    I sir, totalty confused after watching vedio.
    need to know one thing.
    if column (9'' x 9" , having bars 4 no. of 16mm dia.) have 1.5'' of cover of each side and BEAM is passed through the center of Column.
    The cover size of beam (1.5'' cover of column face + 16 mm column's bar + 16 mm beam bar and so on) will increase to 2''-2.5''? and solution for this?
    can you plz clearify it or make a vedio on it.
    as no IS CODE mention this COLUMN - BEAM JUNCTION COVER issue?

    grade of concrete,
    grade of steel ,
    compression or tension condition and
    WSM or LSM design

      For every grade of concrete design bond is as per clauses in civil book it's mentioned in table 26.2.1.1 .for M20/25/30/35 =1.2/1.4/1.5/1.7
      If M20 plain bar then Tbd would be 1.2 .if deformed bar 60% increase if compression bar 25% increase. TBD 1.2+(60÷100)*1.2 ...similarly in comparison apply as grade you will get answer

      Actually, "Sigma S" is the stress developed in steel. So, It's not exactly the grade of steel. It is 0.87 x "Grade of Steel". So, the value of "Sigma S" for Fe550 is 0.87 x 550 = 478.5 (approximately). So, the actual value of development length is a little extra considered already as per the formula shown in the video. So, the structure is safe, not to worry. But it will not be safe in the case Fe500 is provided instead of Fe415.

    2. To avoid sliping of beam reinforcement.
    3.To hold reinforcement at coloum beam reinforcement junctions ... development length differs based on size of diameter of bar and nominal cover.
