  • Join us on our Bar Harbor Whale Watch boat tour with the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company while we were there in July. The tour was about 5.5 hours, and the high-speed catamaran took us approximately 60 miles from the coast into Canadian waters to see the Humpback Whales. Along the way we saw plenty of Basking Sharks and Atlantic White-Sided Dolphins as well as a few Puffins here and there. The video ends with our Sunrise experience on top of Cadillac Mountain in the Acadian National Park.

    ****************************************************************************Our Inception:
We downsized from a three bedroom house in November 2017 to a 2000 Fleetwood Southwind Class A. We dubbed her Southwind Sally. We did some minor renovations with paint and adding new window treatments. In December 2018 we purchased our fifth wheel. It is a 2014 Forest River Columbus 320 RS by Palomino. In February 2020 we hit the road before the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdowns started.
Those lockdowns forced us to hold up at the Tinker, AFB FamCamp in Oklahoma until May. We hit the road again traveling to Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana (where we had floor work done on the Columbus), Ohio and Michigan. We decided we were going to try and make it to Colorado to see the sights and made our way there. This is when we decided to create our channel.
We have been watching our favorite CZcams channels for years and decided maybe we should start to capture our own adventures. That decision produced our channel Compass Roadz and our first video.

Thank you! It definitely lived up to its hype. It was so surreal with those surroundings while we were there. Thanks for watching!

Saw your Facebook post and speaking of technology problems…the internet went out at our home before making a comment on the video. The MiFi that we got for the RV helped us through a couple of hours. The video was great! Bar Harbor, ME + amber and dark beverages + dark and amber skies + humpback whales…thanks for sharing!

We love our ambers too! Ughhhh. I could sometimes curse the mifi we use when traveling. We never know which cell provider will be our best. So far we only have Verizon/Visible but we may have to look at T-Mobile and/or AT&T solutions as a temporary measure. Thanks for watching!!!

Do you need your passport when you are going into Canadian waters?

Very good question. We did not have to show anything. Now this was 2 years ago so things could’ve changed since. I’d call whatever tour company you use to find out all of the details for your specific tour. Thanks for the great question and for watching.
