The ability to add expression and emotion has long been recognized as a key to "natural" speech. Now, Griffin Laboratories, through the TruTone™ electronic speech aid, has developed a natural solution which will bring personality back into your voice.

My grandpa used one of the old types with no flucuation in it. He used it for over 30 years. Really cool to see how technology has improved over the years.
Can you please tell me the price of this machine
@@NehaMishra-jy2kc Sorry have no idea the cost. Maybe do a Google search with the part number or name and you can find what they are selling for?
i think the one you are referring to is called a servox artificial larynx which sounds more robotic .
wow, that's an amazing leap in the technology
With the Trutone, it almost sounds like a normal voice. Plus, each individual sounds different using these.
“Hey Ned, I got ya a new voice box!!”
I actually didn't realize you were using it for a whole 5 seconds, that's just how good it is
You might just be an idiot
Wow that's really clear
and you know what is really cool ????? this artificial larynx gives you the ability to sing as well :D the other artificial speech aids like the servox, solotone, romet, and cooper rand do not give you the ability to do that because they all sound robotic but this one the tru tone gives you the ability to express yourself sing and then some :D just because you lost your voice does not mean in any way shape or form that you will never ever be able to speak again if you lost your voice from cancer please have a s.l.p wich means speech language pathologist help you order a tru tone!!!!! i am not a laryngectomee but i do know what i am talking about :D
A special friend is about to lose his voice box.....i knew science had moved forward but had no idea as to the level.....this is beyond magic....
Wow, this device sounds so much more natural than all the other electrolarynxes I've heard.
Thank you so much for sharing. It truly gives a warmth to your voice, which makes listening to this type of speech a world away from the more monotone.
Affirmative. Downloading happiness protocol.
hello!!!! :) when i discovered this video a few years back i honestly could not believe it! my jaw dropped! you guys have created something very unique and remarkable! i never heard of a artificial larynx that can give you fluctuation it is remarkable to see that there is hope! i am not a laryngeal patent but i have met people who are and i believe that there is great technology going on here ! this is no ordinary artificial larynx! it is the larynx of the future! and i am proud of you!!
0:18 all your base are belong to us...
I'm sorry, I had to say it...
Person, I love you.
+Marmarie Ramos ikr, it's just too similar, someone set us up the bomb you know?
I want one just to pretend i'm a robot
Amazing
I remember seeing this video when i was like 9 years old randomly Google searching for stuff because I'd just started my fascination with "simulated" speech of all kinds.
To me, his voice has sort of an "LPC Encoding" sort of sound. This is the tech that was used in the Speak and Spell to resynthesize speech from data that took up very little memory. So to me, that's a VERY good thing, because it was clear that the voice in the Speak and Spell was taken from recordings of a human being, and only sounded the way it did because of technological constraints. Tony sounds like a real human being, albeit one with a small amount of artifacted "buzz". Props to Griffin Labs for creating this device! You've made something that brings the "humanity" back into alyringeal speech.
all i can say is wow!!!!!!!!! it's amazing! the Trutone artificial larynx is the best artificial speech aid in the whole world! and it doesn't make you sound like a robot like others do! i am verry happy to know that there is an artificial speech aid that can make you sound as normal as possible! way to go griffin labs:)
The man is a great presenter of the product. Amazing what technology we have come to find!
Wow that's really cool that it allows for inflection.
isn't it amazing how people come up with these sort of things ? i am not a Larry but it just amazes me how these people who work with people who have lost their voice make a device like the tru tone to help people bring their voice back! it just baffles me! and it is the only device that can give you real fluctuation! and i think it's unique!!! really unique! i don't know how they came up with the idea but it just amazes me :)
i can't believe how natural his voice sounds!!!!! isn't it amazing what the Tru tone artificial larynx can do ?!?!?
Wow, sounds really impressive
That's pretty neat! Never heard of these devices until today.
Very awesome..prolly takes some practice but those things have been the same for decades, great job.
AFFIRMATIVE. I MUCH APPRECIATE THIS DISPLAY OF ADVANCED VOCAL TECHNOLOGY. IT IS DRASTICALLY PIQUING MY INTERESTS.
it is amazing! i think every laryngectomee should use the tru tone artificial larynx!
God bless the people who made this and those who can use it in place of the older technology. 🤗🙏🙌👏👍✌😇
That is amazing.
MsCherylB183 you should see the videos of him singing! :D
this device is just...amazing
Keep up the incredible work!!!!
Beautiful!
I have one and it is much better with the easily adjustable tone. Atos handles them now.
what the call is
i think the best part of that speech aid! is that it makes your voice sound so natural! i know a lady who speaks with a Servox artificial speech aid and i am letting this womans mom know to check out the videos! don't you think that this speech aid will make her sound more natural?!:)
Sounds like Johnny Five from Short Circuit
do not give up! ever! i am here for you :)
woo, i love improving technology!
thats definitely amazing
I am watching Mad Max now, i didn't know this even existed. Very cool!
Wow, this is really awesome! I had no idea any of these devices had the ability to change pitch. :D
and years ago i never ever knew that any of these devices existed!!!!!!!! crazy huh ?
great information. thanks for posting.
If you can talk perfectly fine, do these things still work because they make and awesome voice.
i had undergone total Larnygectomy in 1997 & since then I am using Servox Inton voice prosthesis. The quality of sound is simply wonderful & most Clear be it one to one communication, in public & over phone too.
+Jonathan hi.. Jonathan, it's Servox Electrolayrnges from Siemens. I m using in since 19 years & it gives 2 tones, bass & trable, one may use as necessary. It gives quality performance on phone.
+Jonathan, it's like Robotic voice,u need hardly 10 days to get used to it, but great part is you get easily noticed & people will listen u bit surprised but with keen interest. U can keep on talking 24x7 non stop as normal human being without getting frustrated. Lastly you won't ever feel like you lost your voice or partly disabled.
+Jonathan, I am truly honoured with your kind reply. Feel free to speak to me anytime. You must have seen & heard robot on screen speaking as pre-planned but watch LIVE ROBOT through (Skype) & see his not planned responses in line with your query. I m giving free counseling to cancer patients & in public forum~events using this machine & Its said seeing is believing. Have super week end celebration. I will luv to speak with you...
+Jonathan for u it's still pre-valentine day & for me it's Valentines day as we are 10.30 hours ahead of you. It's indeed great conversing with you on this day. For Valentines day it does not need to be only person from opposite sex.
That's amazing 👏
you are artist darill
This is very similar to the talkbox in regards to learning to be intelligible.
TrueTone is so coooool!
That's amazing
Like, even though your voice is hosed, you're awesome. Way to go, babe!
Incredible
...And that's why, folks, you should NEVER smoke.
It's also why I won't.
Tony never smoked. He got throat cancer from second hand smoke
Exactly, smoking hurts others as well. Don't smoke.
That is why no one should smoke because you are endangering other people too.
@@grobanite4ever85 Some asshole smoked and then Tony got throat cancer? That's worse.
"Size adjusting ... fit"
"Jacket drying ...... Your jacket is now dry!"
You forgot that meeeep sound :)
Awesome!
Wow!!! that dude could sing in an A'Cappella Choir!
all throat cancer survivors should get the true tone artificial larynx!!!!!!! this device can change your life!!!!!!!
@SlipknotHeadless Yes it will but not as clear because your vocal cords will obstruct the sound clarity but as for the sound it will sound the same just not as loud. :~)
He sounds really natural. Technology has sure came a long way!

