Dugway Geode Beds Utah : A Quick Stop And Search For Geodes

  • This was my first stop on my way west, Dugway Geode Beds in Utah. I'm not much of a rock man unless they are rocks that have been shaped by man, but I wanted to scope out the geode diggings for my wife and the next time she gets out that way with me again. I had fun but didn't hang around for long.
    About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my CZcams "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

I have been there many times, the big hole is where a large excavator has been digging, I picked up one that was 3ft long and 9 inches in diameter and had it cut, it was nice. The claim owner told me to take all he pushed aside with the excavator.

Lots of geodes in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois, along the Mississippi--The pretty ones. I used to dig with my grandparents in the 60's for them along local creek beds. Have a big collection in my garden now. Hubs and I drove from Illinois to California in June on Highway 70 to visit family. Long damn trip. Rained all through Colorado and ran into a mudslide, detoured on a one lane cattle path. Scary as hell. But we certainly do live in a beautiful country. Enjoyed your videos.

I have a geode that i got from my grandpa 40 year's ago, and he had it for 40 year's, so over 80 year's it has not been cracked open, and it is perfectly round and smooth. My grandpa collected antiques, coins, and indian artifacts. He collected a lot of stuff, and also restored antique clocks, many were very rare. He told me the name of this thing i have, can't remember the other name for it. I had two, but I gave one away, don't know if he ever opened it. I would like to give it to your wife. I am nearly 51, no kid's, and it would be nice for someone to enjoy it. I would have it cut open, because it will probably be a nice item, or not open it like I did, and display it. let me know if you read this. I don't use any other social media. The new meta, or mem tav, means death, so no facebook for sure.God bless.
