This is a music video creation of "Back Door" - Shot in October of 2005 in the back of my mother's hair salon (Hair Studio 48) at the old garage door (the "Back Door"). Check out the upload w/ commentary (on this channel) where I talk about making this video. Ronny is also a big fan of this fan video, and during a COX gig I was attending (March 2020) he invited me on stage to sing "Back Door" with him (that video can be found on my IG: @therosephantom). -TRP

That's funny. It keeps the spirit of the music and time period very well but anyone who grew up in the 80s knows this is not cheesy enough to actually be from that time. A real 80s video would have been much worse. Lol

Proper creative class. Medusa and Clan Of Xymox right up with there with First and Last And Always and the original Temple Of Love 12 inch. Back then I never heard anyone talking about dark wave or coldwave or indeed any wave other than new, which was a term mostly reserved for the flock of seagulls and human league. Back then we were more concerned with the message than the label.
In the 34 years since, I have introduced a few to this band; Neither I nor they have ever met anyone else who has ever heard of them. And that, my fellow Clannies, is another awesome thing about them.
Clan of Xymox. One of the best bands ever. They are from Holland and currently play a lot throughout Europe and South America. The last time I remember them playing in the US was back in 86 or 87. Old school cool.
Definitely one of the best goth albums ever "medusa"

Incredible how I get emotional with this song. If one day I went to a new World and I could take certain things, certain memories and I was allowed only one song, this would be Back Door. This song is of an indescribable depth; there are many layers that overlap and produce a mixture of sadness, melancholy, but with a promise of something good, soft. What a great work of art Xymox left for the world and for new generations.

I remember Xymox at 930 club in DC . I caught the Twist of Shadows show. I’d been listening well before that but seeing the original cast was a treat . I’m in love with Anke .
I just remembered that next to the previous house that I lived there was a small shop that I used to attend weekly and the owner of this store only listened to this kind of music and I found it very cool. One day I couldn't stand it, and I ended up going to talk to him about the songs he always put on. Finally, I met this band on his recommendation 💜

This is the remake that appeared on the best of COX album. I prefer the original version, but the remake is great too. Nice video.

Finally at 1 million
Acabei de ver o filme, O Hóspede, pelo Tele cine. A trilha sonora chamou minha atenção. Escutei um som que me pareceu familiar. Vim pesquisar no CZcams a trilha sonora. Ao escutar veio a memória uma época especial na minha vida. A parte instrumental do início da música "a day" da banda Clan Of Xymox. Fui conhecer essa banda e ouvir esse som na minha adolescência. Um amigo chamado Evanguelos (boca 7), que apresentou essa, então, novidade na época.
Bem como Front 242, Bauhaus, The Cure, The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission, The Cult, The Smiths, Joy Division, entre outros.
Morávamos no bairro Ponta da Praia na cidade de Santos-SP. O Boca sempre aparecia com essas novidades. Uns sons muito louco.
Voltei no tempo. Ao escutar Clan Of Xymox pareceu que entrei em uma espécie de máquina do tempo.
Surreal.
Tenho hoje 46 anos. Mas na época, por volta de 13 anos.
