Just wanted to chime in and say that I use both the basehead garage meter and the SMD amm1. I completely agree with Parker's assessment that they both work great and both have different usage. I love to run the watt meter mounted up on my system to feed me constant information about what my amp is doing. I also really love the portability of the SMD and the ability to clamp any of my friends or clients system on demand. They're both fantastic and I'm glad I bought both of them. No regrets here

Really brings a smile to my face to see you guys embracing and welcoming Parker into this elite group of enthusiasts. Parker's a great guy and his positivity and humility is infectious. I think all in all this is a fantastic meeting of the minds and I hope to see more of it!

I had two 12” Kicker Comp VR’s (01C12VR4) in a small sealed box with 1 cubic ft per side back in the day. Those subs could get real deep and hit hard. I bought them because I’d heard various round Solo Barics and saw that the Comp VR’s could also work in small sealed boxes.

Not much talk about the east coast (specifically NYC and the surrounding areas) picking up on Kicker with a few distributors and the whole crazy Free Air Scene. It seems to me by 1987 these speakers came out of nowhere and took over where companies like Cerwin Vega, Kenwood, Lanzar, etc just fell off and local dealers were saying, try these. The next thing for my group was to pull backseats out and put in 4 10’s or 12’s and then it was more of a question of, What are we going to power these with? Very modest this man is. Great Video! I’m now out of that whole game (mostly due to alternators and batteries being so damn expensive and not easy to replace) that now my older self is listening to podcasts and the factory stereos are now at another level and extremely acceptable.

My biggest question is, why are we still waiting for amplifiers? Like why were the KX and IQ amplifiers discontinued and in favor of the CX and now barely the warhorse amps? The IQ amplifiers were sick! Still have mine and it's fully featured from teh bass knob being unique and innovative with it's controls and the built in controllable DSP. Felt like a next-gen amp, discontinuing them and rolling with just the CX ones felt like a step back a decade in technology. I suppose there is the key amps, but they just don't quite offer what I'd like tbh. The KX amps were cool too, but I wasn't a fan of the wireless bass knob. It's gotta be on the way for a new amplifier line right??

For SPL competitions, yes. I'm an SQL guy myself, cut everything below 36 Hz @ 36 or 42db IMO.

Everyone does not like cca wire.i use it on my 2000 watt inverter no problem wire gets a little warm just like copper wire Running 2awg wire. Only I need to figure out is the inverter efficiency between the two! Other than that I like cca. Also wondering why they make it if no one likes it!?

Is there any of your speakers lines that are tuned to a frequency other than A440 rothschild standard harmful frequency. I hear 417hz or 432 as well as a few others are good for sound and the body as frequencies affect the natural frequency in our bodies. A440 is a very slow unnoticeable body damaging frequency. No good.

Question about the peak of a speaker. If the speaker is rated 100w rms with a peak of 300w, does that mean you can play a 300w signal through the speakers without blowing them as long as there are no clipped signals going to the speakers? I always go by the RMS wattage of any speaker thinking if I can match the RMS wattage without clipping they would sound great and I would never blow them.

Bought a blown comp s (mainly for the ported box) so I purchased a comp vr 10 to throw into that box in hopes I’ll have some bump in the trunk on top of getting my trunk space back from the massive box my 12’ Sony Xplod is sitting in and taking up. Saw the frequency response for the 10 and was surprised to read a 25hz reading on there. Can’t wait to try it out

A product that works exactly as advertised. Used it to flatten frequency response from the factory head unit of a 2012 kia sorento. The bass frequencies rolled off dramatically below 50 hertz, adding the keyloc completely repaired the signal, boosting from 20 to 50 hertz correctly. I use it specifically to improve the signal to my bass amp and subwoofer combo. It's pretty cool to do the a/b comparison by toggling the keyloc button to hear in real time 'before and after' sound quality. 10/10.

Kicker has 4 Solo X 18´s in a big studio. I have 2 in my(VW golf 3 Style) car since 2011 and 2 brand new x18´s
