    I love my IMSG+. Played a big part in my last system. Found all the perfect xover points and the internal volume of my odd shaped box.

    that was interesting!!..I wish you had shown the visual tuning to see how it matched the electronic tuning from the SMD

    What is the tuning frequency for the single 12 ported enclosure.

    Can u do a video with the test tone that you talk about in this video? Most people watching this dont have the money to by these 100 dollar plus tools to tune one or two set ups amd thats it

      Jeff, this is a short clip from the full length show Kicker does every Tuesday night. They actually show how to find tuning with a tone generator and your eyes in the full length show, go check it out.

    Is tuning frequency the same as frequency range on the specs sheet?

    What's the tuning for the 12" you mentioned in the video?

    Why don't kicker list the tuning frequency on their loaded enclosures? Seems like an easy stat to list and would take a lot of guesswork out of making purchasing decisions.

    • @KICKER-AUDIO
      @KICKER-AUDIO  Před 2 lety +1

      Interesting point. Would you believe you're the first person to ask for it? The reality is that most of our enclosures are tuned in the low to mid 30's. Some higher, some lower. If you want specifics, ask our techs here: support@kicker.com.

    How does rhat thing even work it dont make sense lol subs are off and not moving so how are u getting an ohm reading and a tuning frequency of box and nothing movin

    • @KICKER-AUDIO
      @KICKER-AUDIO  Před 11 měsíci

      It has a low-power amplifier in it. Remember - the goal is simply to find the lowest ohm load, which doesn't require a lot of power. That in turn tells you the tuning frequency, since the lowest amount of resistance means the sub is moving as freely as it can in a sealed environment. It may not seem like it's moving, but it is, otherwise you wouldn't hear a tone. The main reason is because its not a lot of power and the camera is nearly straight in front of it.

    Not a very informative video.

    • @KICKER-AUDIO
      @KICKER-AUDIO  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Given the point of the video is to find the tuning frequency of an enclosure, what info were you hoping to get, but didn't?

    • @TonyTube407
      @TonyTube407 Před 6 měsíci

      You don't explain what you're doing while you're doing it. The impedance cycles up and down multiple times but you don't explain which cycle you're looking for, i.e. you find 2.9 ohms more than once. Later, you mention speaker cone movement, but you can't see it move in the video. Finally, you're not clear that this is used for vented enclosures ONLY which may not be obvious to many, especially when passive radiators are not very common and they appear very similar to an actual driver. Reading the comments, it seems like I'm not the only one who's confused. The only reason I can say all this is because I got what I needed from other videos, and I wanted to circle back to yours and express my confusion. I appreciate you asking and I should have been more detailed to begin with. I've enjoyed Stillwater Designs products for decades. Thanks for video, I didn't mean to come across so abruptly. @@KICKER-AUDIO

      @@TonyTube407this works for more then just ported enclosures. You can find the FB of a sealed enclosure by looking for the peak instead of the valley.
