Hi Robert I have had some of my best days fishing on the small river Halladale and would love to make it back there sometime in the future. Hi Roy Thanks for the encouraging comment ... I have had spells of not catching but always kept going... It sometimes takes a while before you catch your first and once you have the pressure is off and you can relax and you will find that more fish will come to the fly..... so pretend you have had a fish relax and enjoy your fishing and hopefully you will send me a message telling me about your experience. tight lines Iain 🎣🎣👍😊

Hi Gregor I'm back up there this weekend and the river is running 7inches bellow summer level with no hope of rain Maybe I'll do some sunbathing because I don't think I'll do much catching. cheers Iain
Back in the 'old' days when you couldnt afford oil on the reel, Sound like u can now on ur later vids so i am glad your bank account is feeling better:)))
I have to get my priorities right , my Gopro has been telling me that the batteries are low in power when I know that they still have power and sometimes they cut out . ....so the oil will have to wait. I take it that your comment about my bank account referrers to adverts . Can you please have a look at the CZcams terms and conditions . They have allowed themselves to add adverts to videos when ever they want . I have selected only skippable or short adverts at the start of any video and no adverts in the middle . There are no adverts in the middle or is there anything interrupting once the video starts . My bank account has improved in August I received 2 pence
OOPs The reel is a bit like myself we both do a bit squeaking due to lack of use . That reel has been relegated to the drawer beside my bank statements and nasty letters from my bank manager.

Hi John Thank you for your comment. The fly started of as a silver stoats tail years ago and changed over the years .... I never named it ..It was a gent called John that was until this month was treasurer of the Perth & District . I had given him a fly and when he returned a salmon from the Tay he logged it on the web site as an Iain Bain special ...... I have fished the Halladale for quite a few years now with mixed water levels and have had some great catches.... but when like this year there was no rain the fish never made it into the river until late on in the season. I am looking forward to my next trip North ... tight lines for next year Cheers Iain
For goodness sake, learn to double-spey (its easy - I can do it!) and put some oil on your reel spindle/handle. The dip-stick on your car engine will deliver! BUT, lovely to see a Scot fishing one of HIS rivers!

Had a trip to the lochy earlier in June was the same no water came home a day early
