This song is a truly fascinating amalgam of the following bands: Orange Juice (the choppy/ jangly Postcard guitars), New Order (the electronic rhythm), Joy Division / Section 25 / A Certain Ratio and a few other Factory bands (the cavernous production / ambience including the deep ringing bass and and the detached almost deadpan vocals)....and then there's that gorgeous piano running through it too which gives it a curious almost ethereal feel. This is quite a beautiful thing indeed. The golden age of 1980s post punk :)
I saw Xymox in Tijuana just unbelievable and memorable for the rest of my life.
This song makes me cry, I love clan of xymox, I love dark wave.
I can see how the nostalgia can bring tears to people's eyes...as this is past and will never be the same again.

In my opinion, of all Clan Of Xymox line up, the best one was that with Ronny Moorings, Anka Wolbert, Pieter Nooten and Frank Weyzig. I have been following and loving this band since 1984 and I own all its discography: always in my opinion, the most significant and unforgettable albums remain the homonymous "Clan Of Xymox" and "Medusa", in which the romantically darkwaving spirit emerged throughout its intensity. The debut EP "Subsequent Pleasures" was an excellent springboard for their subsequent career.

Direct to your feelings, it could only be created in the 80s from this awesome group and it goes so well with current times, the lyrics are about the great difficulty of human relations when there is love around, I must confess that this track can make me cry... Very few tracks can make it

@Jean-Philippe R ah oui le Yam’s oh la là ça fait un bail que je n’avais pas entendu ce nom et pourtant c’est comme si c’était hier les soirées. On allait aussi à l’escargot et au Rockstore. Et oui pour les COX j’ai jamais cessé de les écouter, ainsi que Cocteau Twins avec la belle voix de Liz Fraser qu’on retrouve aussi dans This Mortal Coil. J’aime toujours aussi écouter Dead can Dance, les Cure bien-sûr et bien d’autres. Cette musique est tellement fabuleuse qu’elle ne vieillira jamais, même la voix de Robert Smith est restée la même malgré les décennies passées. Habitais tu à Mauguio dans les 90’s ?
@Jean-Philippe R désolée si je t’ai confondu avec un autre ami de Claire qui habitait Mauguio. La prochaine fois que je la vois je lui parlerais de toi, ça lui fera super plaisir. C’était génial le Rockstore, il y avait même un soir par semaine, consacré à la projection d’un film devoir rester assis parterre pendant la durée du film c’était pas confortable 😂 à la fin on avait hâte qu’il se termine pour pouvoir danser. Dis moi le Yam’s c’est bien le bar qui avait une piste de danse qui se situé à Antigone pas loin du Sofitel ? Cet endroit était fabuleux et c’est là qu’on a entendu les premiers morceaux avec un son plus électro. J’écoute toujours les Sisters et un autre groupe moins connu mais français Collection d’Arnell Andrea. C’est génial CZcams on peut ainsi réécouter des morceaux qu’on oubliera jamais.

Tu as un super mémoire 👏 ça tombe bien que tu m’écrives aujourd’hui je viens juste d’avoir ma sœur au tél je lui ai évidemment parlé de toi. Elle se souvient de 2 Jean-Philippe alors elle aimerait plus d’infos sur toi, si tu as des anecdotes. Que tu me dises que tu es le plus grand des 2 est déjà un bon indice. Sinon en ce qui concerne la musique une belle découverte le tout dernier de Trobar de Morte « The Unquiet Grave » la musique aux consonances celtiques et le clip style gothique romantique, sont sublimes. On a tous vieilli mais rien n’a changé, la jeunesse est dans la tête tout comme la musique qu’on continue toujours d’écouter, même la voix de Robert Smith n’a pas changé c’est incroyable.
Thank you so much for making this song this got me through a lot of ruff times in my life im 42 and I'm 2 years sober. I herd this song back in 1997 and it changed the way I look at music. Now that i've lived a little I understand it even more. Again thank you so much for making this song its my favorite out of all of them a true Gem.

I finally saw Clan of Xymox this past November at Darker Waves.....they were INCREDIBLE. Wish they would've sang some of their older songs like "No Words" "Medusa" and "Agonized By Love". This songs brings all my depression, melancholy, sadness out of my soul and makes it dissolve.
