- Here's a quick tour of our 2003 chevy astro camper van. We bought this lifted beast in April 2022 and have spent the last year building out the floor, walls, custom cabinets, bed frame, storage, and more.
Many van lifers choose Chevy Astro (& GMC Safari) vans because they are compact, reliable, and affordable. We chose the Astro for the same reasons. The Astro also comes in AWD.
There are still a few finishing touches we plan to add, but Finn (our van) is road and camping-ready! We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

I hope this isnt too late to ask as I notice you guys arent doing van vids as often anymore… but can you please please please share the specs on the exterior mods on your astro! I feel like all the other Astros ive seen do not compare to how badass yours look and I always come back to your vids every time just to admire loll My partner and I are gonna start pretty soon and your build is an inspiration! Instead of replacing the cooler with a refrigerator get a very small one and use it as a freezer to chill blocks for the fridge
This is an idea we’ve never heard before, thanks. Is this what you do and how long do the blocks last?
@@HappyKhamper it varies on conditions. But I've seen several full timers do that. The nice thing is you're able to vary the size of cool storage by using more or fewer soft insulated bags instead of a giant cooler that might be half empty

What about water, sink and cook stove etc? Nice job.
Thank you, we should film a tour of our cooking setup. We prefer not to cook in the van, but have a few table options and usually grill or use a single burner to cook meals. What’s your favorite camp meal?

Did you do the S-10 transfer case swap?
We haven’t swapped it, so we have whatever is stock for 2003 awd astros
Aye yo can I ask you how you insure the van and how much time you spend in the van?
It’s insured like a regular car, not RV class B. We use the van 5-10 times a year for weekend or weeklong road trips.
No solar how to charge because mobile devices
We had a small power station, flash fish brand. But just upgraded to the jackery! Excited to try it out
