I love that you think about these communities. My wife is blind and her and I play board games like Twilight Struggle and Star Wars Rebellion. I adapted those games for her to use Excel to draw cards, have card descriptions etc. Her and I were literally crying laughing at your previous low vision game video and shared it with many of our friends. I've been a fan of your channel ever since, and I can't wait to share this video with Sarah.
This seems like a prime game to procedurally generate tracks or make it an endless type thing.
Yes. It's now my idea, i got the idea all by myself thank you :)
As always, straight to the point no bs. You never disappoint.
He's definitely fully established himself as a fully no bs youtuber, massive respect to him considering the current landscape on youtube...
This man just made a 1-minute video on something others would have stretched out to 15 or 20. This is the best game dev channel of it's kind.
ah, yes, we hate in-depth explanations over here...
@@the-birbo I mean, unironically yeah...
@@dumbbass8867 ew
id probably rather see more about it. At least some gameplay from the player's point of as I don't have a controller myself.
Based.
This is so awesome. You should try to find some deaf-blind schools to show this to, as the students will obviously have a hard time finding it themselves on CZcams.
If you have teacher resource platforms in your area, you can upload it there/link to it. Also maybe making a custom manual with the stamps for rules could be cool (as in print it an have the stamps positions already aligned)
Good idea, but I want to say that blind people don't usually have a hard time finding things on the Internet, not even CZcams. Most deaf people can navigate the Internet perfectly fine with screen readers nowadays.
@@emmafm7683 deaf people.... and screen readers? you sure about that?
@@sonicSnap it’s reads the screen for you they’re listening to what the phone says
@@Nabikko they cant listen to it, they're deaf.
It's always cool to see you working on alternative control/feedback schemes.
Awesome idea! Would love to see more content about inclusive game design!
This is a brilliant idea! I love the execution too!
I'm curious how many games you can really make using such limited IO. With feedback basically limited to two 1 dimensional outputs (strong vibration and weak vibration), what games can you make?
Theoretically any game, because two states is enough to encode any information (there's actually 3 states here: strong, weak, and not vibrating). It's really a matter of creative interpretation of bits in a way that the human can imagine in their mind.
@@dandymcgee i can imagine the biggest obstacle is learning how to play rather than the creation of the game itself. the more creative you get with this limited input, the more complex (and probably confusing) it is to learn. i can imagine it would feel similar to chinese characters. two characters with just a slight difference mean completely different things in the same way that two slightly different variations of your input can mean vastly different actions
I can even think of a 3d shooter. It could simulate some kind of supersonic radar kidn of thing. The nearer an object is the more intense is the top vibration. The bottom vibration could still be used to differentiate between objects.
Text adventures using Morse code.
@@BeyondSleepy I think a game built around 2 player communication could be cool. Players feel messages and attempt to pass them on to each other. You could even bake in a prisoners dilemma type system where you get points based on cooperation or deception
I love these accessability-fcoused games from you. They also remind me of your tutorial on how to make the most inaccessable game, which is how I discovered your channel.
i really love the way you always cut straight to the point. love your vids
Awesome! I love how much thought you put into your design.
This is a very nice idea. Great video as always man!
This is such a good idea! I've always thought about how people who are blind miss out on so many amazing games, glad we have devs like you who try making games out of the box 😁
Simple straight to the point and a great concept I love it
Just realize that what this video is a minute long
I missed this one somehow. I just want to say, this is awesome. I have been fighting blindness since I was a child and have often thought of making a game for blind folks. Kudos, keep it up!
Thanks for the video miz!
This is so dope! Very cool🔥
I'd love to see someone actually play this!
That looks and sounds like a really cool concept (pun not intended). The only real issue I see are the constant vibrations harming the hand's muscles and nervous system, so Id imagine a game like this being the best for short sessions of play
Wait, that can happen?
It’s worth considering but I kinda doubt that controllers have the power and frequency to cause such harm
This man is so creative!
This is so wholesome I cannot even.
I don't have any disabilities, but it's become a relevant topic for me recently and it really opened up my eyes about how much can be done to include people with disabilities. So seeing these projects of yours is really interesting and fun. Thanks for doing these and making them open source, too.
I just remembered your channel and ended up being early 😂
that's a great idea miz.
Dang I was ready for about 10 minutes of quality miziziziziiziziziz content. Great stuff though
Just what I was looking for while reloading my subscriptions at 10:00 😔🤘
The algorithm is in love with this man
straight to da point thank you c: and nice game
like really other youtubers waste a lot of time with intros outros etc.. explaining that we ned to subsc**** and li*e.
This is a really cool idea.
Do wanna say though that you mixed up the xbox 360 controller with the xbox one controller
360 controller only has two large rumble motors. The smaller trigger ones weren't introduced until xbox one. Might have been why you couldn't isolate the smaller ones (although not 100% sure if you could do that anyway) but very cool how you were able to pull off this concept with those limitations!
These videos are so interesting.
Top notch quality
Ill always remember the guy who completed the first two Oddworld games even though he was blind. He just used the sound based context queues for anything happening on screen or off screen and the game was grid based so gaps, items or doors where always in a set place. Those games are hard af for a person with perfect hearing/vision so its a sign of dedication player but also good game design.
thanks for making this game :)
Let the speed runs begin!
Yay new video
really cool idea... damn
That's awesome.
This is great
Man, you are so fuck*ng good
Visionary
nice ;D
I love you on Bob's Burgers.
