WE BOTH FELL.... KIMBLEWICK INTER SPEED TEAM CHASE 2023

Kimblewick Intermediate Speed Team Chase
What was on it’s way to being another speedy clear for Inky and I ended 2 fences from home with a crash😢
Inky was jumping phenomenally the whole way (despite some navigational errors between 7 & 8 which were totally my fault!!!) and I still don’t really know what happened. He didn’t feel tired and we got a good shot but for whatever reason he left a leg/legs at fence 24 and we rotated over it. I feel very lucky that he catapaulted me forwards so he didn’t roll on top of me as it could’ve been much worse.
Inky got straight up (I went to grab him but then couldn’t see anything when I stood up so had to sit down again😂) and actually carried on jumping to finish the course without me! Sadly two team mates also fell but at the last fence so an elimination for us all🙈
Left in some chatter at the end that I don’t remember even saying😂 Thankyou to the poor steward who had to deal with my very annoying panicked questions over my wrist as I was already stressing about the potential repercussions for my work (which is working in horses!)- she was very patient with me😂
I’m relatively okay, a bit battered and sore but again it could’ve been much worse. Inky seems in high spirits but will be kept an eye on the next few days and have decided to withdraw him from Oakley TC next weekend just to be safe. Sad our Spring Season didn’t end on a high but grateful we both came home safe❤️
