- Today in this Vlog I walk up Petřín Hill which is the first Touristy activity I ever did when I first came to Prague. In this video, I discuss 4 keys to how I went from 0 to over 1000 subscribers and monetized my channel in 6 months.
Thank you to all the people I have interacted with the past 6 months.. it has been a big positive part of my life the last 6 months.

Congrats to the first thousand subs, it may not seem like much, but 95% od CZcams channels won't get that far. If I may suggest, try to do a video with other expats living in Prague, like Jen or Brandon. I don't mention their channel name on purpose, but I'm sure you know who/which I meant. Also a video with your kid(s) or wife would attrack new viewers. Just a personal opinion from a person who's never made a CZcams video.
I would do a video with Jen or Brandon haha. My skill level at presenting a good video still isnt what it needs to be before I feel I would provide them any value.. My Channel grew alot faster than expected.
As for my wife and son they would have already been in these videos.. its taking my wife some time to warm up to the idea of putting her face on youtube. She likes her anonymity. Thanks for the feedback I 100% agree.
@@ThePragueExpat0 Well don't underestimate yourself. One example of the value you could be to Jen is the contrast between you two. She has absorbed a lot from Czech mentality (the good and the bad too, haha) and you have not yet. So this might definitely be interesting along with the fact that she is from Cali and you are from other part of the US (sorry I don't remember which one but I'm sure you are not Californian). But yes I understand your point, just try it whenever you feel the time is right.

@@rode330 That's true we do have some different backgrounds. Also from the perspective that I am married to a Czech and a whole side of my family is Czech. I grew up in Michigan which is truly a very different culture than what it's like in California. Thanks for the encouraging words and advice. When I think I can provide some value I will do that.

@@ThePragueExpat0 Oh no, we've been back in CZ. since October. I was excited for another Christmas in CZ and my son and daughter in law were supposed to join us for Christmas but many things came up. Our dog had surgery and must be carried and watched constantly until January. Then my husband broke his pinkie toe and sprained his ankle and can't walk until mid January. So not only are my son and daughter in law NOT joining us for Christmas, I can't even enjoy Christmas in Europe. I can't go to Prague or Cesky Krumlov or even the Christmas market here in Ceske Budejovice. So I definitely now wish I were home in Michigan in my big 6 bedroom 3 bath house instead of sitting day after day in this small apartment. But I still must consider my blessings. My husband and dog are alive and by my side and my children and grandchildren are simply a FaceTime call away.
@@CzechingWithKatrina Wow Im sorry to hear that... the worst time of year to have an injury like that. After watching your last video I thought you might be staying there a bit longer. I was talking to my wife and realized she was had been watching some of your husbands videos going back a few years.. back when we lived in Michigan. Hope your husband has a speedy recovery!
@@ThePragueExpat0 Thanks. Good to know your wife watches Martin's videos. I filmed the video in October when we were still in Michigan and took my time editing it. Maybe you can make some videos on the Prague Christmas market and the church of the baby Jesus. 2 places I always make a point to visit in Prague at Christmas. I'm bummed I won't make it this year.
@@CzechingWithKatrina What do you like to buy at the Christmas Markets? Thanks for the idea on the Church of the Baby Jesus Iv never been there before. Lately daylight is short so less time to make videos and the Shorts I can make at night. Im about to go on vacation to Ireland for Christmas, probably going to make a video comparing Christmas tradition of Ireland and Czech Republic. My Mom is Irish so Iv spent many Christmases in Ireland.

Pitty the beauties of old town Prague are hardly visible from this distance....
