  • The #11 TCU Horned Frogs faced the #15 Oregon Ducks in the 2016 Alamo Bowl. The first half was dominated by the Ducks. Oregon was up by 31 points with a near guaranteed win. In the second half TCU would steadily come back. TCU Quarterback Bram Kohlhausen led the Horned Frogs down the field scoring three touchdowns and field goals to send it to overtime. In the third overtime the Oregon offense was not able to score. TCU completed a 31 point comeback, tied for the largest in bowl history. Bram Kohlhausen finished going 28-45 for 351 yards and two touchdowns.

Everyone brings up how it would have been different if Oregon's starting qb hadn't been hurt. Well, same could be said for it being a different game if TCU's starting qb hadn't been a meathead before the day of the game. And besides, what happened to Oregon's defense in the second half? They got beat by a 5th year walk on who had never started a game before.

Oh man I was at this game and it's between this and the game the Rangers beat the Yankees to go to the World Series for the first time as far as my all time in-person sports experiences (TCU grad/fan). I see everyone saying "they only won cuz Adams got hurt" which I will admit is probably true but nobody mentions that TCU was without their QB Trevone Boykin. He was a Heisman finalist the year before and having another great year. (Josh Doctson their best WR and a first rounder (bust I admit) was also out for this game.)
I woke up that day to notifications that Boykin got sent home that morning cuz he got drunk and punched a cop the night before. (Idiot) I almost just said "F it" and didn't drive down for the game and was regretting going at halftime, especially since the Alamo Dome ran out of beer (WTF) but I'm so glad I drove down and stuck around - What a freaking game!

@@holycrudofwow Exactly. Oregon had one of the best, most versatile quarterbacks in the nation in Vernon Adams. Unfortunately, they
also had the worst backup quarterback in the nation in Lockie. If Adams had played the whole game Oregon would have won easily, but
because of his injury in the first half he did not.
