I have always liked Israel Adesanya (except when I didn't know him well as a fighter initially) ever since I first heard him talk. His Undertaker entrance, his talks on Hot Boxin' with Mike Tyson, his resilience, his champ like mentality. I'm glad he finally got his win over Alex Pereira. This is the sweetest victory of his career and his post fight speech was motivating. Kudos Mr. Adesanya. Love from India.

Yeah that was what made the difference in this fight. Instead to allow Alex to keep hitting in that corner, Izzy reacted with a speed combo. Alex thought he got Izzy and was complacent and going for the kill, not knowing a trap has been set for him.

100% of those who watched the fight live would have thought izzy was going to lose in the final few seconds before the ko. He literally was at the brink of losing and then BOOM. One thing Izzy does so well is, he doesn't rush in with no guards when he hurts his opponents. He makes sure his defence is still there while chasing for the ko of a hurt opponent.

Izzy was using the same combo he used in their first fight, when Alex got saved by the bell in UFC 281.
This time he threw that same combo more knowing Alex's soft spot from the first round when Alex got saved by the bell.
Izzy knew he had to adjust when he recognized that Alex was aware of it (the right hand to the equilibrium).
The craftsman izzy is he knew that the only way to land the combo is to bait Alex in by playing possum.