I am just curious, is there one of these devices which will get rid of the buzzing noise altogether? In otherwords, it would suppress the buzzing noise and convert the sound to a regular sounding voice (digitally), which could be changed to different male voices or female voices ?
Tem algum representante no Brasil?
how long has tony been using the true tone artificial larynx ? and who thought of this wonderful speech aid ?! and how can i contact tony ? let me know :)
It needs nerve conduction, to control pitch that would be the next step.
@jjovereats that is Tommy from the truth campaign

+Jesse Oostdam In all seriousness, I don't think anyone can keep a straight face, especially when he speaks without taking a break xD

If you've got $1000 laying around, you can purchase it.
@natedog2004 Yes the Tru Tone is better in every way :~)
so let me get this straight each time you press the button soft or hard it can do different pitches ?? quite interesting ! :)
Sure, like a PlayStation controller in analog mode.
Can someone use this if u can talk normle to?
you are smart smoking causes cancer and i have seen people use a artificial larynx to speak with or they use esophageal speech or they use what is called t.e.p. or a trachea esophageal puncture
This remember me the sound of the voice of the combine in half life
To anyone new and looking to decide which device to select I would not go with this I prefer the more convenient and practical implants voice protheses by Inheath technologies for the following reasons 1. It’s more natural with air coming out your mouth not an echo with a buzz in the background (they all buzz I think this vid is altered to sell the device) 2. The most important is it is cleaner both in catching any drool ( a major problem) or breathing in ( housing with removable filtered button will warm ,filter and moisturizes the air) 3.provides protection from any object that may get in the opening 3. Is always with you as opposed to grabbing a device in your pocket or you left in the car.
Yes it has a few negatives like cleaning if it gets plugged overnight and costs depending on your insurance (housing last me almost a week and implant needs replaced recommended every 6 months but I go 1 year with Medicare I think my costs are only few dollars a week ) one last note..they do have a hands free insert which is nice if you want to talk without touching you throat however it has to be adjusted with you breathing requirements like climbing stairs or even walking also your breathing is more noticeable in a quiet room if the adjustment is not set right. Hope this helps.
Start with this according ti my surgeon, then in 6mos it a year get a prothesis
This is the sample of the Bode Vocoder, it sounds relatively close to the Moog Vocoder,
Here’s what it sounds like when we change the keys, creating all sorts of melodies.
I change the pitch from high to low, so everybody can enjoy the show.
This is a vintage analog machine, it sounds impressive and very clean.
No Vocoder comes even close, as for sound clarity Bode is the most.
Analog Vocoders are the best in sound, compared to virtual they’re number one hands down.
All I need is percussion and bass, then mix it down with the interface.
If you decide to finish the mix, make sure to use Vocoder tricks.
so you met tony wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did he use his true tone larynx to speak?! please tell me:D
_Technology has changed_
Would the device pick up and transmit the vibrations on the forehead of an elephant? Currently those frequencies are not audible to humans.
Why do they have to press down on it. Can it just automatically come on
Harder Better Faster Stronger
Woah, i think this is the guy who voiced the speak and spell!! Just kidding, great technology!
He sounds like Ned Gerblansky from South Park…
My father has started using the tru tone today, however, he sounds nothing like Tommy. The instrument's noise seems to be louder than the voice my father is able to generate with the tru tone. What can we do?
how much is this? i don't have a voice because i have a scar blocking my airway so i have a tracheostomy tube. there is no air that can pass throug my airway..so dont have a voice...would this thing applicable for me?
@TonyTZful dude !!!!
Speech impediment Is this for me?
what if all you have is air that comes out of your mouth, can you still make sound of a voice?
"Uuuh. BAM! BAMBAMBAM! I'm not defective!"
He's using my dad and my uncle.
We will be
