Sniper Elite 5 is third-person tactical shooter stealth video game developed and published by Rebellion Developments. It is the sequel to Sniper Elite 4. It sees OSS agent Karl Fairburne take the fight to occupied France, 1944 (pre-D-Day), where he, alongside local resistance fighters, must stop "Projekt Kraken", a top secret Nazi project that, if completed, will turn the war in the Nazi's favor.

In the summer of 1944, the small French village of Sainte-Mère-Église, nestled near Omaha Beach, found itself at the heart of the conflict between the Allied forces and the German Nazi army. Among the brave souls defending this village was Monika Grep, a skilled sniper of the French Resistance.
Monika had taken up a position in the bell tower of the village church, her keen eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of the enemy. The village was eerily quiet, the calm before the storm. She knew that the Germans would not let this strategic location go without a fight.
As dawn broke, the rumble of armored cars and the menacing silhouette of Tiger II tanks appeared on the outskirts of the village. Monika steadied her breath, her rifle trained on the advancing enemy. She spotted a German sniper on a patrol boat in the nearby river, his scope glinting in the early morning light. With a swift, calculated shot, she neutralized the threat, ensuring the safety of her comrades.
The battle intensified as the German forces pushed forward. Monika’s sharp shooting skills were crucial in taking out key targets, slowing the enemy’s advance. The Resistance fighters, though outnumbered and outgunned, fought valiantly, using their intimate knowledge of the village to their advantage.
The Tiger II tanks roared through the narrow streets, their heavy armor seemingly impervious to the small arms fire. Monika directed her fire towards the exposed crew members, picking them off one by one. The Resistance fighters used Teller mines and captured Panzerfaust to disable the tanks, turning the village into a fiery battleground.
Despite the overwhelming odds, Monika and her fellow Resistance fighters held their ground. The arrival of Allied reinforcements from Omaha Beach turned the tide of the battle. The German forces, realizing they were outmatched, began to retreat.
As the smoke cleared and the sounds of battle faded, Monika descended from her perch in the bell tower. The village was scarred, but it stood free. Monika’s bravery and skill had played a pivotal role in defending Sainte-Mère-Église, a testament to the indomitable spirit of the French Resistance.
