    It really great to see bike manufacturing is taking a serious look at the smaller end of the motorcycle world.
    Being honest I do like it and I hear you about the space at the top of the engine and how a 450 would be nice, but let’s face it with today’s world you have to ask yourself. Do you need it ?
    If you buy this class of bike I really don’t think you have touring in mind, not that you couldn’t but there are better options out there in my opinion.
    It brings to mind that old saying “something for the weekend?”
    Thanks for bringing these reviews and although these are my thoughts and comments they may not apply to everyone.

    Great review! Finally a scrambler with a proper exhaust! I want this bike, really bad! I comment on other bikes that are called scramblers like the Honda where the exhaust system goes straight to the bottom of the frame. Dang, I got a HERO on my mind. So cool 😎👍

  • @nicholaskemp2246
    @nicholaskemp2246 Před 3 lety +7

    Great episode Mark. That looks a decent bike and it has drop dead gorgeous looks, but, (you knew that was coming didn't you!) I want to see a rear mudguard (fender for our American friends) just like the scramblers of the 70's had. It seems to be a current trend to end the bike at the end of the seat nowadays. They just don't seem finished. As though they said "Nah, don't need it, leave it off."
    Does any one else agree? Or am I on own on that one?

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 3 lety +3

      I do here you and a short rear mudguard might work in terms of looks too, as well as practicality. At least an option could be available, like for those available for mountain bikes (just bigger).

    Been waiting for the 250 to come out. The 125 was nice and tall, aggressive and looked great! Disapointing that the 250 looks smaller has lower seat height! It also looks a bit less aggressive and weedy than the 125 when you were riding it. Disappointing as i like a tall bike, being over 6ft so that has put me off! Might that be the new frame I wonder?? Performance seems ok and great that you can sit at motorway speeds, but at over £4000 it's way too over priced for chinese 250! To many compromised to tempt me to part with my hard earned cash just for a bit of fun on a weekend, but a nice bike all the same and a fab review. 👍

    For context - I have an 899 Panigale, which in my opinion will be a future classic and already in demand.
    I'd consider replacing it with this. Cool black and gold livery, usable power and fun on road tyres without a real licence risk unless you're being stupid.
    A bit different, love i.

    I would definitely get one and that was a good review. The drone footage alongside the bike whilst riding could have been longer and the inclusion of all aspects of the bike would have been nice and the bike on the stand with a 360 drone view would have been great at the end of the cinematics at the beginning. Keep up the good work fellas and stay safe. 😁👍🏾

    I like it - a lot. There are quite a few bikes (mainly 125) that try to pull off the scrambler look - with varying degrees of success. This one seems to have it spot on though. What else is out that's 250cc? Probably the Mutt 250 is the one which springs immediately to mind. But that's really roadster-biased. Also, it's air cooled too

      @@motorsforthemasses oh i agree it is but i like to customise bikes i never leave a bike standard and have seen some of them customised great and obviously has more dealers, parts back up and i would worry less if i had problems after warranty ends in finding someone or getting knowledge of how to fix a problem myself as there are millions of R.E owners as opposed to Bullit plus i expect to hold value longer being from a reputable manufacturer. I expect brexit might cause problems for all things Chinese too with getting parts, taxes etc who know's.

    Is there any option for a different exhaust?
    And/or can you remove the "lid" at the end to get some more noise out of it?

  • @charaderaptor
    @charaderaptor Před 3 lety

    When you don't have a gear indicator you'll go for the next change of higher gear even though you're on top gear. Same with Bullit Hero 125.
    I hope the radiator on 250 would screen the electronics behind from the rainwater. In Hero 125, which is an air cooled engine, all the electronics under the rear of the fuel tank were exposed directly to wet weather on the road and the waterproofing of electrical parts are terrible and could feel the bike hiccuping, sneezing and eventually limping. 125 has bad vibration issues. My exhaust guard next to the calf came off while riding on the road. The tail light wire-joints broke while the cover was sealed and intact. After three years, one of the cluster of wires under the key ignition switch broke due to turning of the handle and completely switched off the power supply.

    really, really nice video! The bike looks so good and it is affordable. I think about buying the desert seld for a long time, but it is so expensive. The hero looks much better for me and it´s moore than the half price. Ok - it hasen´t the same power, but I´m getting older and so 30 hp are enough😄👍

    Very interesting. I'm looking at getting a bike after not having one for 20 years. I'm 58, 5'11'' and all i'm looking for is something for the A and B road twisties from 30-70mph in the summer months to blow out the cobwebs and put a smile on my face. I've owned a lot of bikes from 50cc to Tiger 900i and had the pleasure of riding a Pan European at work (yep I had that job :) ). I love big trail bikes, but don't really want the power anymore. I was thinking KTM390, but it feels a little small for me. Perhaps this with a set of more road biased tyres would be perfect. I'd be interested in your thoughts. My mum lives in Oulton Broad so i'll have to come up and pay you a visit.

    If they prove to have rectified the poor quality and problematic electrics of the 125s then it will be a great bike..but the price??? A grand more than the Cf moto nk250 and more expensive than several 400s are available for...Mash, SWM, Benelli....My Hunt 250 is great, would love to be persuaded to buy this as well and in Black n Gold...reliability and price... reliability and price

    Thanks for a good honest review. I'm a long time classic biker and have a 1965 BSA trails bike and as I now need a commuter these new scramblers appeal.. I've seen your Mutt 400 Scrambler and you seem to like both very much. As there's not a lot of difference in price between this and the Mutt 400, give or take a couple hundred depending on dealers, which would you choose?? I imagine the 250 cheaper on insurance and fuel but I want a relaxed ride.. I'll be covering maybe 30 miles a day both duel carriageway and country lane. Cheers