Could you integrate more features using different frequencies of vibration? Like signaling how far an opponent is ahead or behind, maybe even using the Doppler effect to indicate relative speed
This is really fuckin' cool.
if you could isolate all 4 motors, this would be epic, the top motors could warn you to how sharp the corner ahead is, and the handle ones are the before described function, then you could implement different things setting off both left and right motors to convey more information... i wonder how hard it would be to make a custom controller
Dude your some kind of tutorial youtube wizard
This would work great with joycons. I bet it wouldn't be too difficult to make a prototype in their new game builder app.
I'd love to see someone uncover the full potential of HD Rumble to make games like this.
@Mizizizizi
Why do you prefer Godot over Unity and UE4?
You wouldn't make a lot of money from such games but you'd get a lot more gratitude from it's players
Smart idea
What about that weird tiltsense controller from the ps3? Or is that just too obscure?
Hey miziziz can u make an updated version of doom clone if possible on the newer version of godot if possible
this is smart af
It's been a long time since the last devlog
This would be amazing with the PS5 Dualsense controllers. Hopefully these HD haptic features become more common in controllers.
Maybe it could be used the dual sense controller from ps5 to make a more complete idea out of this.
Do you know if it's possible to use the ps5 dual sense functions on PC?
It's a shame you can't do left and right vibrations but that's a neat solution!
I first read "How to make a racist game for deaf-blind people" and was pretty curious of what it meant XD
can you make the elder scrolls daggerfall clone?
Miziziziz pleeeeeeease post another video 😥
I wish you made a tutorial for pseudo 3D racing game in Godot, like Outrun or Top Gear games, would even pay for it on uDemy.
Was the engine sound supposed to harmonize with the outro? Because it did
nice
Limitations push creativity!
The Nintendo switches vibration is very advanced, maybe you should try that
when is the next miziziziz game jam?
Hi miziziziziziziziziziz I was wondering what programming language u use
Good vibrations
I wonder what more you could do with a PS5 controller and their new haptic feedback features.
Is it a best framework LÖVE?
Wow
how do you download if blind?
I have this same controller, and I’ve had to take it apart a bunch of times. But there are only two motors, not 4. The weak vibration motor is on one side, and the strong one is on the other. I know you’re not lying, and I doubt you’re wrong either, so where is this discrepancy coming from?
I don't think it's a good idea to assume anyone of never lying nor being wrong. In this case probably the motor configuration he described comes from XBox One controller
I hope we get to see Tommy Edison play this
My wife would love this game
It's in his desc. nartier.itch.io/vibracer You can download it here.
im starting school soon for game design and one of the things I want to accomplish is making games for deaf and blind people and any other less fortunate gamer
Ps5 controller the vibration is so specific
First comment!
Ah shoot, just wait till my deaf-blind friends see and hear about this.
"learn about this"?
@@JanPospisilArt Well sure, if you wanna take the fun out of it :(
OH YOU MONSTER I JUST GOT THE JOKE HAHAHAHA
Thats a short devlog
Make a rtx mod xD
I see how this would be cool if you were blind, but if you're deaf you can still see the track.
How do you explain to blind-deaf person what a game is
There's no motion components in or near the triggers. Nothing at all. On the Xbox360 controller, there are two identical motors driven with the same voltage and PWMed individually, they're both in the handles, but they have two different weights attached to them. The one in the left handle has a heavy weight on it, so it's slow and punchy, and the one in the right handle has a small weight on it, so it's fast. The vibration feel however isn't really localised to where the motors are.
This setup was copied over directly from DualShock.
Yeah I noticed the same thing. I’m curious as to why he thought there was.
Isn't there two motors literally attached to the triggers? Could have sworn I saw that when I opened mine up.
@@toms2oo8 On Xbox One controller, yes, so that's what he's likely confusing it with. On Xbox 360 one, no. Triggers are empty plastic pieces, and they're connected with two linkages to potentiometers.
On Xbox One, the potentiometers and linkages were also replaced with Hall effect linear sensors on the PCB and a magnet in the trigger extension, like on Dreamcast.
I think I read the wrong controller specs online, probably xbox one. I do feel the vibration more towards the front and back though strangely, ratherthan left and right
Hey,
There's a deaf-blind school close to my place where I can get real-time feedback.
you should work with actual Deaf/Blind people to make a game they think is fun. This just seems more like a sensory toy than a game.
I think you should have made it so you can turn around but it makes the whole controler pulse to let you know you're going the wrong way
1st?
Notification go brrrrr
We got the bread
Yeppers! Good job.
secon AHAhahahahaha
i bet you $100 nobody who watched this was blind and deaf
Rapide.
How do you explain the game to a blind-deaf guy tho
braille
Just reading deafblind already had me sad.
What a cruel fate.
My mate is blind but neither of us have Xbox controllers
can i give you a critique ? you are developing a game for normal sigh people that handcap people can play, i don't thing this concept will be fun for them, because they don't see and with that they don't feel the acomplish of going fast, just the anoying of trying not to make the controller vibrate. the first question that developers have to put on their minds is : are their game fun ?
Question though, how would a deaf-blind person know that it's a game?
Because being deaf or blind isn’t correlated to your cognitive function
@@BACKSPACECADET I understand that, but what about being both? How can they distinguish that its a game?
@@thamir2916 that’s why the game is designed with vibration, they can still feel
@@thamir2916 you can tell them it’s a game (perhaps using Braille), and ask them if they want to play it
I was wondering why you made the graphics so simple.. then reali9zed it was for blind people..

no need for artists just sayin
