Thanks for the video. I've got the very same problem with that banjo bolt having been cross-threaded, and it's been tightened up so much that the manifold has cracked and is leaking. I'm relieved to learn I don't need to completely remove the DPF to get the manifold nuts undone! I removed the DPF only a few months ago to clean it, and I swore I'd never do it again because I had to remove the engine mount to get it out the bottom.
Hey buddy thanks for watching. Yes you can imagine the relief I had when I realised I could remove the bolts! The thought of doing it from the bottom was not exciting to say the least 🤣
Hi, guys, I have a 2013 bmw 3.0 twinturbo diesel N57. I replaced a coolant hose pipe. In order to replace this, I had to remove the manifold (+few sensors / lines etc).. now I’ve put the car back together, when I fire the car up. It takes around 5-7 seconds to start. It feels like it will fail to start, but always starts. Power is full. Drive is normal.. never had this issue before. (No engine lights) (nothing on code reader. Any ideas what it can be ? Thank you
Guessing its a fuel issue. Might just be air trapped in the system or like a vacuum line. If not then i’d say your best bet is take off the manifold again and check everything. Much more time-efficient than trying to diagnose with no actual idea
@@whiskeybluez sure no probs. Just going from memory these are the ones you’ll see along the way. More down to you what you need aswell. Exhaust manifold gaskets x3 (each one covers 2 ports) Pressure sensor banjo bolt (if needed) and washers on this Gasket from manifold to turbo (quite strong so might not be needed) Gasket from turbo to dpf

Good video, thanks mate 👍
No probs hope it helps
Nice video! excellent detail....did you empty your DPF? is your car running ok after DPF removal? no mapping needed?
Thanks in adavance
Thanks. Yes you can drive with gutted dpf but it smokes and has been throwing codes etc on my scanner. Much better though and worth it 😄

You got the DPF out from the top???
So N57 is completely different to M57?
M57 is a nightmare taking the DPF out, this looks way to easy.
Yea M57 is meant to be a nightmare. Had them both now and the N57 is definitely a nicer setup to work on
@@houseofcars6998 would you mind listing all the gasket and bolts to have ready from bmw for the job?>
