    thanks mate, very thorough vidoe. I watched this vid abt 5 times and hung my vanity on brick wall. Very happy with the result. Plumber was asking for $1000 for this work :D

    that was a nice plug idea for taht floor. People usually say cut the floor till you get to the supports and screw down a new piece or nail a box under the floor to the joists so that you can nail the floor to the box.

    I'm not the most observant but when u said the plumber is to silicone the vanity top down .. u have already applied to the vanity and wall . I would suggest that be done after the plumber has done his bit or you caint remove the top 🤔

    • @mitre10nz
      @mitre10nz  Před rokem +1

      Hi Kaylah, the plumber does the siliconing generally as its part of the consenting process that this gets done by the plumber to avoid any leaks. You have a good point though - the way it's mentioned here is a bit confusing - so I'll ask our team to update the instructions to make sure it's clear. The correct order would be to get the plumber in to reconnect pipework / taps and silicone the basin on to the vanity, and then you can silicone along the wall behind the vanity. ^Meg

    But it's a wet area, shouldn't the wall lining be a fibro cement type cladding.

      Use a tile drill bit, tile screws with a plastic screw insert, then same method as attaching to wall board. Probably limited as to where you can put it though, only where the studs are.

    As this seems to be geared to an audience on the east side of the pond, you really should add a few of disclaimers for your US viewers. 1) you say permits would not be required - As permitting requirements in the US are set by individual jurisdictions there is no way to make that claim. One town may require a permit while their neighboring city may not, 2) licensed plumbers may or may not be required - there are areas here where there are no plumbers licensing requirements. 3) "S" traps were removed from all US plumbing codes about 50 years ago. Cannot believe these are still acceptable on your side, how is the waste line vented? Best Wishes

      @@daddybear8849 So are we to assume that the laws of physics do not remain constant - "S" traps are still failures waiting to happen. As for my other comments, they are 100% applicable to a US audience which is likely to be bigger than the entire population of New Zealand. You need to realize that this is a global forum where something that is permissible in one part of the world may not be in another. As I said - he needed to add a disclaimer for his global viewers.

      @@ItzCoopzFtw Normally I am a very laid back guy who would let this kind of verbal diarrhea roll off my back but today is a different story. First, all I said was that since this was posted worldwide, the author needed to add a disclaimer that it was only valid in a certain country / area. Items he spoke of are not allowed by the major plumbing codes around the world. Secondly my comment about the population of New Zealand was not slam rather it was to put into perspective the percentages of the population the post would reach compared to the target audience. Third, as for your comment; you would be speaking Japanese if we had not saved your sorry butt. No criticism, no brag, no ownership, just fact. So take your false pride and insert it where the sun don't shine. I am sure there re a great number of worthy folks in your country, too bad you are not one of them.
