@@kaebrix5166 I personally didn't expect it to be Ferguson and I didn't really have any large amounts of energy in it being her. With it being Murphy makes it seem like that there is more than what meets the eye. When she was revealed, I was like "I'm not doing this" because the reveal was so lackluster compared to the build up; so much tension and it deflated like a balloon that wasn't tied off. I felt like I got a handjob that wasn't worth it.
@PhillySZN I mean Murphy was there with almost, if not all the time playing the fence with Joan. I wonder where she was when the escape happened. I mean Murphy's vendetta was mostly with Vera, but it wouldn't surprise me if she followed Will the night of the escape to that vast emptiness and helped Joan out. I'm still remaining very cautious on whether Joan is still alive or not because if I keep my expectations very low then there is no way they can let me down any further. I'm extremely suspicious with the aftermath with Murphy and something just seemed off about the whole thing. I can't place it, but I can't shake the feeling.
@PhillySZN I guess we will have to wait. Something about the way this whole season was written especially since nine is like they were trying to hide something. I'd like to see where season seven goes. I'm not really hyped to see it, but I'm giving it the chance it deserves.

Murphy must have known where to go to photograph them at the grave of the Freak. She couldnt have followed, she was zoomed in taking the photo from a long way infront of where they parked. assuming logic matters of course, and that is was Murphy taking the photo.
To be fair i cant explain how Murphy knew to be there at the right time, but i suspect Ferguson will have been behind all this blackmail. she'd have needed funds to escape and make a new life, her assets would probably be locked or tracked when she escaped.
I think Murphy was her "partner" who likely was as good as dead as soon as she got involved.
Its not over yet for Will, Vera and Jakey, and one of them is going down when the Freak is caught.

Liam Behan We all did. The writers used that anticipation to their advantage.
The body in the grave is off Dana Malouf, a member of Kaz's crew in S5 played by transgender woman Daniiell. Joan Ferguson and Brenda Murphy had something going on in Season 4 episode 1. Brenda was the officer on the scene that escorted Joan in from the Van. Same episode where Joan told Vera she was coming for her Shinny Crown. Also Joan gave back the medication to Brenda to which she gave back to Vera . In espiode 1 of series 5, Vera asked Brenda what she and the Freak had going on?... Anyways it will be all explained I'm sure at some point in s7, but the Freak did make it out of the grave, turned up at Murphy's place and was the mastermind behind Murphy's blackmailing.
Plus the phone vera takes off Murphy is not the same phone shown in the cemetery scene after Channing shows up. She is alive.

I said it was her all along and some people said she wasn't a big enough character for it to be her but shows have done similar things before.

This just set up one of the biggest season to come to us in 2019. And you guys are disappointed on it not being Joan, it obviously couldn't have been her it was the last episode for them to do that would be stupid.

I did not expect her to be the blackmailer at all. I’m surprised I didn’t think that it could be Murphy, probably because I thought the blackmailer was more after Jackson or Jake. How could I forget that Vera switched Fletcher’s numbers for Murphy’s?! Lol

Yeah, this felt flat . It was too predictable . this would have been better if she would end up as a prisoner in Wentworth instead of being killed off right away. OR being killed by Vera and Vera ends up in Wentworth.

Biggest let down ever. Wentworth knew they would lose viewers without ferguson. So they baited all the ferguson fans until the very end to keep their ratings up. Pathetic.
Why did you keep watching then? Blackmail for money is not Ferguson's style. She goes for psychological destruction. People wanted it to be Joan so bad, that they ignored the signs. You should have stopped watching.

I think Rita will be Top Dog next season... she has similar characteristics to Bea, especially being motivated by love to protect her Sister, similar to the love Bea had for her daughter. Both are forced to go off the "right" path by actions that seek to protect the people they love. They then bring this love and care to their roles in prison which makes them Charismatic.
I can't wait.
Big let down but I don't think Murphy acted alone so I will stick around for season 7 in hopes the writers will redeem themselves. I was thinking it was Officer Miles, that would have been a more shocking reveal. She was acting too weird in my opinion. I think she walked into Vera's office twice soon after Vera received the prank calls & she seemed weird with Channing. She's never had a big story line so why would the writers have her along for 7 seasons without any major story? I am just glad it wsn't the freak. She is dead. The season 5 ending was great & she deserved it! Season 6 was the weakest. The Will & Marie thing was hard to watch, Allie's "I'm not falling for another woman with a death wish" line was the worst thing ever, the murder of Sharon Gilmour was so predictable, etc. I will wait & see what happens in Season 7 only because Rita Conners is such a great character & her relationship with Ruby was the only good thing season 6.
i see everyone complaining about the blackmailer reveal and finale all together but no one is praising the ICONIC fight between rita and dragovich. rita fucking snapped

