No
Watch The Strawberry Blonde...a Cagney chick flick!
Looks like he should've remembered to, never trust a 'angry' dame 'holding' a revolver!
Hahahahaha
Surprisingly good movie. All this and KENNETH TOBEY, too.
Plot is very hard to swallow..great to see Cagney in this B movie though.
What a great movie!
“Kiss” is new to me. It’s a surprise violent thriller released after White Heat. Cagney plays a ruthless a-hole. In the first few minutes he shoots character actors, William Frawley AND Neville Brand!! Too bad. The actors would have helped balance out the cast since Cagney is in every scene. Of course, Cagney is always watchable and his sadistic, psychopathic behavior is fascinating.
Yes sadistic violent characters on film interesting but notvso much when u encounter one.
Very good movie 👍👍👍
Great movie! Thank you!
Ralph Cotter is a career criminal who, while escaping from a prison work camp, kills his escape partner, Carleton. On the outside, Cotter ultimately woos Carleton's sister, Holiday, by threatening to expose the fact that she was involved in arranging the prison break. Holiday does not know that Cotter killed her brother. There are hints of a sadomasochistic bond between the two in a scene where Cotter is provoked to whip Holiday with a wet towel, after which she passionately embraces him. Cotter quickly gets back into the crime game-only to be shaken down by corrupt local cops. Things become more complicated with each plan, and worsen when he turns the tables on the bad cops. Finally, Holiday discovers that Cotter killed her brother and that he is dumping her for a wealthy young heiress. She is thrown into a violent rage.
yes; we saw the movie too
I can't decide which character Cagney played was more villainous, this one or Cody Jarrett in White Heat. I think it's this one. At least Cody Jarrett was good to his mother.
Public Enemy !
@@user-wy1dl2me2p Yes, that is definitely the top three. I still lean more towards Kiss Tmrw Goodbye. In the other 2 films, the characters at least had mothers they were fond of. In Kiss Tmrw Goodbye, he was too awful to care about anyone.
@@DmPmRr1959 good point
That was a great death scene and the ending was fabulous!
Movie was great.
did you notice the mug shot police file says (Cagney) the mobster age was 37; laughs.......Cagney was 51 years old at the time of the movie. Barbara Payton (his girl). was 23 years old, just a kid compared to Cagney. but that's Hollywood, the male stars are always 20-30 years older than the women.
Carney very cool actor...story and cast very interesting...I watch it over and over...
so the brunette has a zillion $$$$$ and says to him lets just leave now, but he wants his $17k and goes back to get it??? only Cagney can make this believable.
Excellent movie! Here I thought I had seen them all....
Cagney might be the only actor you can tell who he is tell by the way he walks.
Cagney walks like a dancer and he was a good one. Like Christopher Walken. People he worked with said they didn't want to dance like him, they just wanted to be able to walk like him. Both good looking men.
Yankee Doodle Dandy scene is as good as it gets! @@dianal.clausen8118
@@dianal.clausen8118Good looking?
richierugs6544, I'd know George Raft's walk anywhere. In a second.
maybe even burt lancaster now that i think about it too@@aileen694
Dialogue, big part in old flick i like
Cagney was cool , your not alone baby not alone at all 😅 💋💝
"Young man, who is the same age as me, my daughter tends to be impulsive".
My only complaint:
The audio is weak. The volume is low and the bass is almost non-existent.
Could you please fix that, dear uploader?
Lots of thanks and love from India.
Very good movie
Edward G. Robinson was a "good" gangster as well. Yeah, see?
I'm calling the shots now,see?
Oh, it's like that, see.. Yeah, like that !
Excellent noir movie
This was good!
Enjoyed the Dirty Rat
Not a bad gangster movie. Standard plot and the bad guy Cagney again predictable but much better than the junk they make today. Maybe include the credits and wait 'til it's over to cover the screen with ads. TY.
If they wanted music to go along it would be Booker in the m.g.'s green it would be p green onions
Great Movie !! The endless commercials were my favorite though !!
Fast forward until 30 seconds before the end, allow it to play to the end then press replay, the movie will then play without adds ,your welcome, lol
@@paultoomer2756 Hey thanks a lot
@@paultoomer2756Whaaa? Does that really work? Who knew!
@@paultoomer2756Same thing on that dreadful Freevee- I usually just let it play on mute while I'm busy, then no ads.

You are getting this movie for free, stop whingeing ! It makes it safer for the guy doing this for you. If you want credits there are plenty of movies out there you can pay for that have them.
The title is listed, you can Google the cast.
The tractors at 4:20 are a Minneapolis Moline Z or R, Allis Chalmers WD or WD 45, and a Minneapolis Moline U (or maybe a G) propane model.
This movie and white heat made in 1949...were banned in several states...times have changed 1:38:23 1:38:25
Crazy how he shot the girls brother right in front of her but she was too blonde & dumb to notice 😂
At least the blonde was motivated by the murder of her brother and NOT the fact that her man had a rich girlfriend/wife.
quite the set up; 100 yards of creek, and the guard takes him to the exact spot where the gun is stashed in a tire,
SPOILER:
One question: Who's the guy Holiday tells to get back into the bedroom, the one who brought back the bullet that killed her brother?
Peter Cobbett, the prison guard who is the first witness at the beginning of the film.
He's the guy who worked on the prison farm in the beginning of the film that comes into the room where the prisoners are sleeping.
Crazy how he shot the girls brother right in front of her but sh vwa
I think the car may be a Rover? It has a winged emblem on the radiator. Which Rover use!
Was it a 12 cylinder? Never saw one before & I am a car buff.
Was that Norman wisdom that james Cagney shot?
Forgotten how brutal Cagney can be - he's at his evil best here! Not sure why he went for the rich girl though when he initially didn't benefit at all and even refused the cheque for annulling the marriage - what was the point?
In a word it was greed ~Didn't benefit? She's beautiful and she was all over him. They got married out of state quickly~ he knew daddy would pay him off, plus he had her adoring him for a while,.. but when it came to paying him off he didn't want to get paid for his time with her. Then later when daddy offers him access to "everything" with his blessing he goes for it. But his first girl finds out and in a fit of jealous rage she unravels all of them and herself.
He used the blonde, then tried the brunette. Ego + sex drive drove him to it. Refused the money to prove a point. Besides, he had a history of making bad choices.
So, I assume everybody got life or the chair ???
Hanged?
The ending should be he completely disappears with the rich girl, and they all get left, holding the bag
That’s they way Cotter planned it!
@@YowzaBowzaWowza I mean, he disappears, and they are left being blamed and Nobody can prove he’s even alive. Then, as they are convicted “GUILTY” he is shown on a beach with his wife, smiling and free
@@YowzaBowzaWowza thank you for telling me that. Because the ending sucked. I absolutely 100% hated the movie as soon as I saw the ending. I wanted to do to be sitting on an island somewhere with that girl, having the times of their lives well those people paid for his crime.
I’m not sure what that says about me, but probably I’m pretty twisted
Well, there’s no probably
5:33 oh what acting!
