So, i figured all mobs that can be pushed back gets pushed back in the exact opposite direction of their movement. This means that when they jellyfish are moving away from you, and you push them back, they get pushed into you instead :) Great video
Yep - when moving away, the bible 'knockback' bumps them back into you.

This was highly enjoyable, I'm new to the game and have been watching your channel for the past couple days, your game knowledge and content for vamp survival is unmatched.
I'm sure someone else had commented it but just incase, knockback in this game isn't traditional knockback, it just makes enemies move in the opposite direction they are already going, so if they are going away from you, you "knock them back" towards you
which means, waves are dangerous!
That bracer really made the difference
La Borra's size scaling actually has a specific cap in place to not be penalised by lowered movespeed. It's clamped to 1 so you do lose the slight benefit of the powerup but otherwise La Borra simply doesn't pool up all that much on regular stats (though Spellbinder should have helped a bit more than it seemed to).
The "chicken snake" monsters are Cockatrice, they are quite similar to Basilisks and have been considered one and the same at times. Apparently the cockatrice was inspired by birds helping crocodiles rather than venomous serpents however.

It's an amazingly addictive game and I've really been enjoying your channel. But this video has by far been the one I've enjoyed most. The constant tinkering with setups and tension while playing was hilarious at times. Great job!
I can explain the jellyfish phenomena. Knockback makes an enemy jump the opposite way of enemy's current speed. Jellyfish sometimes goes away from you, and if you hit it in that moment, knockback kicks it closer to you.

It looks like the octopuses get pushed in the opposite direction they want to traveling in. So when they start heading away from you again garlic triggers and yeets them towards you instead of away.
That was perfectly insane. Very well done!
I have noticed this in the game, I think the knockback mechanic is linear and directional, if an enemy is moving away from you and you knock it back using any knockback from any weapon, it pushes the enemy in the opposite direction meaning towards you. that's what's happening.

I think the pulsing of how close they get to you at the end has more to do with the changing size due to the arcana then killing the mobs. Could be wrong but looked like it matched the bone size.
This, 100%. It was Boogaloo of Illusions. And it affects everything, not just the bones and bombs, but also the area of garlic, song, and la borra. That's why the differences were so drastic.

I think MissingNO is actually one of the best characters because u can get his hp stat as 0 or negative numbers so he is immortal

next up a modded run with -90% area and no self-targeting weapons
~31:33 a jellyfish was getting knocked around by the books and probably had a weird interaction with garlic and it's own movement so it ended up in your face instead of going with the group
then if you slow the video down to 0.25 when you die shortly after you'll see 3-4 jellyfish moving at light speed
I think what happened is that knockback is applied in reverse to their movement, so while they moved back after moving in, the knockback caused them to, well, get knocked back, but that back was into me lol

@@justanobody1726 No, it's just what Dex said. Knockback is applied in the opposite direction monsters are moving. You can see it easily with the swarms that occasionally rush across the screen in some of the levels. No matter where you're standing when you hit them, they'll always be knocked back the way they came from.
Related, Death has negative knockback resistance, causing him to be knocked _towards_ the direction he's going (you).

Yes, that's how I did it. You just gotta choose one of the chars that are empty in the game file. You can search for "Red Death" and scroll up/down in main.bundle.js and search for one that is not obfuscated. Then copy that name and insert it via the MissingNo method

looks like the bible bounced the jelly fish inside you cuz they move fast enough to make it through the garlic ticks i guess. took me alot of pausing to see it but 2 of them got inside the garlic and hit the inner part of the bible and bounced them into you.

7mins in . You keep skipping armor , but then picks empty heart for 20% more hp. But with armor 3 to 4, it will give the same...protection?? ish??
What I mean is, it's all number crunching that ends in a % of your total health in the end.

Damage in the game can't go below 1. The char has 1.33 hp and that's the only reason he can survive some hits.
Max hollow heart will put him at 2.78 health, so he can tank 4-5 hits depending on recovery time
2.78 because health upgrades increase based on the current health, so multiplicative, not based on base health
With heart of fire you can actually do it on every map.

@@DexTag Right. But on begining you said it was only possible on Inlaid Library and Dairy Plant. Which MIGHT not be wrong, because even with no XP to start, you still can kill mobs somehow.
@@Rorther The only stage it worked on with Heart of Fire was in the end Dairy Plant, initially the idea was just picking up the gem, but that didnt work out. It was just lucky i started with the only stage that allowed me to actually do this lol but in the course of the video I show off all 3 other stages and how I just died