Will not everybody's going to agree, there was so much invested in all the characters and this is the first season where it's pretty much a new cast. I think they handled it excellently.
I actually wanted Ferguson to come back -.- such a let down but such a twist!
I am going to edit this version to a version with Joan standing at the door.
I was really against Joan being alive and return, absolutely didn't want it to happen.
But when I see this... Man... It's a waste. They better made Shane the stalker or so, at least he has a motive and a beef with Jackson and the system, and the story would be ABOUT Ferguson. Not around Ferguson. Shane living in that house of her and maybe the freak had some last secrets to reveal, even if she is dead they still could do something amazing with for example her house. If they want it absurd, make a secret basement in the Freak's house in wich her body is laying and rotting. Who putted it there? Let the three talk to her. Make a goodbye-scene.
Or better: Reveal that the Freak actually did climb out of the box right after Jackson left, but Jackson wasn't sure about it, so he returned and saw this, and then beated her to death with his tools. That would be an amazing climax between these 2. Now it's slowly fading away in an anti-climax.
The stalker was this frog and that's it. Christ. I would have done a better job, even with the Freak being dead in the end.

And I would make the Rita and Drago fight between Sonia and Liz. Sonia dressed up as proper lady like season 4 because she thought she was going to walk out and Liz without dementia. No roof. Just in a corridor. Raw fight. Much blood. More realistic and really shocking if you ask me. Worthy ending of that story.
It hurted my eyes that they didn't do the best that was possible this season, unlike the other seasons :'( Really a shame.
It was a shame it wasn't Ferguson but didn't see that coming either at the time.

Trust me this wasn’t a let down. It’s a build up to the next season. Police are still on to Vera. The body found is Vera’s mother.... Someone still out there trying to get her. It can only be one person!

Everyone is complaining that it’s a let down, it’s definitely a pretty obvious pick if you think about it and definitely WAY less dramatic than the freak standing at her door but this isn’t a fantasy show! Yes, they take many creative licenses and these people live the most impossibly dramatic lives, exhaustingly dramatic sometimes, but you can’t survive being buried alive like that. Let’s say she did somehow pry herself out of the box in fantasy world...the weight of the dirt would have crushed her (which is impossible to survive, crushing injuries like being buried by something that deep are devastating to internal organs and releasing someone from a crushing accident can kill them as well). You want a fantasy show this ain’t the right one lol the writers knew there was no way in hell it could have been the freak. But I guarantee they knew everyone would hope somehow it would be and would watch till the very end to find out ;)
Do you two geniuses realise that Will burying her in the first place, by himself, was not only physically impossible, but extremely out of character? He also got over his torturous guilt and mental health issues surprisingly quickly too. Yeah. Poor writing indeed. You're right, I didn't want a fantasy show, but they obviously don't stick to realism anyway, so don't pick and choose and pretend they do. This show has been unrealistic ever since Joan was placed in WW as an inmate. Even if the stalker wasn't Joan, they could've done far better than make it Murphy. Barely anyone knew who she was and no one even cares about her character.

The clip doesn't contain spoilers, because 90% of the fanbase already knew exactly who the blackmailer was. What a let down. Where is the twist? Are they really passing off this predictable cop out as a finale? Even the two "shocking deaths"; no one gave a shit about Drago (except for me lol) and no one gave a shit about Murphy. So...where is the shock...? And would it have killed them to have confirmed the DNA results as Ferguson? Why do we have to wait another year to find out that she's 100% confirmed dead? Oh right. It's because they still need the promise of Ferguson to draw in a crowd to watch. Righto. They'll treat her character like crap, but they still need her to keep afloat. Writers have lost their minds.

*SPOILERS* The police arrive at Wentworth to question all staff about Ferguson's escape. The stalker is revealed to be Brenda Murphy and she demands the money from Vera or she will give the photos to the police. Zara is determined to kill Ruby and forces Liz to pass on a note to Marie, which she forgets. Rita finally reveals to Ruby she is still a cop and takes her place in the fight and brutally beats Zara to death. Jake discovers that Vera is pregnant, and she tells him thst he will have no part in the baby's life. Later, Murphy arrives to collect the money from Vera, she is gunned down by Channing, believing she is Ferguson. Will and Jake take the opportunity to pin everything, on Channing, putting them all in the clear.

Yes Grey, the fact that so many people don't know who she is, yet Murphy was the "big reveal" just says it all. The blackmailer plot should've been done and dusted in the first few eps, to make room for something more interesting.
