- Happy Father's Day, Danny! We bought a 1956 Cub Farmall Tractor. It is the same type tractor Danny learned to garden with as a child. He loves the memories it has brought back and the fun learning to plow with this tractor as an adult.

I remember about 1951, we sold the mules, and went to Sears and bought the David Bredley Trector. It was such an improvement, we sold it and bought a Freguson and WOW did we start making money. Loved growing up on a farm in northeast Alabama. Life was good. A friend on a neighboring farm had a tractor like Danny's and I was impressed at how versatile it was. Danny, God meant for you to have that. If it is 1956 International Harvester in Melrose Park, IL, my Dad had his hands on your tractor. In the late 40s, my Mom worked there as it was then a Buick plant, and she worked building engines for B24s, I think, but then the War came to the end, so she only worked there a while. I have pictures of me in 1944-5, and I'm now 77. I remember this stuff as well as the radio soap commercials on radio.

First tractor we ever had was one just like that one. We transitioned from horses to the tractor. Dad changed over most of the horse drawn tools to pull behind the tractor.
Oh wow, that's exactly the one my granddaddy had. I used to ride with my dad every Saturday we worked in the garden. And that was EVERY Saturday, us kids had no choice. He kept it in his barn along with their car and the barn caught fire one day and burned both of them all up. The memories I have of that, just to be able to go back in time just for one day......
Our first tractor for our place was a 1949 Farmall Cub and we loved it. Sold it a few years ago, but wish we would of kept it. Only paid $1500 and got a Lot of pieces to go with it. You have a great Blessing there Danny. That tractor is amazing. God is so good. Happy Fathers Day !!!! 🙏🇺🇸♥️

I will paraphrase. Does HE not know the needs and the fall of every sparrow? Has HE not numbered even the hairs of your head? Are y’all not worth more to HIM than many sparrows? HE made us for two purposes: to tend His garden and to provide HIM with fellowship. HE OBVIOUSLY has been anticipating this double “gotcha” for most of your life. Let us ALWAYS be thankful to HIM and bless HIS NAME for all the uncountable multitude of HIS blessings, whether we are aware of them or not. Even hard times can be blessings, but we have to be willing to learn the lessons that only hard times can teach. We can learn - or become - the lesson. It is FAR better to humble ourselves than be humiliated. Choices always have consequences.
Danny you know the best part is that is the Lord made sure that tractor was passed on to a person that knows its operation and truly appreciates it.
There are times when you just know that the Lords blessings are upon you. Our God is an awesome God! Congrats and can't wait to see that beauty in action.

saw one on my mail rout today. sitting out beside an old barn rusted up and probably 6-8 attachments sitting in a row almost covered up with weeds. somebody needs to rescue it.

That's are cool tractor, I've had a few of the yellow a white cub cadet from the 60s and 70s. My grandpa used one two mow his 4 acres of yard. He bought it new in 1969, the year I was born a year and my daddy restored it and still has it. GOD did send you that tractor.😇😇😇

You were meant to be the next owner of that tractor! My granddaddy had one of the yellow & grey Cub Farmall tractors, and a old 1 cylinder John Deere. He loved that Cub and used it the most on his 55 acre retirement farm.

That was immaculate timing! There are no coincidences, what a blessing and one beautiful machine!! They do not build things today to last like they used to.. years ago thr craftsmanship mattered. Today we have planned obsolescence with things being built to intentionally break down to incur regular income for parts and repair so the company can continuously erake in more money from the consumer.. I love my 1990 dodge ram Cummins Turbo Diesel , I remember the day my dad bought her brand new. He took me to get my permit in this truck and when he passed the truck came to me. It still runs like a champ.. nothing like to sound of a well built old engine.

I love old tractors! I rescued a B450 English diesel tri-cycle tractor from a field a few years back. Thing was ginormus!
This was when things were made to last generations. Planned obsolescence was not a thing.

Love those old tractors. Our neighbor had one when I was a kid and used it in there truck patch for many years. They eventually moved away and sold it. I wish I could have bought it for our own use these many years later. Looks and runs great Danny. God Bless you all. What a great blessing for you both.
My Grandpa and most of the farmers in his neighborhood bought Cubs in the late 1940s and especially the 50s. All of them bought them to raise tobacco with as well as garden. Grandpa's which was a 1955 model, was the first tractor I ever drove and used. One of my cousins has it today. I have my Daddy's Farmall 140.

Hi Danny, congratulations!! Love those old Farmalls. My dad gave me a '48 Cub before he passed away last year. And it's getting used around our place, too. We don't have the disc hillers, those would be a nice attachment. We also don't have hydraulics on ours but I can see how that would be really handy. I haven't figured out how much or how little it may get used in our new high tunnel (30 x 96) just going up but one never knows what task it may be called upon to help with. It's already been used for a deep plowing of our open gardens, and more. Love those old tractors. But also am honored to sit in the same seat my dad sat in to plow, disc and cultivate, working the earth as he did before me. I love that connection as well. Blessings to you & Wanda!
